Better Call Saul (2015–2022)

I Can't Believe They Pulled It Off....But They Did...And THEN SOME!!!
10 September 2022
When I first heard they were making a spinoff of Breaking Bad, which I consider to be the greatest show ever, my first thought was "okay they're doing it for a money grab just to keep the cash cow going"... because most spinoffs (and sequels) are made to appease fans and end up being barely half as good as their parent shows. I thought it might last a season or two at best. I never thought they could make the story of Saul Goodman into his own entity and be able to stand alone from the shadow of Walter White's saga. I'm happy to say I couldn't have been more wrong. Not only did they do just that, they managed to create a whole new epic chapter with it's own compelling and intricate characters with roller coaster-like story arcs. They put together a stunning body of work over the course of six seasons, with each one being better than the last... and one could make an argument that it superseded its predecessor in terms of character development and storylines that will tug at your heart strings as you connect with them. I can't necessarily say it's better than Breaking Bad, but it's absolutely on the same level and I'm beyond impressed with what they did, especially the last season which I anticipated so much so that it consumed a huge portion of my life while waiting. Thank God Bob Odenkirk survived his heart attack because we were almost deprived of one of the most amazing seasons of television my eyes have ever witnessed. It was an awesome send off to an unmatched universe. What Vince & Peter did will never be done again. I understand that these shows are not for everyone, but I believe everyone should at least give them a chance once because the pay off has been more than worth it, and both BB & BCS will stick with me the rest of my life. Each time I rewatch both I catch something I didn't before, and that is a testament to how multi-layered and detailed they are. I wish I could rate them a hundred stars because they deserve it. From the slow burn beginnings of "Uno" to the gripping series finale "Saul Gone" I was on the edge of my seat. In the words of Walter after hearing Gale recite Leaves Of Grass... "Bravo."

Worst Movie I've Ever Seen

I'd rather watch monkeys at a zoo throw fecal matter at each other. Danny Glover should be ashamed of himself for aligning his star power with this garbage.

Unreal realism

This is unmatched, unparalleled television. I've watched it countless times and am no less riveted than the very first time my eyes witnessed it. I have very few words to explain how great this show is, let alone this episode. I won't spoil it for I feel this is something everyone has to behold for themselves to fully appreciate. If you love great acting, cinematic glory, and achievement I strongly encourage you to watch this show in it's entirety and soak in this episode once you get to it...in ALL OF it's grandeur. As well as the brilliant ending, but this episode is Breaking Bad at its absolute peak.

Perfection In Every Way

Words still can't describe how I feel about this show. I've tried and tried to find other shows and movies that measure up to the standard this amazing piece of art created to no avail. Every time I watch this episode it makes me feel just about every emotion a human being can feel and after it ends I start to rewatch the show again in it's entirety. It simply doesn't get any better than this. The Sopranos is the only show that comes close in my opinion, and it is still a few notches below Breaking Bad. This show is like the Bride's Hattori Hanzo sword in Kill Bill.... as sharp as sharp can possibly be and I'm quite sure it will never, ever be topped.

Don't watch this show...

...unless you want to be hooked to it. It's like the meth it portrays... simply addictive. I compare everything I watch now to this... and nothing ever measures up. I never thought it was possible to love a TV show this much but I digress.... it broke me bad... pure excellence in every way.
