Raid (2018)
One of Ajay Devgn's best movies which is just simply gripping with superb storytelling.
When I first saw the trailer, I was very suprised because it was very good and I felt excited because I was eager to see this movie in cinemas. Raid has such a good story which gives this film enough creditbility for audiences to digest as about the longest raid set in Lucknow, UP in 1981.
Like I said, its easy to digest this film not just the story itself but the suspense and curiosity that is shown. When the house was being raid by Ajay, it created a lot of tension as to what it would lead to and climax being a perfect example.
Climax is superb espeically the song in the Juk Na Paunga song in the background where local residents attempt to attack Ajay. There was a superb scene where Ajay is alone inside a room and shows tenstion with those intense eyes knowing this could have been the end of the road for him.
Ajay & Saurabh's face off was mind-blowing and their chemistry was a delight to watch in terms of their dialogue exchange and acting.

Performances:
I'm a huge fan of Ajay and he's my favourite actor of all time. Watching him in this movie gave me pleasure to see movie with a content feel that gives Indian Cinema a good repuatition. Giving a superb performance helps because he was able emote with those eyes and had the commanding voice to justify his acting in Raid.
Saurabh is quite an underrated actor but he fits role perfectly. His dialogue delivery was superb and was able to maintain his face expression many important scenes. His acting really flows well and he handles his character the way audience would have expected.
Ileana D' Cruz has a small role and she acts well as the loving caring wife of Ajay. Her chemistry with Ajay is excellent and she shared a few good scenes with him in the first half.
Summary:
Raid is one of those great movies that deserves attention amongst audiences because its a very good content driven based film. Ajay really deserves credit for choosing this movie and I'm glad he managed to gain a solo Hit at the BO.
Overall, Raid is on a Gangaajal level in terms of content, performances and dialogues. I'm going rate this film a 4/5.
Bhoomi (2017)
Sanjay Dutt is back with a bang
Bhoomi may be a typical revenge story where the daughter gets raped and father is forced to take action against this issue. I think Omung Kumar handles this movie very well with excellent direction. You have court scenes which may look predictable as you think these baddies will get away this issue which they do. However, Sanjay Dutt asks these guys for forgiveness but in most cases, no father would never forgive anyone for raping their beloved ones.
Later on in the film, Sanjay decides to avenges after his daughter gets molested because there is a twist which was unexpected. Earlier you had three guys who raped Aditi but a fourth guy (later on revealed) was in involved and raped her along with the other three men. I loved the way Sanju tortured the guy and his dialogues were interesting where he explained what happens to people in countries like Korea, Iran, Afghanistan and etc who rape a female.
Like I said, it may be typical revenge angle but the way Sanju Baba takes action gives you curiosity as what happens next.
Sanjay Dutt is back after a very long time and he gives an excellent performance in his father role. His emotions and innocence at the court scenes were superb. Plus, intensity when he attacks those who raped his daughter.
Aditi Rao Hydari is excellent and was a good choice for the daughter role. She shows innocence and vulnerability where she gets victimised by these baddies. I thought her character was going to be killed off after those guys tossed her into the water. However, I'm glad that her character lived unlike other roles in movies where the heroine usually dies.
The baddies do a good job in their respective parts.
Overall, Bhoomi is worth a watch although its a pity that it Flopped at the Box Office. I will rate this film out of 7/10 but nonetheless a good comeback for Sanjay Dutt.
