The Poseidon Adventure (1972)
Extraordinary!
It's one of those films that has EVERYTHING. Gripping adventure scenes, non-stop crises, drama, cheese, hotpants on TWO of the main stars, Shelly Winters' underwater underwear exposure, Ernest Borgnine (anything with Ernest Borgnine is good), fabulous characters, tension, really sad scenes, heroes, heroines, death, growth, love, understanding, go-go boots, cliches, "There's Got To Be A Morning After", a kid who looks like Bobby Brady, Red Buttons... the list goes on and on...
If you like movies that have EVERYTHING, check out "Groupie Girl" (a.k.a. "I Am A Groupie") and "The Vikings."
Groupie Girl (1970)
My life was incomplete till my husband and I found this film.
This movie has it all... terrible bras, incomprehensible dialogue, bad Mick Jagger imitation, jiggly bare butts, Beatle-esque rip-off sequence, kit, groovy clothes, swinging sex party, characters with no redeeming qualities whatsoever, the longest cat-fight in cinematic history (complete with breast exposure), unforgettable theme song... what more could you ask for? The movie opens with a van cruising around the streets of some British city, with the credits painted on the side while the catchy theme song "Groupie Girl" plays. Upon closer inspection of this footage, and using the slow motion feature, we noticed that the van hits a pedestrian, who falls to the ground in the van's wake! I can't believe this footage was left on the film. That scene alone makes "Groupie Girl" worth watching.
