Great writing, plot twists and acting
9 August 2022
I found out about this series by browsing Tubi (looking for a movie) and decided to give it a try. I wound up watching all 8 episodes over 2 days. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the writing was and loving the flawed but likeable characters, especially the lead actor. Bravo to all involved.

Good film!

Found this fan film on YouTube and I was very impressed. I love the horror genre but I usually hate fan films but I was pleasantly surprised by this one. Not sure what the budget was but I'm guessing it wasn't substantial. Having said that, decent production values and a great Jason. On the downside, some of the acting wasn't great but the film's tone and Jason made up for it.

Big Brother is Watching YOU!!

Warning: Spoilers
I saw this film in Europe in September, and boy did it make me think about where this country, the USA, could be headed. It reminded me a bit of the Terminator movies in that we could be destroyed by the very things we have created. But unlike the Terminator movies, it's not machines that will destroy us, but a government that continues to grow beyond our control. As government gets bigger and more powerful and more intrusive the weaker and more dependent we become. Could it come to this? I believe that it's already starting to happen. As for the movie's plot, there is a resistance movement that gives the viewer hope that in the end, the people will rise up and take back control against tremendous odds. Will good triumph over evil? That's the million dollar question. I thought that the script was very good and for what I'm guessing was a small budget, the effects were surprisingly effective. One can only wonder what this writer could do with a larger budget and a feature length script. I suggest that you find this movie on-line or wherever it's available, and watch it. The future doesn't look so bright if this movie rings true. Be careful what you ask for because you just might get it.

Papa (2010)

Touching and heartwarming.
25 October 2011
I was fortunate enough to view this film at a festival in Europe. It seemed to me to be a labor of love by the writer as a dedication to his father. I'm only saying that because it seemed like such a personal story. I wish I had a chance to speak with the writer to ask him. But since I did not, I can only assume. I feel that this film will appeal to anyone who has lost a parent. It reveals what it must be like to cope with the feelings of regret and loss. As touching as this film is, the writer was careful not to tug at the heartstrings alone. There is quite a bit of humor sprinkled throughout. I'm sure that this writer's Papa would be proud.
