a real movie

this movie was refreshing to see. instead of all the Hollywood blockbusters filled with models and computer generated graphics, this movie hits a lot closer to home as it shows how people live in real life and deal with awkward situations. this movie is FULL of awkward situations and is often hilarious! as a son of divorced parents i know directly how awkward the situation can be and how difficult it can be to have another father figure. the only thing i didn't really like was the few scenes where the mom and son were behind closed doors, leaving you the viewer to make of it what you will. kind of strange how they don't really show you or ever reveal what is happening. other than that, this movie was funny at times and awkwardly real.

not too shabby

Warning: Spoilers
well i must say this movie wasn't the greatest i've seen, nor is it the worst. i thought it would be a dumb movie about a spoiled rich kid afraid to grow up and have responsibilities, which it was, but it was a lot more than that. turns out, the movie had great emotional moments and gave the audience a GOOD message for once. the message being that money can't buy you happiness or love, something i think gets lost with most people nowadays. it was refreshing to see this message come from a movie! Arthur's character is well played by brand who can be so immature at times, yet is also forced to deal with a lot of emotions and eventually becomes a better man by going through things. the connection between Arthur and Naomi couldn't have been more perfect, what a refreshing actress she is compared to the cookie cutter model type in most movies. oh and it made me laugh a few times, especially when he gets in the gummy bear suit! lol

i had high expectations for this movie before i rented it. unfortunately it wasn't even close to as good as i thought it would be. the best part of the movie is the first 30 minutes. after that it was just talking, and more talking, then matt damon complaining about his "gift". even though through the whole entire movie he only uses his gift 3 times, and during these "connections" it only shows a faint black and white screen with a person standing there. after they showed that for like 10 seconds damon would just recall what he had seen. LAME i thought the movie would be about life and death and what happens after we die, instead all it was showed was a bunch of random people that wanted to talk to their loved ones passed. all in all this movie was incredibly slow and boring and an extreme disappointment.

oh my DEMI
8 August 2010
i watched this movie purely because i like David Duchovny as an actor and because i think Demi Moore is the most attractive woman i've ever seen. this movie was kind of weird when it first started out but you quickly catch on that their life is way too perfect to be real. it was actually better than i thought it was going to be with a real felt message that there is more to life than material things. I'm a marketing student and the real scary part of the movie is when i realized that this could actually happen, in fact it does already in a way with celebrities and famous athletes getting paid to wear and use certain products just to make others want to go buy them. overall this movie was a 7 with an ending that will make you smile.
