An Inconvenient Truth (2006)
Some people are crazy...
I like how every now and then a couple of PhDs, scientists and engineers come here and write lengthy reviews with their own facts; (and all disclaiming that, oh, it's STILL A GOOD THING, if people conserve and use renewable energy, but this movie is inaccurate) like they just have that much knowledge and researched facts to really think ever more clearly than those who just loved the film, and felt compelled. Nobody knows really if anything for real is happening, but let's err on the side of caution. Stick these 'I see the other side of the coin' people on a field full of land mines, tell them there is 30%, hell, let's say even 5% chance they walk across the field they'd get blown to bits. And tell them, if they put on these magic boots, they'd be 100% fine. I'd really like to see what these PhDs and skeptics would do. The real truth is, a good proportion of the general public wont bother with this saving our planet business until they are 'scared' into it, and even then, there will still be a number of people who just wont act on it. In Canada, our cigarettes packages have pictures of lung cancer plastered all over them, and hey, people are still buying, but that's none of my business.
So we need everyone who is so 'foolishly' falling for Al Gore's dodgy statistics, like myself. Who's gonna act on anything that's an inconvenience, when there's no 'or-else's to go with it. A few might, but most don't...and who would make a documentary like this: Hey, global warming might be happening, but, it might not be. Here are some facts and counter facts. Go home and do your own research. End of film.
I don't mind if the filmmaker exaggerates to get us do something for a worthy moral cause, call me ignorant. This movie, exaggerating, inaccurate or not, will change me.
