Bol (2011)
Bol (speak)..... chor yar mat bol (plz don't)
I was excited to see this since the first time I heard about it, last year. Film promos that aired last month did however failed to excite me too much but skipping it was not an option especially after reasonably good "Khuda ke Liye". So I went in to see it last night and by the end of it I was relived..... because it finally ended. A few things that went against the movie... First off, I am not against preachy and depressing movies but I believe its criminal for the movie to not be entertaining and this was a complete bore, I mean documentaries are more entertaining. They should have made a bit more effort to keep the going ons interesting for the audience. Secondly, Shoaib Mansoor tried to take up too many issues and thus failing to do justice to any of them... there's issue of intersex boy then about having girls born then about having too many children then about life of prostitutes and finally a vague love angle. Thirdly the movie is too bold and mature and people can get really uncomfortable watching it with family, it was a big turn off. Only three people get a chance to act really in the horde of characters namely Omaima, the father and Shafqat Cheema the rest of the cast was forgettable. people are going to watch it, no matter how much negativity, out of sheer curiosity but do keep an energy drink with you or you may fall asleep somewhere in the middle. P.S: For all of the Atif fans, you may better watch one of his music videos in which his character may have more depth and screen time than he has in this film and well, he was awkward in the few scenes that he was in anyway so better his role was short. Posters are ridiculously misleading though.

Got What Expected And More
I went to watch this movies with no hopes of being awed or even satisfied but I was expecting a good time pass, guess it's still too much to expect from this movie...Lets divide the characters:
Boys: All of them seems to have their brains hanging between there legs, they can only think of sex and oh yeah there was this guy who wore glasses and seemed a bit intelligent he can think of weed too.
Girls: They seem to hate their clothes more than Jason itself.
Jason: The best actor in the movies and mind you he was wearing a mask the whole time. I expected this movie to be bad but it exceeded my expectations and turned out to be the king of bad.....No plot turns, okay violence, over used ending and it seems that script was written by a drunken monkey.... If u wanna seem some good thriller/horror check out "hills have eyes" "texas chainsaw massacre" and even "grindhouse"
The Notebook (2004)
Love story that tries hard but fails to at least melt my heart....
Alright, so I heard a lot of hype and good reviews about this movie and people warned me to watch this with a tissue roll beside me....I finally decided to watch the movie last night and man was I disappointed....
The film starts with a cute young guy hanging on wheel ride for a girl to ask her out and on top of it, he doesn't even know her just met her.How many of us guys would do something so freakish in real life. From that point onwards I knew things aren't gonna get any good and they didn't.It went the typical way of boy and girl in love but family disagrees due to class differences, the plot so overly used in Bollywood cinema. I figured out that old couple was in fact Noah and Allie pretty early in the movie so the suspense of who Allie would chose didn't excite me either and were we supposed to cry because the old lady couldn't remember her hubby...they had three children and it seems lived pretty much of there lives together happily until she starts forgetting things, give me a break, what about "50 first dates" (Adam Sandler) that was more tragic as there she forgot her love everyday, thus that "pain" wasn't painful enough for my heart to bust into tears.....and that cheesiest ending of dying together was like icing on the cake in a sarcastic way....she wasn't even diagnosed with any disease that could kill her then why she died along with him(he was a heart patient so his death was understandable) what are the odds you die with the one you love at the same time, unless its deliberate, on the same bed.
Direction was okay, Script was the main culprit here.... Two thumbs down, go watch "Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind" instead or Bollywood classic "Devdas" .
