How to Have Sex (2023)
For me, it's quite simple
Before watching it, thought the title was the wrong choice for it. After seeing it, I get it. Fits well.
Great movie. If you're an emotional human being. Painful to watch. If you're like two of the characters in the movie, you're not a human, you're an animal. Talking about one male & one female character.
For me... it's about crime. It's about using people. (Most) people don't want to be treated as objects. Where the hell is the sexual education in the UK?! They need to work on that ASAP. And being a virgin needs to be normalized, too. Worldwide.
All in all, a sad film. But it should be popular, and seen.
They/Them (2022)
Fear doesn't discriminate
Love that tagline! Not being into slasher movies plus bad comments made me think I'll skip it, but... Decided to give it a try anyway. Glad I did. Great movie! Totally watchable. Might not be an actual 10, but gotta redeem the haters that gave it low score just because fear got over them. See what I did there? Anyways, love the message of the movie, too. It's quite relevant.
Cinderella (2021)
Flawless
Kids will love it. They already do. If you don't, well, that means you're not a kid... or just not into it. And that's okay. But easy on rating it with #1's because the movie is awesome and deserves more.
Camila was a great choice because she's an incredible vocalist and I enjoyed her acting as well. The movie obviously had a big budget, it's funny and modern. Loved that.
If I made Cinderella in 2021, I think this would be it. Spot on! Imma go listen to the soundtrack now. Looking forward to hearing Million To One again and You Gotta Be, it was refreshing they incorporated that one.
Sand Dollar Cove (2021)
Aly isn't bad. You are
I don't really do reviews but when I see so many clueless people in here trashing an actually talented actress... And using the only word they know, "chemistry", I honestly giggled at that & I just had to try to explain.
First off, the movie was one of the most realistic ones from Hallmark. Glad they're trying to go that authentic route! That might be the reason why most of you didn't like it. There weren't any twists at the end where the main character get the wrong idea about the other one. I thought you guys were tired from that overdone dramatic mess & moaned about it just yesterday? Guess not.
You do know an actor is here mainly to deliver what the producers of the movie envisions, right? Why blame Aly, then? She delivered. I knew I'd come in here & see so much hate. Boy I was right. Girl didn't have a bubbly enough personality for ya? She was doing her job. Just think about it. She's a rich city girl with an amazing job, look at her car & everything... She has everything goin' for her. Girl thinks she doesn't need a man. And she's not in a rush. She probably is tired of men. Why blame her for being unenthusiastic & calm, then? Girls can be grounded, too. C'mon, be real for once, you guys! Because, she obviously is real. Do you think any other girl would start running for Chad right away or what? This girl obviously doesn't fall in love easily, &... Good for her! There should be more of that in these chick flicks.
Anyways, I think the Ellie could've thought of keeping the pier & renovating it earlier, I know I did. But without her being late with that idea, we wouldn't have at least a little bit of a turbulent story. Gave it 10 stars not because I liked it that much, but because most of you butchered it.
I Care a Lot (2020)
Awards ahead!
Maybe not Oscars (why not?) but Golden Globes etc... could easily happen. Already saw 1 GG nomination on Wiki. The movie is amazing. Sure, we may not like some of the unexpected things and turns, but... that's expected, right? I mean, we didn't make the movie. Someone else did. And it's highly entertaining.
I don't write reviews because I'd like to review each and every single one I watch but that would be 800+ (according to my IMDb ratings list). Still, when I saw the negative ones, I knew there was something fishy in here and had to put one up.
All of the negative reviews are from similar accounts, with bad English (Indians) and with similar reasons why they dislike the movie. It's usually their only review. Their account wasn't active 'til now and their profiles are empty. They're either fake reviews (ordered - yup, it's a thing) or they were posted on a anti-feminist/anti-LGBT platform.
Could be the latter one. Too many comments about feminism. While I won't waste my time researching this but the first source that comes to mind is Reddit (Redditors don't sound this dumb, though), some incels forum etc. It's just too obvious these aren't legit viewers and 99% of them didn't even watch a minute of the movie. They are a passionate group filled with hate and with lots of free time.
Sad combo, right? The movie is enjoyable, period. An actual thriller! With twists. And as I've read from other reviews, what happens in the movie, it's a real thing. At least in the US. So, it deserves a movie. And it's a great story anyway. Even if there weren't hundreds of fake bad reviews, I'd still give it a 10/10.
