Welcome to Tijuana (2009)
Nice one
I've seen Welcome to Tijuana quite a while ago on a festival here in San Francisco, think it was its premiere. Really, a very impressive and interesting film about immigration. Although it tells nothing new for people who are already familiar and involved in this topic (I'm not entirely, just knew the common lines from the papers or the typical phrases from TV to this point..so I've found this very interesting after all..), it serves its facts very evocative and touching. I also liked the artistical approach, which enhances very colorful the heavy weight of its dramatic topic. An excellent film you should consider throw an eye upon, if you're into social documentary.
King of California (2007)
Very good work
Can totally confirm that last comment..
Didn't exspect that much before renting that DVD, but after all it was quite a nice surprise to see Michael Douglas' extraordinary performance and that of Evan rachel Wood, which is also one of the greatest performer nowadays.
No clichés, no unnessesary over-the-top changes in storytelling, just a nice little film, calm and professionally narrated about father and daughter and the apparently mazy visions which turn out to be not just visionary.
Everyone did a great job on this, and hopefully there'll be more brilliant moments in film history in the near future..
