Tao se zhui ji ling (1994)
Violence and bloodshed... violence and bloodshed... VIOLENCE AND BLOOOODSHEEEED!!!
This simple line from an old MANOWAR-track easily sums up what makes this movie. Okay, add a bit of sex and rape and that's about it, because the story and characters are borrowed from STATE OF GRACE. There is really no need to summarize the plot, it is the same. To spice it a little bit up, the makers threw also a bit of TRUE ROMANCE in, or at least one of its coolest scenes.
But fans of HK-Cinema, Exploitation and of course heavy bloodshed will still be pleased. If you don't expect no depth at all, this is some fine entertainment. Phil Joanou and Quentin Tarantino should be pleased to have such dedicated fans in Asia.
The Black Bunch (1972)
Dull, boring, frustrating...
Very hard to watch sexploitation-movie, even for fans. If you are into sex scenes with unattractive men/women, this one's for you, if not, avoid it. It's just very dull to put one softcore scene after the other, so that it is very likely that you will fall asleep very soon.
A Time to Kill (1996)
Definitely not to be taken serious...
... because the "message" of this movie (and it seems to be made as a message movie) STINKS!!! If you kill somebody (no matter if it is human scumbag or not), you should be punished.
But that's John Grisham. Pretends to be liberal while being rotten to the core. Too sad that truly great actors wasted their talent for that piece of garbage.
Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964)
One of the best!
Absolutely hilarious!
One of the best movies ever made, without any doubt. Peter Sellers, George C. Scott... never forgotten
Hail Stanley!
