~Rob Marshell's Masterpiece!~
23 June 2010
I saw Chicago with my sister yesterday and we were hoping that he movie as going to be fun. We were fulfilled to the fullest. The movie Lavishly well done, energetic and fun to listen to, Chicago is easily on the top 10 best musicals ever. The music in the movie, the rhythm just utterly spellbinding, that's how incredible Chicago is. The movie mostly benefits from it extremely talented cast. Catherine Zeta-Jones shines in Chicago and gives the performance of her lifetime. She well-deserved her Oscar. John C. Rielly, Renee Zellwegger and Queen Latifa deserved their Oscar Nominations.

The cinematography, sound, art directions, and especially the costume design they were all expertly done. I resisting the urge to dance and tap my shoe. What an amazing production it took to create this film. Everyone deserved their Oscar Wins or nominations whomever took part in the production. 1920s Chicago comes alive in breathtaking detail. Everyone whom likes musicals or music should definitely have a listen and watch Chicago.

Rob Marshell truly out did himself in this masterpiece. 10/10

One of the most Breathtaking Animated Films of all time.
20 June 2010
I watched How to Train Your Dragon about 5 times now, and it never gets boring. It actually keeps on getting better and better with with more and more views. This is a huge accomplishment for DreamWorks Animation, it might actually be its Best Animated Feauture it yet. It is an amazing experience to watch this film in Cinema. The 3D is amazing and at times Breathtaking. I may of had the most fun that I've ever had in Cinema watching How to Train Your Dragon.

The script is really good and is has a lot of dramatic depth. This movie is for everyone. Adults and Kids will enjoy it equally and will love it at the end. This movie will probably become a series like Shrek. But I'm hoping this film doesn't get bad sequels like Shrek 3 and Shrek Forever After. Anyways this film will be most recognized for its beautiful animation.

Jonah Hex (2010)

This movie might single handedly destroy Megan Fox career
17 June 2010
Oh my god, what was I thinking to watch this film with my brother. I cannot believe I paid any money at all to watch this rubbish film.

THE BAD:

Megan Fox's acting

A script so bad that the writers should go back to 3rd grade. The movie is a mess. Very Noisy. Lacks imagination. Completely forgettable. I mean I could go on all day.

The only thing good about this movie is Josh Brolin, he gives a good performance as Jonah Hex, he tries to save this complete mess of a film. But sadly its too much of a bloated mess to save. I truly feel bad for him.

As for Megan Fox, she better start having some acting lessons, cause this movie has the potential to absolutely sent her career to the grave. After loosing her role in Transformers 3, she desperately needs to do something.

I can only give this movie 3 stars because Brolin, who you can see tried really hard and was successful portraying Jonah Hex. Its just sad that Jonah Hex was there, but the movie itself wasn't.

Kathryn Bigelow's Masterpiece
17 June 2010
I am truly sadden that this film got bashed so much. I hear reviews saying this film "sucks" or it has too many inaccuracies. Movies like Saving Private Ryan and Schindler's List have also "some" inaccuracies in them. (They are Masterpieces) It is pretty sad this film has been getting this bashed. It doesn't deserve to be.

The Hurt Locker is full of suspense and is directed beautifully by Kathryn Bigelow. I'd have to say this is movie truly captures the Iraq War. What a dangerous war it was for our soldiers. This movie shows us what our soldiers went through. This isn't bashing the American soldiers at all or even War. It gives us a great deal of appreciation for our troops who are risking their lives every single day for Us, Freedom and the U.S.A.

The true purpose of this movie is to not just praise the soldiers. But for one of the military's unrecognized heroes which are the technicians of the bombs squads who risk their lives to save others. This is the purpose of the movie to let everyone know what these people do.

This time and I know all of you out there, don't want to hear it, the critics are actually right. This movie is fantastically directed by Kathryn Bigelow and she rightfully deserved her Oscar for best director.

I know many Avatar fans out there probably rated this movie a 1, without even seeing it because it won Best Picture and Avatar didn't. This movie seems its suffering from the curse of Best Picture. More people have watched Avatar than the Hurt Locker. So of course this film has gotten bashed by so many. I think SOME of the bad reviews are the Avatar Fanboys who are just angry Avatar didn't win Best Picture.

Please don't just go along with the bad reviews this film has gotten from IMDb. Just try and watch this film.

The Hurt Locker is a war epic, that I hope it becomes appreciative as time passes. 9/10 Highly recommended.

A Beautiful Unforgettable Masterpiece that shows the true cost of war.
16 June 2010
I decided to watch Grave of the Fireflies yesterday. My friends told me it was extremely moving and sad. I hesitated at first, but then I said "Oh well, I'll give it a try." At the end of the film, I was crying my eyes out. This was the best animated film, I've ever seen. This is a moving depiction of the fates of cast-off children who become casualties of war.

This movie isn't your regular Animated Film. Pixar and Disney put films out there with happy endings. I'm not saying there bad films at all. They are also great pieces of work. But Grave of the Fireflies tells you the truth. This movie isn't trying to entertain you. It wants to inform you about how war is really like. There were many moments in the movie, that just brought me to tears.

I am kind of upset, that this movie didn't get many awards as it should. In that regards, it is VERY underrated and it is kind of thrown apart. When it should really be respected and praise it. If this movie was made in our time period right now. I would be 100% sure this would of Won an Oscar for Best Animated Film. This is Studio Ghilbi's best movie they have ever released.

I truly advice you to bring a handkerchief, cause chances are that you will cry.

An Emotional Epic Animated Film, that I recommend everyone to watch.

~One of the most Powerful Films ever made.~
14 June 2010
Judgement At Nurmeberg is a 1961 film about four Nazi Judges are in trial for crimes against humanity. Well let me just start out by saying that this is a very sad, powerful film. I was expecting it to be very boring and I guess I underestimated it. The film is also very well written, so well written that actually it makes you really think. I'm happy that it won an Oscar for writing.

The best quality about the film HAS to be the acting. Judy Garland, I think should of won a Supporting Actress. This is her finest performance ever, and I'm sad she didn't win one. Maximilian Schell gives the performance of a lifetime in his role as the defense attorney for the judges. He truly deserved his Oscar because he was very powerful. Spencer Tracy also gave a quite exceptional performance as he always had. (He isn't a Two-Time Oscar Winner for nothing. As for Montgomery Clift he deserved his Oscar Nomination. I am kind of ticked off that Marlene didn't get an Oscar Nomination for Best Supporting Actress. I always feel she is underrated.

As for Stanley Kramer (The Director) he had real talent and this film shows it. The 9-Time Oscar nominated Director should've of won an Oscar for Best Director for Judgement at Nuremberg. I hope his talent though will be remembered for many years to come.

My Overall Consensus is that the movie definitely succeeds due to the Extraordinary Performances and the Quite Exceptional Writing.

You Should see this Film. 10/10

Toy Story 3 (2010)

~One of the Best Trilogies of All Time~
27 May 2010
I attended a special screening for Toy Story 3. I went in with HIGH expectations. I LOVED the first two Toy Stories movies. Toy Story is a beloved franchise that almost everyone that I know loves the first two films. Now how about the 3rd film? Well all I could say is that it lived up to my unbelievably HIGH expectations and then some. This is such a good film. It has the laughs, magic and best of all the entertainment. The new characters in the movie feel like they were in the previous two films, they were that engaging and really worked well in the movie. The best part of the movie has to be the ending, I almost cried and was moved to just about to tears. I truly believe that this is one of the best Trilogies of all time. It might even rival the Lord of the Rings Trilogy.

This movie has a real chance to become the First Animated Film to win Best Picture. I surely would not be surprised.

Didn't capture the magic of the first two. But better than the 3rd Installment.
5 May 2010
I saw "Shrek Forever After" on special screenings and I really hoped it would live up to the first 2 films. But at the end of the day, it wasn't as good or magical. I kind of felt disappointed because even though the Third Installment was bad I was hoping they went back and recognize their mistakes. But this movie does have its strong points, it was quite funny and entertaining. There were moments in there that felt like the first two films, and overall it is a very enjoyable ride that even though it doesn't live quite up to the first two films. It is worth your money just to have fun with it.

7.2/10 I'd recommend people to see this film, but don't go in it with HIGH expectations.

Oceans (2008)

Alice in Aqualand.
23 April 2010
Disney introduces a new chapter in its nature films called "Oceans". I wanted to see the film because I wanted to be fascinated and learn more. The movie looked spectacular, I mean they looked way better than some special effects, I've seen from like Transformers, Clash of the Titans. I mean some scenes were utterly breathtaking. Its a shame some people are too busy with work to appreciate Nature's beauty. Although it looked beautiful, it was not perfect. I found that the movie didn't have too much details or informations about the Earth's Oceans and that kind of disappointed me.

Overall I found the movie beautiful and entertaining. 8.0/10

~Great CGI effects, very enjoyable, worth your money~
27 March 2010
I saw Clash of the Titans in an early screening, and I didn't expect the film to be good. I thought it was just another ripoff. But at the end of the film I was really liked it. The creatures looked great, the acting was good. And I thought it would be corny, but the majority of it wasn't at all. I am actually really glad that I saw this film. I really think Sam Worthington did an okay job as an actor, it was certainly believable. If he keeps doing films like Avatar and Clash of the Titans, he could have a long career in his life.

The special effects and the CGI was okay. However there was some disappointments, the Kraken scene felt very rushed and it wasn't as epic as I wanted it to. There should've been more fighting scenes to make up for the poor story.

An overall fun, good CGI film that is recommended. 7/10

Alice in Wonderland (I) (2010)
6/10
A Visual Delight, But I expected way more.
4 March 2010
Going to theaters to watch Alice in Wonderland, I had very high expectations because of the people in it. The wonderful Tim Burton and Jhonny Depp partnering up again and that made me excited. (Their History together include classics such as Edward Scissorhands, Ed Wood, Sleepy Hollow and etc.) I was also very excited for the two well respected Oscar-nominated Actresses (Helena Bonham Carter and Anne Hathaway) But most importantly is that I love Alice in Wonderland the book and the 1951 classic animated Disney feauture.

Anyways the movie review itself: I thought Alice in Wonderland looked beautiful and even breathtaking at times. You got to admit that the movie looked beautiful visually. But emotionally it didn't really connect and lost a lot of its heart to the original.I was very disappointed with Tim Burton, I thought that he knew what the movie should of been like. This is not Tim Burton's best at all. Hopefully in 10-15 years time, another remake of this movie will be created and hopefully it would be better.

Overall: Alice in Wonderland deserves a much better remake, but the movie itself was visually breathtaking and it was a really fun movie. 6.5/10

The Wolfman (2010)
8/10
A Worthy Remake, Very Dark.
8 February 2010
I saw "The Wolfman" in special screenings Sunday and to be truly honest, I didn't know what to expect. I saw the original 1941 version and I really liked it and it is a classic. I was afraid that the new remake would of been very tacky and that was my biggest concern. But I have to say after I watched this movie. I was very impressed. Benicio Del Toro (An Oscar Winner) portrays the role very well and believable. The cast is very well known with people such as Emily Blunt and the great Anthony Hopkins. They don't technically give "Oscar Worthy performances", but their acting certainly is very believable. The movie oozes mysteriousness and the very Dark mood of it makes it very enjoyable. But the movie has some flaws like the story is not original and has been portrayed at least a million times. Also there are "some" tacky parts in the movie, but they aren't very important at all. So my overall consensus about the "Wolfman" is that it is a worthy remake the 1941 classic and it will gain many new fans.

I highly recommend people to watch this movie, it is very entertaining and Dark.

Dear John (I) (2010)

A True Pearl.
30 January 2010
I saw "Dear John" at a special screening and I wasn't expecting much. I thought it was going to be a decent romance film. I hoped this movie came halfway as good as "The Notebook". My very low expectations of this film were pretty cynical. But I said Hey, what could happen? And when the movie finished, I was fulfilled. I didn't think it was going to be one of the best romance movies ever and it definitely wasn't. This movie is definitely for couples. The girls will like it cause they can connect with it.I recommend for everyone to see this film. It is touching, okay acting, and it does stick to the book. This film doesn't come close to the "Notebook", but people will like it no matter what. So if you want to buy a sad, romantic film. Then I'd recommend this film.

Avatar: The Game (2009 Video Game)
5/10
Avatar the movie is groundbreaking, but for the game, sadly it can not be said the same.
19 January 2010
I was very excited to play Avatar, since I adored the movie. I got my game systems and turned on the game. I saw that the graphics were normal. I mean the game was kind of ordinary, I didn't expect this game to be so mediocre. I think James Cameron didn't give a crap about the game, he just wanted the movie to be awesome. I understand that though, but he should of have it like different from other games, like how Avatar was to the movies.

Overall I have to give this game a 5, sadly. Because even though it was fun and good graphics, this game does not live up to the movie. It doesn't have to. I would recommend people who love action packed games, but no one else. I hope James Cameron sequel to Avatar makes a better sequel in the video game version.

5/10 5.6 Just decent

Embrace the Magic
16 January 2010
Kingdom Hearts, I'm saying this straight out, it is one of the best video games ever created. Video Games don't get much better than this, it is absolutely magical. The kind of magic you got from Disney 50 years ago with movies like Bambi or Snow White. The imagery is way ahead for its time. (2002) If you don't like this game, I have no clue what to say to you expect good luck ever liking a video game.

This movie is enchanting to the point you want the characters to be real. I mean it is quite an addicting game. It soothes your mind and takes all the problems you have on the real world. I give this movie a 10/10. I would rate it way higher if I could.

Meg Ryan's best performance
11 January 2010
What can I saw about City of Angels. Well just one word pretty much will sum it up, amazing! The acting from Meg Ryan and Nicolas Cage are top notch performances. In the end of the movie I cried because it was so sad. I mean you cannot hate this movie. All the haters probably never even seen this movie before judging it.... This movie is like the notebook, sad, romantic I mean its great! YOU NEED TO SEE THIS MOVIE IF YOU LIKE ROMANTIC MOVIES. I GIVE THIS MOVIE A FULL HEARTED 10/10. MEG RYAN'S MASTERPIECE ACTING MADE ME DROOL. The ending was very sad. A truly touching film. :) VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, THIS FILM WILL BECOME MORE POPULAR IN TIME AND WILL BE RATED MUCH HIGHER THAN IT IS NOW. I DON'T LIKE THE FACT THAT THIS MOVIE ONLY GOT A 6.4?!! That is so underatted.

In the Name of Love (2008–2009)
7/10
You don't need to know Spanish, to understand what it's meaning.
1 January 2010
En Nombre Del Amor (In the name of love) is a Mexican soap opera, I watch it in the Spanish Channel in the U.S. This is a very predictable, scandalous, cheesy at times show. It is a very addictive show, this is pretty much the definition of a soap opera. I mean everybody is cheating on everybody else. Drama always happens, you know the usual. There are some pretty outrageous things like this women pays her doctor to tell this guy that he's the father of her baby, when he's not. I mean I have to give them that, that it is new.

Overall I give this movie a 7 because it can be too predictable at times, but it is a fun show and I recommended to people who like soap operas. But I like Sorteligio better. :P 7/10

The Best of the 50s Sci-fi.
29 December 2009
When I first heard of The Day the Earth Stood Still back 2 years ago, I thought it was a bad, cheap, cheesy "B" movie. But I decided to watch in AMC and I'm glad that I did. This movie revolutionized all Sci-Fi movies after it. Before 1951, Sci-Fi movies were pretty much mindless with the exception of Metropolis. But after this movie they started to have more meaning to them. This movie also was created around the time when UFO sightings were becoming rapidly increasing. So the movie came in the perfect time to fuel ideas of what the UFOs wanted or Aliens I guess. The title of this movie is great, I mean who would of thought of this title, only a genius!

This was overall a very interesting, philosophical movie. I recommend everyone to see this film. It is highly influential and will stick to Cinema History for a very long time to come, possibly forever. I hope this film will not be forgetton, if it is, it would be a very sad day in Cinema indeed. Please go watch this movie, and then watch the remake of it. Which was a very bad remake because it didn't gave the same feeling as the original.

King Kong is the King of them all!
29 December 2009
I saw this movie about 3 days ago, I was interested how the special effects looked nearly 80 years ago. I was surprised, this movie was ahead of its time and is a huge influence in today's modern cinema. Unlike most monster movies, this one had heart. You felt bad for the creature at the end. King Kong is truly the 8th Wonder of the World. The actors also gave very convincing performances! I highly recommend people to watch this movie! This movie will stand tall for many years to come, and it will be known as the Grandfather of all Epics! Highly recommended, a true classic that will be remembered for decades, even centuries to come! Long live King Kong!

Amazing in every sense of the world. Perfect Cast. Perfect film. 10/10
29 September 2009
This was one of the best movies I have seen. Lets start how the movie looked, it looked incredibly far beyond any movie in 2001. I mean come on some of the views were astonoshing. It is kind of cheap to think of it because the movie only cost 94,000,000 dollars to create, I thought it was like 200-300 million. Anyways the best part of the film I think was when Gandalf encounters the dark underworld spirit Balrog. And then it takes Gandlaf. I mean that was perfect, it gave me goosebumps all over. Peter Jackson will always be known for his monumental success the Lord of the Rings trilogies. I congratulate him in making this perfect movie, he deserves all of the Oscars he won. Definitely. 10/10 Amazing in every part of the movie.

Love him or hate em, he's an AMAZING FILMMAKER.
10 September 2009
Michael Moore, possibly the most controversial director of all time. Even more controversial than him are his movies. His movies include a Sicko, Fahrenheit 9/11, Bowling for Columbine, etc. Each one attacking the CONSERVATIVE ideas.

Well he has put out a new movie. Capitalism:A Love Story. I saw this movie and I have to say it's fun, informative, Michael Moore doesn't have a 2 hour long boring movie, which the average joe wouldn't understand. He tells the movie like narrator and even is kind of comedic and then switches to serious in a couple of words. I loved this movie. I don't agree with him on some of the ideas. But I get what he's saying.

Very interesting movie. Even if you don't agree with him, you'll still be fascinated.

I loved Renee Zellweger in this movie!
21 August 2009
An overall great movie, this movie really captured the 1950s era. It had the clothes, the atmosphere, the music. It brought me back in the 1950s. Renee was very good in this movie and so was Kevin Bacon.

A very funny movie and I think it is something a family would enjoy if they watch it together even though it is rated PG-13. Expect for some scenes you might want to cover their eyes or shut their ears. :)

I wasn't disappointed from this movie at all. :) 8/10 A very solid performance from Renee and Kevin. :) I recommend for people to watch it.

Oh and also peace. :) lol

Proves to people, you don't need to spend 200 million dollars for a movie to make it great!
21 August 2009
District 9 really surprised me, the trailer wasn't very good, because it didn't give you anything. But when I saw this movie..... OMG it is really good. The best Sci-Fi movie of the 2000s. This movie only cost 30 million to make. It is way better than Transformers Revenge of the Fallen which cost 200,000,000 dollars. Peter Jackson is one the greatest filmmakers of all time from his Lord of the Rings trilogies to King Kong. He has done it again with District 9. I think Peter Jackson didn't want the trailer to show a lot of the movie because he wanted to surprise people. Boy did he surprise me!

I recommend people to watch this movie. You won't be disappointed. 10/10

30 July 2009
I highly recommend people to watch this film. It doesn't matter what your age is. This film is appropriate for everyone. It is a cute, enjoyable, fun movie. It is just great. Many people can relate to this film. Because WALL-E is kind of like an underdog, we all cheer for him. :) This movie shows us very important advice to never give up! The music in this movie was very sad. Overall I love this movie, it has so much going for it. You won''t be disappointed. So I had to give this movie a 10/10, I liked this movie more than other previous Animated movies like the Lion King. For kids, this movie is enjoyable and cute. For adults/teens it is much more than that! 10/10
