Loved it. With one exception.

Super show. Well written and cast. And a lovely premise.

The only thing I kept getting distracted by was Jennifer Jason Leigh's facial surgeries. It's always uncomfortable for the public to notice these things. But Hollywood just doesn't seem to get it. Or, they don't care.

Complete Disappointment
3 October 2021
David Chase should be embarrassed by this. We, who are huge fans of the "Sopranos" deserved much more than this.

Dickie Moltisanti was not a character in the show. Why in the world is he the main character of this movie?

And,yes, the racial issue was weirdly inserted.

So tired of being disappointed.

That's it. Review title says it all.

It's a gross series and was a waste of time.

What Happened? Season 3 Was Awful!
18 September 2021
I totally enjoyed seasons one and two but the third was just awful. I am looking forward to another season and I certainly hope that it brings the same quality as the series started with.

Hurtful Let Down
12 April 2021
After being a dedicated fan for the entire series, I was so sad that it was ending. The finale was just such a huge let down. When will Hollywood stop with the political crap in their shows? We watched the Gallagher's for ten years because we cared about them. We don't want nor need your political views, especially when they are so poorly written into a stupid scene. This episode did the opposite of what fans wanted and that was some closure. You actually introduced more questions and in an obvious and dumb way.

You let us down, guys.

I Surprisingly Enjoyed It
6 March 2021
The cameos and the music were terrific. It's literally colorful and elegant as far as sets and costumes. The throw back references are very funny. Yes, I could have done without any political garbage but the movie isn't going to sway any opinions or beliefs. Seemed as though they took time to write a quality script. The young actors were really good. We all can agree that the entertainment industry should stick to entertainment and keep politics and "wokeness" out of it. We aren't asking for your views.

Unlikeable
15 November 2020
I adore the baking contests on Food Network, but this one has managed to gather the most unlikeable host, group of judges and contestants. It feels and watches just like a rip-off of the others. This show does a dis-service to any talent that the bakers have.

What a Waste of a Premise
12 May 2020
This concept is a fun one. The way these people have gone about producing this show is abysmal. The host and judges are absolutely unlikeable and a total turn off. Talentless and annoying. The show could be something really good if it were done in a way for people to take it seriously. Get rid of Nick Cannon and all of the judges. They are awful. Then, redo it from the ground up.

Sick and Sad
13 April 2020
This is an insane lifestyle and a cult for young people. The adults are sick to put these kids through what they do for a nothing trophy in cheerleading. Their individual athleticism should be channeled into legitimate sports. Many or even most of these young people are in need of counseling. So sad. Please do not patronize this show. Netflix should also be ashamed.

Completely Enjoyed The Show
23 March 2020
I adore this show. Ru is someone who I am a big fan of and have been for years. It is a mistake that this series was not renewed. I am a middle-aged, white, grandmother from the Midwest, and I would absolutely watch a continued series. The show is light-hearted and funny yet brings to light many social and personal issues in a well done way. Thanks, Mr. Charles for more enjoyment on television.

Pathological Liars Abound
22 March 2020
Interesting series on many levels, but everyone featured is a pathological liar and experienced various mental illnesses. The truth means nothing to these people, so it will never be found. Protecting the animals is the only thing we should care about here. The actual "animals" are the featured people: Baskin, Antle and Schreibvogel. Sick, awful human beings.

Season 3 Childish
9 July 2019
The sloppy writing, directing and acting are over the top in this season. All of the actors have become self-conscious of themselves and too fond of themselves. The writing is just childish. This should have been a season of come backs and excitement, but it is not. Someone, please tell your make up people that women in dire, life-threatening situations don't show up in full make up and lipstick. Please tell the special effects people that blood doesn't turn orange as it dries. The whole season is more of a comic book for teenagers than entertaining for adults. If that is the production goal, they have succeeded. I am not going to watch in the future should they continue the series.

Just Not There
1 September 2018
This second "season" (and it's the usual year long wait between seasons) is slow and dark. And I mean, dark. I understand that the subject matter is dark. The story is dark. However, the producers have made these episodes literally dark to watch. There is no color, no lighting. I found no artistic credit for this. I won't watch the entire season. It has been done and the acting from some of the cast is less than stellar. It's hard to get into a series when there is not a single, likable character. You won't like anyone in this show I won't be watching the rest of the "season".

Good, but Slow Moving
26 June 2018
The ten episodes were worth watching but they certainly did drag on. Much of the same dialogue occurred and scenes repeated themselves. The story could have been told with few episodes. The cast was led b professionals, but some of the not-so-known actors were very "average" in their performances. The story line itself was not intriguing in that we have seen so much of this. However, our inner beings always want for justice so we watch again. Hoping that it ends differently and hoping that we never see it happen again. But it does. To whomever insisted that KJ's character have the left side of her hair constantly hanging down should be shown the door. What a distraction and an insult to the character. Unkempt on purpose? Overall, it's worth watching but certainly not something to rush toward if there are other shows in your queue.

Intriuging
20 June 2018
I caught onto this show years after it was aired, but that didn't matter. When I find a show that captures my attention, I binge through it. I liked this very much. The middle seasons get muddled with content and too many characters, but ultimately, the messages stayed the same. I would very much have preferred not to get to the last season and have to see Mary Steenburgen's carved face as a regular. She is one of my least favorite "actresses". Would have cast that role very differently. Other than that, Timothy Olyphant is terrific and Waldon Goggins is mesmerizing.

Absolutely Wonderful
3 April 2018
My entire family was thrilled with the first two episodes. It was spot on with writing, characters and story lines. So great to see them all back. It would not have been as terrific if not for the original cast members. Looking forward to the rest of the season and I have a lot of confidence that Roseanne and the rest of the team will not let us down. One detail noticed was the changed photos on the mantle during the scene at the start of the second episode. Loved seeing Shelly Winters and Estelle Parsons but it was noticeable that the pictures changed mid-scene.

You Hurt Me
20 October 2017
Like most of the other reviewers, I, too am a big fan of the show and have been from the beginning. Apparently, none of the people involved with the show can get it through their minds that they are wealthy and famous because they originally, entertained people. We don't want your political views nor your agendas to be expressed in an "in your face" approach when we watch the show. We adored your characters and grew with them during the original duration. We celebrated it coming back to television, but we were shown a political diatribe woven within what was supposed to be a happy and funny script. Yet, we had to keep trying. We couldn't believe that our favorite comedy would let us down in this way. Surely, they got their angst and hatred out of their systems and we would again, be entertained. Turns out, we have not been all that entertained. There have been some fantastic moments and lines. But then you keep pushing and pushing as if this were your post-grad thesis and your future depended on it being accepted. Stop it. Your approach is backfiring.

Fantastic
25 February 2016
Wish I would have caught on from the beginning, but I will watch all episodes. This is an extremely witty and tightly written show. Very funny. The writing and acting work perfectly together. The cast is a wonderful blend of seasoned and lesser-known actors and they are all terrific. I really hope that the show's popularity has staying-power, but that may depend on the intelligence of the audience. Even the kids in the cast are wonderful. I've looked up the cast members whom I didn't know within IMDb so that I could get to know them a little better. Keep up the good work. I really appreciate what you're doing. I have been recommending to others.

Overall Rating Has Dropped
15 September 2015
Very disappointing after looking forward to Season 4. The writing is much more lax and the attempts at sprinkled in humor are sad and misplaced. Katie Sackhoff as "Vic" is sporting her carved and collagen mouth as well as wearing low cut tshirts under an open uniform shirt each episode. The psychologist in episode 4 appears to have visited Sackhoff's plastic surgeon, too. I don't understand where the good, solid writing has gone. The character of "Henry" is dangerously close to becoming a caricature of a Native American. "Vic" and "Ferg" are written as dumber than ever and forensics are laughable. Not a good season. Was much more of a series when originally aired on television.

Some Reservations
29 July 2015
Acting is very good but the writing is only "good". The plot revealed itself very early on and became a predictable waiting game of when they would show the scenes that depicted the past secrets and crimes. One of the things that stood out for me was the sound production. It really bothered me! The sounds of the surroundings were so loud! At times they over-took the dialogue from the actors. If you want to hear crunching of gravel underneath tires, rain drops hitting hard surfaces, etc., then this is a "10". I liked the show and would watch Season 2. Just would like to see the pace picked up as it moves slowly throughout each episode.

Cute
23 July 2014
Cute movie. That's about it. A few, funny references and jokes. It's not at all an 8/10. I rented it from Redbox for $1.20 and it was well worth that price. I will write more lines because IMDb insists on a minimum content. Not sure why. My opinions about the movie were easily expressed in the first, two sentences. I will simply fill in wasted words and a waste of my time because this site has become so full of itself. Used to be a genuine place to investigate and review movies. Now, we have to log in, verify ourselves as ourselves and type encrypted words to be "accepted". Seems to me that Hollywood doesn't really want "every man's" opinions. They are happy to stay within their own world.

Enjoyable!
23 July 2014
Really fun movie with a wonderful cast! There are so many subtle lines, jokes and innuendos that it's worth watching twice. There has been lots of talk about the cameos. They are fun, but certainly do not make the film. The main characters are so likable and so well-acted that I was intrigued from the beginning. That's my M.O. If I'm not interested early on, I likely won't like the movie. There has to be something that makes one pursue the rest of the story. The friend whom I watched the movie with felt a "Monty Python" vibe, which I didn't. I felt a Cohen Brothers vibe. Very worth watching. The characters are very well done and the young actor playing, "Zero" is terrific.

Worth Renting
23 July 2014
This is a very good movie and I enjoyed Will Forte's performance very much. I didn't know him from anything other than SNL. I could relate to the boredom of the lives these people portrayed as my family was originally from a near by state. We left. The black and white photography added to the film and wasn't just a hype for attention. Bruce Dern was terrific. He represented so many people in that age range and in that point in their lives. Sweetly done. June Squibb as "Kate" was very convincing as a horrible person. There were a couple of very stereotypical characters, but overall the cast and all of the extras were great.

Nothing Special
23 July 2014
This is slow-moving and full of cliché's. It's a very stereotypical "Hollywood" film in that it won awards and had press like the first moon landing. Cast was good, but each one of them has acted better in previous work. I did like Louis CK in this movie. Read one of the "trivia facts" stating that wardrobe made several duplicate dresses for Lawrence to wear because she liked to eat Doritos and stained her wardrobe. This is the type of crap that makes normal people hate Hollywood. How about instead of wasting time and money on duplicate dresses, you tell the cast members to stop eating on the set, stop damaging company property and stick to the work at hand. You know, like the real world.
