Nobody (I) (2021)

Fast paced escapism
30 July 2021
This film is fast paced escapism that does not require any thinking from it's audience. Nor does it bear any resemblance to realty.

Expect cartoon violence and a well worn formula that seems to work.

It's an okay yet predictable watch. But it's not a film that most people would want to watch more than one time.

Ferocious Planet (2011 TV Movie)
3/10
One of the worst films I have ever seen.
22 October 2020
Okay so you're probably a fan of Stargate Atlantis and you saw that Joe Flanigan was in this movie. And then you noticed that Joe was playing a colonel and that you might see some of that old John Sheppard magic.

Well don't bother! Because this movie sucks! If this movie was on the other side of the Earth Stargate then Jack O'neill would send a nuke to make sure it never got through! And you would thank him for doing so.

This movie has no redeeming qualities. it is a bad movie with bad acting and bad cgi. The main plot could have been developed given decent writers and some competent actors. But I guess that would have made too much common sense. I do not understand how these films get released?

This is a very bad movie so do not waste your time. I have given it three stars one for Joe and one each for the sound and camer guys who did their jobs. Remember curiosity killed the cat!

Star Trek: Picard (2020–2023)

Engage towards disappointment!
18 April 2020
StartTrek Picard is slow,.painfully slow.. Sir Patrick Stewart is 79 years old and when he speaks he sounds like a man who is fighting to get his words out. Harry Treadaway looks and sounds more hipster than Romulan.

StarTrek not unlike the recent StarWars films has become a shadow of its former self.. After the disappointment of Star Trek Discovery.I was hoping that Jean-Luc Picard might save the day. That hope was quickly dashed! Outside of nostalgia StarTrek Picard has little to offer us StarTrek/Sci-Fi fans..

The Mummy (2017)

Do yourself a huge favour, and give this movie a miss!
31 July 2017
Okay, so I started watching this movie thinking that it could turn out good. Afterall Tom Cruise does a pretty decent acting job in every movie hes been in right? wrong! Thirty minutes in, and you're already deciding if you should cut your losses, and leave or carry on. I mean how bad could this film get? wrong again! Just when you thought it was safe Mr Russell Crow decides to let loose an accent that is so bad, it makes the one he did in Robin Hood seem like a Richard Burton masterpiece. This has to be one of the worst films I have seen in a long time. I have never seen Tom Cruise this bad since the infamous sofa incident, I can't decide if hes playing for laughs or if someone has slipped him a Mickey Finn. Annabelle Wallis, and Sofia Boutella provide the love interest, and Mummy, and while they wont be wining any awards for this film, both put in more effort than Mr Cruise, and Mr Crow. This movie is about a Mummy, and like a Mummy, it should be buried, and forgotten forever!

Salvation (2017–2018)

Not as bad as some people are saying

Warning: Spoilers
I'm a huge fan of sci-fi, but I wondered how a story about a comet that could wipe out all life on Earth could be made into a decent TV series.

Two episodes in, and I'm enjoying this series. It has some likable characters such as the tech billionire, the MIT student, and his love interest.

There's also a nosy reporter who is trying to find out whats going on. The so far unseen government hit men who are killing anyone who knows too much. The on the run professor, and the government official, and his love interest and their secret government programme to stop the comet hitting Earth.

Its worth watching the first episode to see if you like it or not.

Morons in Space
21 July 2017
The only saving grace about this film was Michael Fassbender, who does an excellent job playing David/Walter. So 3 stars are for him. The movie itself is just not believable. We are asked to believe that(the ships crew)these morons would pass any selection test, and be put in charge of a massively expensive colonization ship. The crew from Armageddon look competent in comparison.

In fact you could walk into any pub on a Saturday night, and just pick random people, and you would have a more competent crew than the one in this film. The result of this was that I just did not care what happened to the crew, as they kept making irrational, and idiotic decisions.

The other 2 stars I gave were for the CGI,and sets, though there was one explosion that looked like they had run out of money, and they had got some kid to do the effects on his home computer. The movie is very predictable in places, and there is nothing to make the viewer jump out of their skin. I hope the other Alien movies will be better written, with more believable characters.

There are a lot of worse movies out there which is another reason I gave it a 5. But if you are an Alien fan you are going to watch it anyway. This is not a great movie, but if you have a few hours to spend there are worse things you could do with your time.
