Networker Baire (2021)
Lots of potential but wasted nonetheless
Very disjointed storytelling and lots of unnecessary melodrama. Photography and cinematography was commendable but it lacks where every Bangla telefilm/film produced these days lack- substantial plot and/or build-up.
Simple things make no sense like how are they calling people to talk about their sap stories if indeed they are out of network coverage?
What was the ultimate point of getting out of coverage? Was it the journey that they meant to highlight or the destination? Or did they just bank on a shock ending?
I bet with a little bit of effort they could have set the characters up nicely so that the end really matters instead of pulling away to reveal side stories that hardly mean anything.
Decent effort. Not really worth the time though.
The Walking Dead: Squeeze (2020)
Who was in charge of the LIGHTS???
It could have been a great episode if you could actually SEE what's happening! I mean half of the episode you are just hoping to get a glimpse of the characters catching light, it gets so unbearable that you actually STOP watching and hope that the end of the episode will give you a sense of what had happened! I mean what hell was the director doing!? Also Carrol running the opposite direction to her team every chance she gets just made no sense. I was hoping to give TWD a shot after a long hiatus but season 9 just got my hopes up for nothing.
Byzantium (2012)
The same tale told a different way
I saw this movie as a part of a horror fest although there is not too many things in the movie that classifies it as a part of that genre.
Byzantium was quite interesting although a few minutes in vampire-movie lovers will already notice that familiar feel like this story has already been told, that being said the movie does a good job in presenting the story. Even after watching various sorts of vampire movies this still kept me interested, the story unfolds slowly and the acting was great, good enough to keep you interested till the end.
All in all Byzantium does a good job in presenting a vampire story differently, it definitely does not stay very attached with well known vampire myths but I felt that was a nice change and a 7/10 is justified.
