Vinyl: E.A.B. (2016)
Season 1, Episode 8
9/10
The positive vibes we've been waiting for.
4 April 2016
Agony, all those previous seven episodes mostly shows us about. Now this, the eighth episode, finally able to balance it with some progressions.

It has been depressing just to see people get depressed, and music developments in this show were somehow jeopardized by all that. How Richie Finestra gone through his miserable decisions left Vinyl's captivating music tracks as ornaments, which luckily though, keep some audiences to still have the pleasure of hearing the show. E.A.B. however, did a splendid job bringing fresh air as it was a well written and directed episode.

We would still encounter devastating problems, but at least there were cheers between miseries; ones that not created by drug effects. Talents been discovered and in development. American Century which soon become Alibi Records finally found their rays of hope to save them out of extinction. The Nasty Bits was getting their major role in the company and in the show itself, and all other stuffs within surely brought a new chemistry between characters. Also the choice of songs was marvelous as always, making E.A.B. the strongest episode yet.

The waiting of further episodes has never been become this interesting. Rock n Roll and other stuffs in Vinyl are a rare treat, so I personally hope that further episodes will be just as amazing or even better.

Beautiful, but not as a drama
2 August 2015
Beautiful girl eating beautifully in a beautiful environment, isn't that pleasant? Indeed. My first impression about this movie is that this one is really pleasing to the eye.

Its always been interesting to watch or read about rural Japan. To know how neat and peaceful it can be, sure is amazing for me. Furthermore, the movie provides more details about living in it. All the cooking and planting tips are neatly shown, but then the dramas get a bit sloppy. There are some wasteful scenes that bother.

The story is very interesting but we can easily lose our grip to it by the long shown details of the processes of the main character's daily life. The movie provides lots of details yet lacking the essential others, like heartwarming social life of rural area (its shown, but lacking and not well-drawn).

I don't usually bothered by the acting but I really was in this one. All the cooking are amazing, but they don't look that exciting. Food featured movies usually gives us the sensation of cooking excitement. But I think the actress failed by only giving the charm of her beauty and putting the beauty of cooking aside. Her expression also doesn't tell so much about how good her cooking is. I know that the main character having a rough and tough life, but since the movie focused on food making, I think it should detail the joy of it more.

Anyway, the movie is good or I'd rather say it is 'fresh' and I'll recommend people to watch it. Especially for those Hashimoto Ai's fans, this movie will certainly be a delight, haha. I really looking forward for the Winter/Spring and I hope it could answer all my questions for this one.

P.S. If you are looking for other movies featuring rural Japan, here are some that I remember: A Gentle Breeze in the Village(2006), Wood Job!(2014), and 700 Days of Battle: Us vs The Police(2008).

Game of Thrones: Mother's Mercy (2015)
Season 5, Episode 10
7/10
This finale gave less surprise than the last two episodes.

Warning: Spoilers
First of all, this review is merely based on my view.

The latest episodes more or less drew huge amounts of excitements and the audiences' curiosities of what will happen next. Nothing's wrong, I guess, if we wanted a greater ending.

The episode was good. But some things have been bugging me a lot. As the developer said, "This episode will break the internet." Well, it might be, but for me it was forced to be. Most of the story lines were somehow predictable, the previous episodes provided us many clues. Also, the characters' gestures were somehow showing us what is coming. I personally think that the surprises are getting monotonous (like deaths, or, naked body). Maybe I was saying all this because I just can't forget what "Hardhome" gave me. Man, that, is what I call real surprise.

I was expecting more, but I think its okay. Remembering that this whole seasons was such a thrill. I love this show very much, and I'm definitely looking forward for all the following seasons.

The Walking Dead: Spend (2015)
Season 5, Episode 14
8/10
While it brought back the utter terror, this episode gave me a little disappointment.

Warning: Spoilers
Tense and frightening, as it has been expected from TWD. It's been quite a while since this show gives the audience such thrills especially for those non-comic book readers. By this episode, TWD made another promising hype.

The paradise-like fortress starting to show it flaws, while on the other hand this episode shows us again of how bad can a supply run turns out to be. Rick's team has an advanced level of surviving outside, it would be no wonder that sooner or later they're gonna lead the Alexandrian. But to join forces, achieving a same vision is another story. This kind of complexity sure is intriguing for us to follow.

This episode is good and definitely worth to watch, really, but there is something that been bothering me. Lately I feel some of the original characters' role become biased. Daryl, for example. He is one of the original characters of the TV series which taking a major role in the survival and also has made lots of fans, obviously. I feel that he is slowly fades, or let's just say slowly lost his role in the group. Let's say that its another plot line that will lead to another surprise. But why does it bother me? Because I read the comic books too. He is not exist there while the TV version is starting to keep up on the comic book story line just with a few changes. Nothing strange if many new characters would die in the following episodes.

There were already some major improvements for the TV version, especially for the survivors, and I mention Daryl again for this as an example. That will be fine, of course, IF the TV series make a stand alone story furthermore. Having some different plot lines and ending would be great, in my opinion. AMC's TWD story somehow has been TOO FAR GONE from the original comic book story. To synchronize them again would be unwise. Some stuffs are just not meant to be visualized on TV. Still, its not that the show will be ruined anyway.

A good episode, again, and further episodes sure will be interesting. Since it is a series, my thoughts of it are temporary. I will love the series as I have been except if they'll involve any tiger.
