A movie making masterpiece
7 January 2023
A masterpiece of movie making. The most complex sequence shots I have seen. The movie depicts the events of a civil unrest after a boy is killed by police. Mindblowing effort. Camera, sound design, music, performances are all super. Its a small story. Sure to leave its mark on viewers. Making is everything. That is all it needs. The story revolves around 4 brothers from the neighborhood of Athena. Youngest one dies at the hands of police and a civil unrest is on. Its a battle between belief, justice and hope. The first 11 minute sequence is going to blow your mind that closes with a damn good frame backed up by great music.

Terrific narration, music, screenplay
7 January 2023
A movie that excels in its script, making and narration. Movie shows an evening of a group of bachelors sharing a house, boozing and has common interest in movies. One of them starts narrating his movie scripts. Each one so dark, intense and haunting by itself. The movie subtly touches upon a lot of issues like castism, freedom of artist, giving due credit to artist, dream of kovie making. There is no spoon feeding in the movie. Location is just a house and the terrace with 5 characters. The long sequences will pierce through to you. Brilliant camera and sound. Vishnu Govindhan gives an excellent performance. All in a gripping plot. Serious watch requested.

Great story with potential, but spoiled by dubbing and screenplay
6 January 2023
Good one. A folklore thriller story, a genre that has been missing in Malayalam for a while. The story and cinematography are excellent. The practical effects does a great job. Negatives are the length and slow first half. Dubbing has been inconsistent with Shine's character. Aishwarya could not do much as her expressions does not do justice to the scene's potential impact. The editing towards climax is lousy with repeated bg music. Could have been much better. Many unwanted characters including Aishu's brother and Shine's mother. Their scenes doesn't add any impact to the script. Surabhi's character is amazing.

Sweet as everyone's home

A beautiful story of a father's attempts to reconnect with his sons whose lives have shrunk to their mobile phones. A touching narration, brilliant acting and direction. It's everyone's home and the place you ought to be. Indrans is just marvellous. He gives out an array of emotions in each frame. The love, distress, confusion, hope all delivered with ease. He stole the show.

An eerie depiction that hits you hard
18 September 2021
An eerie depiction of the story of an innocent girl who sets about to enjoy the day with her boyfriend. Though predictable, it strikes hard on you. Cinematography and music are the key elements that glues your mind on the movie. They add greatly to the rawness. Not a movie for everyone. Strong theme.
