Limitless (2011)
A good movie with some small flaws
Good movie overall and Bradley Cooper is a good actor in it. My main problem was the insertion into the story of the criminal thugs. If using 100% of his brain surely he would not miss the importance of needing to pay back this criminal fellow, particularly after being told what would happen if he did not. It's not like he didn't have loads of money by then, it was just made out that he forgot, where as throughout the rest of the movie he is drawing upon his memory to recall the smallest of details from his past in order to learn and improvise at a genius level.
Anyway, this didn't stop me from enjoying the movie because I do actually think that the overall premise and delivery by Bradley was very good.
Camelot (2011)
Horrible
When I first heard about this show I was optimistic that it was going to be a darker, grittier take on the legend of Arthur than say the show "Merlin." After 3 or 4 episodes of the show I could not have been more disappointed. The actor who plays Arthur is so bad that he would bring down any show. To see him on the screen trying to act with someone like James Purefoy or Eva Green is like comedy - except it's like hearing the same joke over and over and over and eventually it becomes pure torture.
In the end I had to give up. I can't watch this show anymore. If you're looking for a really good show in the fantasy genre take a look at "Game of Thrones." It is the polar opposite of "Camelot" in that it is actually very very good.
Spartacus: Blood and Sand (2010)
I hate this show for one reason
I hate this show for one reason. That reason is that it's made pretty much all other shows unwatchable for me. Some of the shows I liked before watching this now seem like boring, flat drivel.
The story of the Spartacus is quite good but what is addictive for me is the intensity. Watching it is like participating in an extreme sport on may levels. It's very addictive and I can feel myself going through withdrawals waiting for the next episode to air.
I loved the show "Rome" also but as some others have said "Rome" is more about political intrigue and less about action. Still "Rome" was another show that I loved. "Spartacus" has a lot more action and gore than "Rome." It's funny because when I first watched "Spartacus" I got half way through the first episode and wasn't too impressed. I came back to it about 6 months later and watched the first 3 episodes and by then the addiction had kicked in.
Undercovers (2010)
Surprised how generic this was.
Far less enjoyable than any of Abrams' other offerings. I wouldn't really be bothered making any comment at all except for the fact that he has shown that he has some good writing skills in the past. Hopefully there is some improvement in future episodes but this pilot episode just seemed like any other generic spy/detective show I've seen in the past. Furthermore, the actors so far haven't shown anything above average, jokes, lines and delivery all seem pretty smug.
I might give this show one more chance just because JJ has shown merit in the past but if the next episode is the same quality as this one then I won't bother giving it anymore attention.
The A-Team (2010)
I want those 2 hours of my life back.
This was one of the worst movies that I've seen in years. I like action movies and usually have no problem with mindless plots and violence but this movie made Steven Seagal movies look Oscar worthy. The actors were fine and there were plenty of funny one liners. The plot was nothing special but I can accept that. The problem was that the movie was carried out with such a lack of cohesion that everything just fell to crap. I just did not give a damn what happened in the movie after the first 30 minutes and to tell the truth I just wanted it to end. My advice is to save your money and more importantly to save your time. Remember this is your life and you can never get those hours back.
