This was hilarious

You can tell the Foos love a good laugh. This wasn't so much a horror movie but instead was a series of inside jokes and double entendre. I found myself laughing at the jokes and then ultimately at the silliness. Thanks Dave and the rest of the guys!

Did people watch the same movie I did?

The Anderson movies were fine. Very fond memories watching all of those in the theater. Thing is I saw those movies once in the theater. I never felt compelled to see them again until they went to video.

This movie I saw six times in the theater. I found this movie incredibly creepy. I do get the complaint that there wasn't enough zombie in this zombie movie. But unlike the Anderson movies, this story had a well developed story with a plot.

Added benefits of smoking hot Leon and Wesker, i give this way more than just two thumbs up if you know what i mean.

I seriously hope they do a sequel. I'm fine with the same cast and crew. I love horror movies and great horror movies are an absolute treat and way too rare.

Absolutely awful

Boys on Film has had some real gems over the years. Seventeen is one of my favorites. It had a great mix of sweet, sexy, weird, raunchy....everything. This movie didn't have that. Every since short was boring as hell. Most of the movies felt like high school projects. The dialogue was basic and minimal. There was no plot or point of view. Really disappointing. The closest one to good was Undress Me which gave some insight into the life of a post-op transsexual. It was really fascinating but again so basic underwhelming.

Fun and sweet

It's refreshing to see a Muslim gay themed movie that not about oppression and corrupt Middle East persecution. It's a rom com so the story has just enough depth to be sweet, but not so much that it's weighed down with seriousness.

And Herbie, your review sucks. It's easy to crack insults and critiques from the anonymity of the internet but listen up dear, the rest of us have never heard of you. We have heard of Haaz and he's a damned fine actor. And he's a significant improvement over the original actor in the short film who played the character as a bumbling dork.

I have read several reviews on here and wonder why the vitriol? Anti Muslim or just lazy? It's lazy to paint 1 billion people with a broad brush because you over index on the radicals among them. Grow up.

Whoa Allison Williams is terrible
13 February 2022
Beyond an awful script with moments that are just preposterous, how can two individuals make so many bad, wrong decisions within 90 minutes? At one point I was hoping the plane would crash because they wouldn't last long in the water.

The male lead is unremarkable but the female lead Allison Williams is just bad. Lines with no emotional inflection, just that underlying snark and sarcasm she always has in her voice. Her acting and presence are only fit for a certain typecast like she did in Get Out. It definitely does not work here.

Definitely a mixed bag of treats

I found Spoilers to be the best. Both sweet and poignant, the two actors did a great job. At the other end of the spectrum was Boys which was really uncomfortable to watch due to the perceived age of the boys.

Sugar Daddy was the most surprising. It definitely went a direction I did not expect. The same can be said for Alex and the Handyman. One part creepy, one party funny - the child lead was captivating and extremely talented.

The most thought provoking and bizarre was Hole. WTF! Some things you can't unsee no matter how hard you try.

Not as bad as these reviews led me to believe...

After reading the reviews for this movie, I was really hesitant to watch. Once again I proved to myself, sometimes you just have to see/do some things for yourself.

First off, is the writing, directing and acting as bad as some have said? No it's not - nor is it Oscar-worthy either. You must remember that this is an indie film with a limited budget so the director doesn't have 30-40 takes each scene to find the hidden gem. Some scenes are better than others, no doubt. But the sum of this movie is definitely better than a few of its parts.

There were several references to the movie's "supernatural tendencies" and "unbelievability". I found the story really interesting and fresh. If you're looking for the typical gay indie film that focuses on random hookups and erotic sex scenes, yeah you're going to be disappointed to actually find a STORY here that you need to follow. I wonder if Gil were a woman, would the other reviews have been so pointed?

All in all, good effort and interesting story. I'd recommend it.
