Rachel Bradley: Alpha Chick (2021)
Unbelievably Bad
In a world where we have Nikki Glaser and Iliza Schlesinger, Rachel Bradley doesn't cut the mustard.
Maybe I'm spoiled because the others set the bar too high, but Bradley's routine seemed like she was reading off a script and falls flat. Repeating tired feminist tropes and pausing, after each punchline, for laughs seems forced and awkward.
I mean I really tried to like it, but even the laughs she was getting seemed like they were courtesy laughs. She goes back and forth between making fun of her parents and grandparents to paying homage to them for teaching her life lessons.
I was fair and made sure to watch the whole thing to see if I laughed at anything but...nothing.
Swing and a miss!
Fortune Defies Death (2018)
Such a funny movie!
I can't understand the reviews I'm seeing here. This movie is hysterical because it's soooo bad! The dialogue is ridiculous. The actors are stiff and uncomfortable. It's so bad it's funny. For the first five minutes I thought it was a comedy.
Eddie Pepitone: For the Masses (2020)
Does not disappoint
Eddie is the greatest! He's the guy you used to work with that made you laugh so hard your stomach hurt! Thank you Eddie. Make more specials!
Better Things (2016)
Spoiler but I need to say it.
NOTICE:THIS IS A SPOILER TO ONE OF THE EPISODES!
I really like this show. I like how she is a real person with real problems. That being said, I have a huge issue with one of the episodes. The one where Sam is planning to take her mother to Santa Barbara. I know I will get some push back on this, however, doing what she did would be the most horrendous thing a daughter could do to her mother. I don't feel Sam would be that horrible as to have her mother in the car, packed and ready to go, then start to drive off, only to stop and say she couldn't do it. I think anybody that would do that is a horrible person and I really think it's out of character. Fine, call the trip off, or make excuses not to go, but to do it the way it was portrayed in the show, made me sick to my stomach. Sorry, that's how I feel.
Old Dogs (2009)
Stop being so uptight!
I had just watched "Old Dogs" and wanted to see the cast names and bios and got slapped in the face by some of the meanest, nastiest, wanna be critic reviews I have ever seen.
Is this movie an Academy Award nominee? Hell no, but for goodness sake it was funny! My wife and I actually laughed our butts off! Cheap laughs? Predictable in spots? OK, yeah, but it's a great family movie.
It's funny, easy to watch and would be a great movie to watch on a Sunday afternoon with your kids. So stop being haters and have a little fun once in awhile! Just because some of you guys can't appreciate a nice comedy does not mean that everybody has to hat it.
