Awkwardly Cute
1 October 2014
After seeing the trailer for this show, i was sure this is another regular romcom like many others on TV. But being a romance freak that i am, i gave it a shot and watched it. And thank god i did.

Pilot to this show is very promising. The awkward first date between two person in Manhattan and the self mumbling in their head was cute and adoring. I already love the lead female and her rather soft and yet firm attitude towards life. And the lead male, with his dreamy voice and laid back attitude like any other bachelor or playboy wanna be (though seen many times on TV) works well.

But last of all thanks to the writer to this show for making a great script where a regular romance appears surprisingly new and refreshing.

Awkward but cute, Cliché and yet interesting. Looking forward to the next episode.

Dharma & Greg (1997–2002)

I love it, i love it, OH, I LOVE IT!!!
8 April 2014
If you are a fan of romance genre then you are in for a big treat.

I recently started watching this series when i found out it was one of Chuck lorre production. Considering his success in TV comedies i decided to try it out and i immediately fell in love with Dharma & Greg.

Just finished the first season and started the second season i couldn't stop myself and i just had to write a well deserved review though i am poor writer.

The series has a well adjusted script and scenarios to complement the two completely opposite characters Dharma & Greg. Dharma with her carefree and quirky behavior charms you instantly from the get go and can't help but fall in love with her as the series progresses. And Greg, a totally uptight lawyer with his deep baritone voice just seduces you and suck you into a dreamlike state. I could totally watch this show just to hear his voice. And together as a couple, Dharma & Greg makes a great chemistry that seems to go on and on and makes you wish you were in a great relationship yourself. And there are the in-laws who are totally a world apart which only makes for a greater mix.

I can't believe i have been existing without ever watching this great show for a long time. I would recommend this to all the romance freaks out there.

A Great show and definitely makes it in my favorite list.

I am in love with Hallmark series
7 March 2014
Last year Hallmark released a very good series, CEDAR'S COVE. And i felt in love with the series. Though many of the TV junkies might not enjoy it and called it a clichés, it was a great series for me. So that's how my affair with Hallmark began.

After that i became obsessed with finding out about every movies and series from hallmark. And i was mostly disappointed with most of it's previous shows but some TV movies were just as sweet and memorable like "Love enduring" series.

Then at the end of last year they released another TV movie "When calls the heart" starring Stephen Amell and my affair with hallmark again took it's passionate course after our lover's spat. It was like a make up sex. HAHAHAHAHAHA....! The movie was great, with it's well scripted humor it made me laugh and i enjoyed every moment of the movie.

And this relation began to grow when hallmark announced the movie has a follow up series premiering this year. Many of the viewers will say and i agree that this series might be full of clichés and chick-full romance but i don't care because i am romantic at heart. So any fan of the genre will love this series. It has all the elements of a great contemporary romance comedy.

With a great cast and with sweet and humorous script and with many beautiful and breathtaking Canadian Valley scenery, it has already captured my heart with it's pilot episode and hope this show to continue for a while at least up to 4 or 5 seasons.

Amir Ends the year with A Dhoom
22 December 2013
Considering the trends with which bollywood movies are becoming hit though they lack a good story or script i was hoping for a disappointment and i went in with low expectations. Well, definitely an all round entertainer Dhoom 3 made me glad and hopeful for the franchise. And yes definitely the best in the series.

Though the songs were disappointing except the first song (not the tap dance), otherwise i was rather engaged well into the stories and surprised with the twist in betweens.

Here is my rating for the movie: Acting - Okay, Songs - Could have been better, Direction - Good, Story - Great, Choreography - Ohhhh What A Katrina!!!!!

I will definitely watch again and soon.

A new breathtaking experience in Cinema!!!
10 December 2013
Being a big fan of Sandra Bullock, let me say this one is her best performance so far even better than her Oscar winning role in the blind side.

The film starts slowly but with very beautiful and breathtaking outerspace scenes, and taking it's time to connect us to the main protagonists and developing a sequence of events which are least to say the most breathtaking, beautiful, thrilling and not to forget horrifying. By halftime of the movie i was deeply attached to story and the characters that left me crying non-stop.

A truly revolutionary or redefining the idea of great quality movie making after AVATAR. Should not be missed by anyone. Easily one of the best of the decade.

Dexter (2006–2013)

OH!!! Dexter, Dexter, What a bloody monster you are.
5 December 2013
Favorite among the favorites, Dexter is a dear darling of all favorite TV shows. There is no comparison to any show as to how this series is a brilliant and bloody show of all time.

There is a charismatic aura to this monster that you can't help but feel intrigued and fascinated no matter how dangerous he is like a moth to a flame. Every character is vivid and lively and interesting and i don't know how else to describe it other than the word shiny. And the storyline is just brilliant and bloody fantastic.

I didn't start this series until this series was well into it's eight season. And i am glade to have waited it out till it's last otherwise i would not have survived the wait after the end of every season. Probably i would have become Dexter myself just to feel the same excitement as when i watch this show. I have already watched this series like 6 times over and over again. With the end of the series, Dexter has left a big hollow inside me that hungers for just the same bloody brilliant DEXTER.

The most lovable SERIAL KILLER PSYCHOPATH of all time.

Like it's title, A truly gritty, primal and bloody show!!!
30 November 2013
Those who enjoy bloody and adult rated show, this show is a must watch for them. Although i enjoy an occasional stimulation while watching my TV, this one is a bit much in its graphic content. It's bloody and satisfying.

This action filled series has a very well balanced story to go with it's stimulating adult contents unlike Spartacus (in which if the characters are not doing battle then they are doing a marathon orgy). While it may not have the best underlying story to back up the series, with it's clever casts and well laid out script Banshee totally had me gripped form the very start.

What i most appreciate in this series was how the characters are developed alongside the running main plot which with it's mystery elements from the main character's past had me intrigued and waiting for coming future episodes.

The Blacklist (2013–2023)

NBC yet again gives us a quality TV!!!
29 November 2013
After AMC, SHOWTIME and NETFLIX, NBC is another network which telecast great quality show. And it also is the network having the most loyal viewers and it will remain so if it continues to delivers quality shows like L & O, Hannibal etc.

Theme of this show is already seen in various other TV like white collar, various other show where a main protagonist is an informant to cops or fbi, but the blacklist comes with a different strategy to how the crooked character is manipulating the developing plot as well as other important characters. The way story unfolds it gives an impression as if RED is secretly grooming Elizabeth Keen for a higher purpose other than to enhance her carrier.

With brilliant casts and a great script this mystery, thriller, action show gives a balanced quality TV to engage a wide variety of demographic viewers. A must watch for every TV junkie and a glowing recommendation to those who occasionally watch a few selected tvs.

Chicago Fire (2012– )

A Truly well crafted show!!!
28 November 2013
I started watching this show when this was renewed for season 2 because of it's poor season one rating. Now i know why it was not cancel after season one poor performance. It is because every script of every episodes are well crafted and has brilliant characters(not to mention eye candies for the ladies and gays) and has depth in their history. Despite it's lack of excitement and thrills in the storyline it is humbling for a show to give it's viewer a fresh and realistic drama.

It doesn't focus all of it's story on firefighting actions and the drama develops in accordance to their character's actions which avoid the feel of rushing in the storytelling which usually every network shows has. I admire the writers courage to develop the underlying plot and suspense in a pace which the story deserves rather than focusing too much on pleasing the viewers. This also gives the audience to connect to their fav characters. This is one of those shows in which if it continues for a while (may be longer than 6 seasons) you will be left very fulfilling and satisfying yet sad and feel hollow when the show ends.

Not a cup of tea for everyone but to those who love contemporary drama and has lots of patience, it will be a wondrous treat which more than likely you will ever forget in the future.

Like Greys Anatomy i am sure i will be watching this show over and over again.

The most satisfying INTEREST!!!
27 November 2013
I was sad for a while thinking DEXTER(my favorite among favorites) is ending and just when i thought i was to settle among routine network shows, CBS delivers a brilliant mystery from Nolan.

To me this show is what would have been if Christoper Nolan produces a batman TV series and it is fitting considering it is created by none other than his baby brother Jonathan.

With it's fantastic cast and well developed characters and most satisfying script it has made all the other famous shows look like a crawling infant. It doesn't over exaggerate the mystery and sci-fi theme like many other shows does. It exploits all possibilities for its genre within the confine of human understanding and sci-fi elements doesn't cross its boundaries to fantasy which appeals to my geeky side. And most of all what glued me to this show is it's batman like detective aspects and action which looks real and well trained.

This shows is a must watch for all the geeks and it definitely is a appealing show for male demographic viewers. Should not be missed by a TV addict.

Almost Perfect!!!
25 November 2013
A great combo of sci-fi and mystery. With a great pilot this show promises for a good time pass for anyone and a great must-watch for geeks and TV-addicts.

A good cast and with it's good script the first episode just totally engaged my interest to the show from the beginning. I will be crossing my fingers for it's future.

Despite my good humor and liking for this show so far, i have my doubts mainly because it's a Fox Show. Like it's all great shows i hope they don't get too consume it's sci-fi element that they forget to add few down to earth realistic elements.

Like for example 1. House MD, all of it's episodes gets too caught in the brilliance of solving the cases you start to compare House somehow like a god. Just ridiculous

2. Bones, they kept too much focus on the brilliance of temperance that it feels she alone is the whole team. common they makes booth looks like an arm candy and he is the one who is supposed to solve cases whereas Temperance has to provide facts. So the show is like a dumb blonde which is great because she looks fantastic but she is an idiot.

3. Fringe, i had high hopes for this show and here they also get too caught in their genre that they forget their audiences live in the Earth.

i can go on for most of Fox famous shows/ Every show from this network starts fantastic with a bang and by their third season it becomes totally an altogether a diff world that you failed to grasp the characters actions and emotions.

So i hope this show do not become one their common routine blah blah... otherwise thumps up.

Beauty and the Beast (2012–2016)

Don't judged the Beast harshly by it's Title.
20 November 2013
Warning: Spoilers
When i watched the first 2 episodes, i thought that is it for the show. And when they renewed the show i was like what. Have the network lost it's mind renewing an already lost show.

Then i started watching again to see if i miss something in this show and mind you with lots of patience. And i was rewarded for giving this show a second chance and for my patience. This is a show where everyone has judged it's worth by it's first episode and yeah first episode sucks and second episode too was rather disappointing in it's storytelling but better than first episode. And so on the show keeps getting better and better in it's storytelling.

Regarding the casting, every actors were good with respective role except for the kristin role. When she plays a beauty in damsel in distress, it was okay but when it is her role as a cop it was rather putting off from it's character. And that's my complain about this show.

So i recommend this show to those who love romance and a bit of drama mixed with fantasy. And have patience for a while in the beginning to gather it's momentum in it's storytelling and you will enjoy it.

The Originals (2013–2018)

More original than vampire diaries
10 November 2013
Warning: Spoilers
I admit i was rather reluctant to watch this series especially considering vd. Don't get me wrong vd is okay for me, but common two vampire series and what more it is going to spin-off of vd. In the beginning i was rather happy with vd but as the series progressed the Elina drama got too much whiny and needy for my nerve but still i was hook to the stories so i kept on watching not like an indulgence but more of tolerated time pass. So you could imagine my surprise they are making a spin-off of vd, i mean sure there are die-hard fans of vd but this was a suicide, like they say too much of a same thing is dangerous.

But boy, i was wrong in making assumption. The Originals is much better, much more refined in it's storytelling and what more it lack female romantic whiny drama. So i was surprised and instantly liked it. I would say this is the better version of vd.

I sure hope they continue this show for long while provided they keep their storytelling as it is and make it better and pray that they don't include a needy and and whiny character like Elina in the future.

Shah Rukh yells yella yella blockbuster
11 August 2013
Warning: Spoilers
This is what a real Hindi masala movie should be like. With colorful breathtaking scenes, melodious songs and great comic relief this movie is another Shah Rukh's Fabulous movie.

This movie starts with a comedy situation (out at 99, a nearly perfect century scores) and still goes on to deliver various refreshing hilarious scenes. The story may be common Hindi movie type but the screenplay and narration was excellently done that you would forget that this is typical Hindi storyline. But most noteworthy attraction to this movie was Deepika. Her tamil tongue mimic was just excellent and hilarious.

This movie just makes me hope for greater bollywood movies just when i was losing hope in bollywood industries. This is a slightly crazy Hindi masala movie where you just don't want to give bad reviews. A great treat from Shah Rukh, Deepika and Rohit Shetty. I predict this movie to cross 200 crore.

Here is my ratings -

Direction : Excellent, Acting - Excellent, Songs : Excellent, Screenplay : Excellent, Story : Okay.

Gerard Butler Sings
18 July 2013
Being a big fan of music, so naturally I love musicals. This is one my favorite musicals till date. I like reading novels so i will be reading this Gothic tale in the future. Shot in a slight darker tone this musical kept me enraptured and mesmerized from its start till end.

I don't think i won't be able to give an unbiased review to this movie. Being a big fan of Gerard Butler and the fact that he sings magnificently will only keep me more biased to this movie. But i will tell you this "Man, can he sing". Just as he starts to sing in his deep baritone voice i was purred away by this magical weaves of narration. The story itself is compelling but with it's score i was left spell bound by the movie. It is one of the best tragic romance i have watched.

Here is my ratings:

Direction - Good, Acting - Good, Score - Great, Songs - A SURPRISE TREAT FROM GERARD BUTLER, Choreography - okay,

We accept the love we think we deserve.
18 July 2013
It is a movie that demands respect and challenges the audience. It is definitely not a commercial pictures but more of a critic's delight. Shot in a melancholy narrative style, this movie captured my whole attention till it's end. Read the book, loved it. Unlike various others novel adaptations, this movie does not deviate from it's original story as expected since author is the director.

What most surprised me in this movie was the performance of Logan Lerman. Considering his previous disastrous films, he did a great justice to the main protagonist of the book. Miller was just as great and i think Emma also did good. Before i watched this movie, i was worried how they would execute the twist that is there in the story. But i was done exceptionally and beautifully.

It is for those who loves challenges in a movie. A great delight to all the Indie fans and for critics as well in this time, full of comic movies in the the industries.

My ratings:

Direction - Good, Acting - INFINITE, Score - Good, Editing - Good.

Disaster of the year
20 October 2012
Student of the year. Or, Disaster of the year.

I am still in shock trying to recover from the fact that this crap is directed by Karan johar, the same director who made one of the legendary in bollywood "Kuch Kuch hota hai". I am observing all the movies directed by Karan Johar. Usually we say with experience comes perfection, but in his case we see less and less perfection and more blunders as he directs more. But with this movie he reach his limit. The Film board should strip him of his directing license.

Yes, the film might do good in box office. But the sole credit goes to the new debutantes and Karan Johar's past fame.

Here is my review

Script(Story) - there was none, Directing - I would like to believe there was no director, Editing - A series of disastrous clips glued together, Acting - Okay, Songs - Great, Screenplay - Mildly Okay, Choreography - Okay, Climax - I didn't get any orgasm

What you get out the movie?

You get to watch two gorgeous hunks fighting, their bromance and one tag-along beauty doing all sorts nonsense.
