Very good movie, must watch ...expect few parts. I'm a big fan of movie based on history or true incidents. This movie was delivering both. Saw the trailer and it a feast to the eyes and decided to watch. I wasn't disappointed. It is a good refresher on our history. Characters played by Ajay Devgn, Kajol and Saif are good. Even Shivaji role was played very well - because it is such a sensitive role for those in Maharashtra and cannot slip on performance.
Couple of scenes were a bit of a let down. Scene during climax where shoes were handed over to Shivaji. Also the way Shivaji reached Tanaji before his death in no time. Killing of Saif was not convincing in my opinion. Until that scene Uday was invincible and all of a sudden he is waiting to get tied up.
Otherwise a great movie. Highly recommended. More such movies should be made. Kudos to the team!

I'm an Indian residing in Prague with A1 level of spoken Czech. I watched this movie since it was screened with English subtitles (they should do this type more often). I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. It's a low-budget but nice, feel-good movie. The protagonist old man has acted extremely well. Others were average to good in my opinion.
From a different perspective - I'd especially recommend this movie to expats who want to improve their A1/A2 Czech language. The dialogues were simple and someone with A2 competency should follow the without any trouble. I could follow most of them with my A1.
Again - loved this movie :)

I'm an Indian residing in Prague for 6 years. I was aware of Jan Palach in the very first week of landing in Prague. I took a walking tour of Prague old town square where the tour guide mentioned his story. Then again I was aware of Jan Palach day which happens in January.
This is my first Czech movie since they screened with English subtitles. I'm A1 level in Czech language so still not very comfortable otherwise to watch without the help of subtitles. Hence avoided all these years.
I must say I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. Even though the overall story was known I was keen to understand what drove him, the context, the background and also his personality. I think the director has done a fantastic job to narrate the story whilst keeping the movie at a good pace, with nice subtle humour, beautiful photography especially the period costumes and cityscape. The lead actor has played the role very well.
I'd highly recommend this movie to anyone who would ofcourse want to know of Jan Palach final days and more importantly the Czechoslovakia student movement during the Soviet occupation.

Watched this movie few times and love it. It is a family entertainer. Me and my daughter ply golf and watched together along with my wife. My wife doesn't play golf but found this movie interesting. Disney has produced a master class. All characters are portrayed well. Highly recommended!!
