This film is excellent, and VERY cleverly done.
1 April 2012
I haven't actually read all of the first book, but I was so enticed in it i'd thought i'd see the film and compare the two. I must say, the film was sensational.

The film started as the book started, with Katniss(Jennifer Lawrence) and her sister, Primrose (Willow Shields),in their small house. Both actresses played their parts exceptionally well, especially Jennifer, perfectly casted as Katniss.

Throughout the film there was action and enticement on offer. There was also emotion felt, and scenes that kept on the edge of your seat. Best part and arguably the saddest, Rue's death, so emotional and directed perfectly, well done Gary Ross for that one.

Overall the whole film is a success, and i hope it grosses so much money. Well, it seems to be doing that anyway as I write this. Excellent.

Roll on 2,3 and 4!!! 10/10 5 Stars *****

Safe House (2012)
2/10
I thought this film had potential, turns out i was VERY wrong.
3 March 2012
Warning: Spoilers
I had really enjoyed the trailer to this film and i thought it was going to be very good when i walked into the screen earlier. But what i saw was far from great, to be quite honest, it was the worst film this year.

The film itself was very confusing to say the least. For example Denzel Washington's character went from being a bad guy, to a good guy, to a bad guy and then a good guy again, with no explanation. It was all swell having the action but without a decent, easy to understand plot, what's the use? Second thing was the fact that it was so boring for at least the first hour, there were "split ends" everywhere and it just seemed like there was nothing going on, the film never really got started until an hour into it. After the hour, it got slightly better, the action was good and it started to get a little credit. But not much because of the sheer rubbish plot, the confusion, and everything else. Surely the producers saw these holes? The only real good bit about this film was Ryan Reynolds, he had a very good part in this film and played it well, Denzel Washington was good as well, but still lacked the ability to releases his full acting potential because of his characters constant characteristic changing.

This film truly was a waste of money and certainly isn't full of potential like i thought it would be. So if you're tired and want a film u can sleep through, this is one for you, i found it hard to keep my eyes open.

Hustle (2004–2012)
10/10
Sad it's ending, best show that's been on TV for ages!
17 February 2012
Warning: Spoilers
Hustle had me drawn in from Series 1 right up until the very last episode of Series 8, It's one of the very few shows that hasn't had an episode that i didn't like. Very few TV shows on at the moment has gave me that feeling.

Every episode has a well thought out plot, and the con itself can sometimes leave you thinking "How did they do that?", which i always like. You never thought it was fake. As well as all the business end of things in this show, there's always the idea of humour to be added in, and it is applied where possible, and where it is applied it is excellent.

The characters in my eyes couldn't have been cast any better. Robert Vaughn and Robert Glenister were my personal favourites, but full marks to Adrian Lester & others for keeping me entertained over these past few years, Yes, that includes Eddie the barman as well. What i also liked about the characters is that they all got equal parts, which you don't always get in these types of shows where the main characters are in some kind of group or organisation, an example is Primeval, Series 1 & 2, where Stephen hardly ever got any story lines, apart from his affair with estranged Helen Cutter. It's different in Hustle, throughout i think every character got at least one episode that revolved around their life.

Overall Hustle is one of my favourite shows that's been on TV, and i'l sorely miss it. Well Done producers, well done.

Cool Runnings (1993)
10/10
One of my favourite films EVER! Absolutely Loved It!
15 February 2012
Cool Runnings.

I first saw this film as a random watch because i was pretty bored on a Weekend afternoon. And boy, was I immediately hooked. It's one of those rare films that you could watch over and over again without getting tired of it, and that is really what i liked most about Cool Runnings.

I also loved this movie because of the fact it was based on a true story. These movies always leave me wanting to know what actually happened in real life, if i didn't know already, which allowed me compare how close the feature was to the actual event. Apart from the characters having different names, the other parts were pretty much accurate, and that always gives a film a boosted rating from me.

The plot was well put together as well in my eyes, mainly because the characters all seem to have fitted in with the storyline anyway. You could clearly see from the start who the 4 main characters were going to be, and it remained that way throughout.

The characters themselves were perfectly casted, particularly Rawle D. Lewis (Junior Bevil. His ability to play his personality is an all-time favourite. The late John Candy was very good as Irv Blitzer as well.

Overall this film is an all-time great, and will be for years to come.

Excellent, Finally a Proper Scary Movie, but Why Is It Rated a 12?
11 February 2012
No word of a lie, i was scared before i even sat down to see this high anticipated movie. As far as i was concerned i thought that if i hadn't seen the actual play, i wouldn't understand it. This review will be my most thorough to date, reviewing every square inch of this movie.

Firstly, CASTING. Before going to view The Woman In Black i took some time to read other peoples reviews in local newspapers, and the thing that really stood out for me as a criticism was the fact that nearly every reviews mentioned Daniel Radcliffe not being right as the main part, saying he was too young to be cast as a long term father. I went to see if these critics were just out there to criticise Radcliffe and i discovered that i felt he done a great job as a major lead role, obviously having enough experience from blockbuster film series Harry Potter. I did see the critics point, but i did think they were a tad harsh. 9/10 Secondly, PLOT: Personally, i thought the plot was clever, yet quite easy to follow. Apparently, according to friends, they had changed the ending. I observed that, yes, the ending was different, but it didn't bring my overall rating of the film down at all. It was still spine-chillingly good. 10/10 Thirdly, SETS/LOCATIONS: Loved them. Thought that the ideas gone into where each scene is set were exquisite. No criticisms. 10/10 Lastly, EXPECTATIONS: I truly expected the best from this film, and the best is what i got. It was a tense, scary and overall brilliant affair. Throughout the movie you could expect at parts something was going to jump out and make us gasp, but i couldn't predict exactly when, and even though i knew it was going to happen, i still jumped in shock. The film exceeded my expectation and was well worth the money i paid. 10/10 5 STARS *****

Chronicle (2012)
9/10
Very clever for a low budget film
6 February 2012
First off i thought this film was going to be good, but i couldn't really see a story to it from the trailer. The overall film looked promising but i thought the plot would let it down a bit. Oh how i was wrong....

What i actually saw was a very clever, well put together production. The special effects weren't over exaggerated as i sometimes find in these sorts of films and i think the overall effects done the plot well. I also liked the fact that there were really only 3 characters in the film, of course there were others but the 3 boys were on their own for around 75% of the movie, which i find doesn't confuse the plot too much. The plot was actually one of the strongest aspects of this movie, it was simple yet clever, and there were no empty points as far as i could see.

The only and very small criticism i would have about this movie is that it was quite short, maybe a low budget movie like this would be expected to be no longer than 90 minutes long, but this was still quite short as far as low budget movies go.

Other than this i thought the film was excellent and fully deserves a 9/10. Well Done Indeed.

This film definitely does NOT fall for the sequel "curse"
23 December 2011
Sherlock Holmes lived up to my expectations, clever, funny and action-packed to the rafters. The first one was good enough, and when i learnt that a second was in production i was buzzing to see it. It was one of few films that i felt confident it wouldn't fall into that dreaded sequel "curse", and when i saw it on Wednesday, it didn't disappoint one little bit! I was hooked from the start and i was that way until the end where Holmes (Robert Downey JR) printed a '?' on Dr Watsons work. This surely means an arrival of a third film? I think Stephen Fry done an excellent job as Mycroft (Holmes' Brother) and as did Jared Harris as prof. Moriarty (Holmes' Arch Enemy).

Overall this film is definitely one of my films of the year. 10/10 & *****

This film proves that sometimes the special effects of today are a total waste of time. Its brilliant!!!
30 October 2011
This film is possibly my favourite film of all time. i have always been a big fan of Michael Caine i think he's excellent and has always been that way. But i think his performance here is especially good, hes got the right voice for the lead role. He also has those facial expressions which you can read like a book, which i love! Also the sets and locations were excellent and well chosen! The directing and producing i thought was one of best bits, if i am totally honest i couldn't spot one thing wrong. They done a VERY thorough but a really good job as well.

Overall this movie is my favourite film of all time, and certainly one of those films i will NEVER get tired off. So to the people who created this masterpiece in film you didn't just "blow the doors off" you definitely "blew it apart". Very Well Done!!!

Best Film Of The Year. My Favourite Film Ever!!
23 September 2011
The Inbetweeners Movie. Well What Can I Say? Well, i know 1 thing i can Definitely say, HILARIOUS!!

The movie is by far the best film of the year in many different ways. Obviously it was going to be funny when i went to watch it, but i didn't expect it to be the way it was. it was slightly emotional as well, knowing that film was, well, that as far as the Inbetweeners was concerned even though talks were rumoured about a 2nd Movie, but were quickly dismissed.

All the characters were brilliant and i praise all the actors and actresses on their work. I also praise the writers and directors that produced a masterpiece of film making!

My favourite scene is easily the dancing to the girls bit, so funny and a stroke of genius when put together. Loved it. This Movie gets a 10/10. No second thoughts about it!!

Mock the Week (2005–2022)
10/10
The Funniest Panel Show On TV By Miles!!
17 June 2011
Mock The Week Is Brilliant And Hilariously Funny! I Don't Know How No One Can Dislike It, And I Mean No One. The Comedians Picked For The Show Are - To Put It Straight - Geniuses. Hugh Dennis Is My Favourite Because He Is So Clever, But I Also Like Milton Jones,Russell Howard, Chris Addison And Frankie Boyle. Rory Bremner Is Also A FANTASTIC Impersonator.

Now Onto Dara O'Brian, The Iconic Host Of Mock The Week. He Provides The Bit That Holds The Show Together, And It Works SUPERBLY. He Is The Perfect Host For The Show In My Opinion! Mock The Week Has Always Competed For Viewers Against Other Panel Shows Like 'Never Mind The Buzzcocks' And 'Have I Got News For You?'. As Much As I Like These Two Shows Mock The Week Comes Out On Top, Every time! I Rate It 10 Stars Because Of The Utter Genius That Is Put Into This Show!

Not Going Out (2006– )

This Show Is So Funny!
17 June 2011
This show is very, very funny! I like the idea of having 2 of the main characters as their real-life names (Lee Mack And Tim Vine) and these work very well together. The reason i love Not Going Out is because its cleverly written and well put together as a series. I think Miranda Hart is very good as Barbara and when Lucy first appeared in the show i thought it would get even better, and it didn't disappoint one bit! This show provides clever story lines, painfully funny scenes and great acting- for this i give the show 10/10 Trust me you will be hooked the first time you see this and if there is ever a night it isn't on, you will want it on.

Finding Nemo (2003)
10/10
Clever, Funny, A Stroke Of Genius From Pixar!!
24 April 2011
Warning: Spoilers
Finding Nemo is the perfect example of a great, no not great, brilliant animated movie. And the best thing about it is, even if it didn't have the big names of the world of acting in it, it still raked in more success than LOADS of other movies. The reason for this is easily the whole story of it, the clever scripting and the hilarious outcomes.

The film follows a clown fish (Marlin) trying to find his son (Nemo) who was taken by humans while at "school". Along with Dory (A Fish which surprisingly had the memory of a GOLDFISH) he sets out on the epic trek across the ocean in search of Nemo.

Now you may think this movie is quite depressing, and the humour intended wouldn't be funny. But,to be quite honest, it is hilarious. My favourite part has to be the Seagulls. Their constant repetition of "Mine!" had people laughing right from the start.

I rate Finding Nemo 10/10 just because it deserves it and how Pixar have put this whole film together is a stroke of Genius! Very VERY Well Done!!

Primeval: Breakfast Club (2011)
Season 4, Episode 4
10/10
Great Episode. A Little Too Scary For Kids Though.
28 January 2011
Warning: Spoilers
Episode 4 Was Based In a School With 3 Kids Who Have Got Themselves Into A Detention.

The Starting Clip Before The Opening Credits Was Well Planned. When The Teacher In Charge Of the 3 Kids (2 Boys,And A Girl Who Has A Whole Life Planned Out All Ready. Although Her Winning X-Factor Is A Bit Of A Step Too Far) Goes Out And Says Those Words "I'll Be Back In A Minute" That, When Watching Primeval, Everyone Will Know Means "No, I'm About To Die". He Is Eventually Killed By A Dromaeosaurus, A Mammal Dog Like Creature.

The Whole Episode Is Very Well Planned And Tension Is Always There. But When Matt Finds The Discarded Hand Of The Teacher I Thought That Kids As Young As 11 Don't Want To See That. Apart From That The Episode Was Brill. Another Bad Bit That Didn't Want To See Was A Child Die. The Girl Gets Killed While Jumping On The Trampline In The School's Gym.

The Usual Action Genre Was Mixed In This Time With The Emotion Type Genre. Where Philip Burton (Alexander Siddig) Announces That All The Creatures,Such As The Mammoth, That The Team Didn't Put Back Through The Anomaly Of Which It Came From Was To Be Destroyed Because Of The Press Wanting To Find Out What The Team Are Doing. The Most Hit By This Decision Was Abby (Hannah Spearitt) Because She Had Helped The Most To Look After Them, Especially Rex.

The Rest Of The Episode Was Great And Acted Brilliantly! Good Job ITV.

Wild at Heart (2006–2012)

Gone Down Hill Since The 3rd Series...
16 January 2011
Wild At Heart Was Absolutely Brilliant In The First Series. Moving, Drama And Cliffhangers Were Perfectly Acted And Planned Out. Series 2 Was The Same And Again Provided Everything You Would Expect From This Type Of Show. Series 3 Was A Little Weaker But The Last Episode Was Brilliant, Even Though They Killed Off Sarah Trevanion (Amanda Holden).

But To Be Totally Honest The Show Hasn't Had The Same Sort of Spark As Other Series. When The First, Second And Third Series Were On I Was Hooked. But Now I Rarely Watch it. It Isn't The Same Anymore.

I Suppose The Drama Is Still There But The Feel Of It Isn't. The Only Other Good Thing Is The Superb Acting From Stephen Tompkinson (Danny Travanion) And Deon Stewardson (Anders Du Plessis). Olivia And Evan, Who In My Eyes Held The Show Together, When They Were Young Were Adorable And Very Well Acted. But As They've Grown Up The Show Has Fallen And Fell Apart.

Im Sorry Wild At Heart But Now It's Isn't Really Worth Watching. Sorry.

His Best Show Ever!
16 January 2011
Lee Evans Was Clearly At His ABSOLUTE Best On This Show. He Had The Crowd Almost Falling Out Of Their Seats In Hysterical Laughter.

To Me, XL Tour Was The Best Show He's Done. The Funniest Joke? Easily The One About Parcelforce, This Was Clever, Witty And Very Very Precise. As Are All His Jokes.

The XL Tour Holds The Record For The Biggest Comedy Tour And You Can See Why. The Facts And Figures Are Astounding And Some Will Blow Your Mind. He Is, To Me, The Greatest Comedian And Certainly The Sweatiest To Ever Appear On Stage.

XL Tour 2005 Lived Up To The Expectations I Thought It Would. So For Gags Flying Every Minute And Unbeatable Stand Up Comedy. Buy This, You'll Laugh So Much, You'll Have To Pause The Show To Calm Down, Well At Least I Did Anyway.

Primeval (2007–2011)
10/10
Great Show, Well Done Impossible Pictures.
15 January 2011
Warning: Spoilers
Primeval Got Me Hooked From The First Scene Where Helen Was Chased Through An ASDA Car Park By A Dinosaur. It's Very Well Put Together And The Story lines Are Great And Are Full Of Cliffhangers.

The Actors And Actresses Play Their Part Brilliantly. The Best Acted Parts Are, To Me, Connor Temple (Andrew Lee-Potts) And Abby Maitland (Hannah Spearitt) Series 1 Was A Brilliant Opening Series, With A Massive Cliffhanger At The End, Perfect Entertainment.

Series 2 Lived Up To The Expectations Of Series 1 If Not A Little Better, A Shock When Stephen Hart (James Murray) Was Killed Off Meant That The Viewing Figures Would Rise For The 3rd Series.

The 3rd Series Was A Little Disappointing At The Start, The First Episode Was Alright But, Particuraly The 2nd And 4th Episodes, Were Horrible. It Gradually Picked Up Speed And Better Episodes Cam Along For The Last Half Of the Series, Especially Episode 6 (The Terror Birds.)The Last 3 Didn't Really Feel The Same Because Of The Killing Off Of Nick Cutter. Also Jenny Lewis/Claudia Brown Had Left After Episode 5 After Nearly Dying. The Makers Entered A Couple Of New Charocters To Fill Their Places. Sarah Page (Laila Rouass) Captain Becker (Ben Mansfield) And Danny Quinn (Jaosn Flemyng) Were Introduced And Played A Good Part In The Final Episode.

After Series 3 Finished ITV 1 Were Told That Primeval Was Axed Because Of The Making Costs. This Didn't Go Down Too Well Obviously With Fans Because Half The Cast Were Left Up A Tree In The Cretaceous Period And One Was Missing. But Itv Won The Battle And Were Allowed 2 New Series.

Series 4 Introduces New Characters And Is Doing Very Well In Explaining What Happened To Characters And Keeping Flow Of The Show Perfectly Simple.

Friends (1994–2004)
10/10
The Best Sitcom Ever To Grace The TV Screen!
14 January 2011
Warning: Spoilers
I'm Sorry But Everyone Who Says Friends Is 'Just Another Sitcom' Are Totally Wrong. Friends Is Possibly The Greatest Sitcom To Ever Hit The TV Screen! The Charocters Are Brilliantly Acted And The Story lines Are Very VERY cleverly Written.

Each Character Has Their Own Way Of Being Funny, And Successfully Achieve It.

Joey Tribbiani (Matt Le Blanc) Relies On His Mistakes And Cuteness To Be Funny. This Works Because He Is Acted Out Superbly By Matt. He Is The 'Babe Magnet' Of The Group But Has Never Had A Real Lasting Relationship Before.

Chandler Bing (Matthew Perry) relies on Other People Mistakes And His Clever, Ever So Slightly Sarcastic Remarks To Achieve His Goal. Again The Same As Joey He Is Superbly Portrayed By Matthew.

Dr. Ross Geller (David Schwimmer) Relies On His Intelligence To outwit His Other Friends. His In And Out Relationship With Rachel Is The Main Part Of His Character. The Main Joke Which Never Fails To Get A Laugh Is His 3 YES 3 failed Marriages.

Monica Geller (Courteney Cox) Relies On People Making Fun Of Her Cleaning Arrangements. Her Character Is Portrayed With A Slight Romance Aspect. She Is Constantly Mocked By Her Parents (Elliot Gould & Christina Pickles) About Her Failure At Getting Married But Ross' Success, If You Call It Success.

Rachel Greene (Jennifer Aniston) Relies On Ross Mainly To Put Her Jokes In Place. She Frequently Places The 'We Were On A Break!' Line Into Many Different Situations.

Phoebe Buffay (Lisa Kudrow) Relies On Different Situations For Humour. To Me She Is Probably The Best Acted In the Show.

Personally, I Rate Friends 10/10 For Superb Acting And Inch Perfect Scripting.

The Inbetweeners (2008–2010)
10/10
Absolutely Brilliant!
14 January 2011
When I First Saw The First Episode Of The Inbetweeners I Expected It To Be Funny, But A Little Disappointing, But Obviously I Was Wrong. It Was Great.

The Inbetweeners Follows A Group Of 4 Boys Through Their Time In 6th Form. The Group Consists Of Will (The Smart Yet Sensible One) Simon (In My Eyes A Hopeless Romantic) Jay (The Compulsive Liar) And Neil (The Relatively Dumb Genuinely Misunderstood One)All 4 Of Them Are Superbly Acted By Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, James Buckley And Blake Harrison.

I Think The Best Episode Or As It Seems The Funniets Episode Is Either 'Thorpe Park' or 'Will Is Home Alone'. Both Of These Provide Clever Writing And Painfully Funny Lines.

I Rate The Inbetweeners 10/10 Because Of The Inch Perfect Scripting And Superb Acting.
