Naeil (2022)
Grim reaper story with fun characters
There is enough background mystery from the characters to keep them interesting.
I love what they did with Koo her hair, somehow the short pink hair really suites her characters personality. It just works.
I do admit there are similarities with other drama's /animes like few reviewers have mentioned.
The main protagonist is an unknowing guy, very direct, takes action before thinking kind of guy and makes mistakes.
Koo is like the badass leader woman who is very cold and puts the protoganist into place when needed but has a hidden soft side.
Lim is like the cool guy that makes the right calls and is always on the background.
This personally doesn't bother me that much like some of the other reviewers. Like every high praised anime uses these character concept. Naruto, Sakura, Sasuke. Lufy, Nami, Zoro... You get the picture.
The drama scenes are not too overblown, some could be shorter but okay. I have seen drama's that takes 30-45 minutes for a crying scene...
Still hooked, want to see the next episodes!
Bulgasal (2021)
Cool plot, romance not overspoken, awesome cast, only the last episodes were a let down
Good stuff:
- Monster killing
- Lots of getting under your skin kind of drama
- Awesome cast
- First half very mysterious plot
Bad stuff:
- the last few episodes felt kind of rushed
- I have this with a lot of kdrama shows, the ending itself needs a bit more attention. It always feels kind of cut off at the ending, It's ok to do half an hour of continuously drama and crying for the same event but the ending itself can't be longer than 3 minutes... not so satisfying. I hate the ''you have to imagine the rest of what happends at the end...''
Myeongbulheojeon (2017)
Overall, a very good Korean drama
First, I am very picky about my TV shows. I usually hate Romance/ Drama TV shows.
This Korean drama is lucky enough more than only a romance and I actually liked it. The beginning is very intriguing, mysterious enough to keep you interested. I learned a lot about Korean history and culture (In how far this is correctly presented, I have no idea as I am not Korean) There are enough funny moments to keep you amused.
The protagonist is a really good actor and he plays kind of an idiot, like in a funny way. The second protagonist, Dr. Choi is a pretty and lovely actress. Her reactions towards Heo Im are epic, very well executed.
The TV show progressed very well, enough moments you thought "I hope this will go well" to keep the tension in it.
I only disliked the second to last episode, the romance/ drama went on for far too long, I almost wanted to skip to the end of the episode...
The TV show had a satisfying ending for most people in my opinion. Also a kind of a tease/ cliffhanger at the end. I hope they will make a second season somehow and can keep the story intriguing.
The Haunting of Bly Manor (2020)
Where did it go wrong?
This series actually started out pretty good comparable to Hill House, lots of mystery. Suddenly this series became a mix of a Sense 8 soap, horror scenes are non existent, the last episodes felt like watching the same over and over again.
Please go watch The haunting of Hill House instead, don't waste your time on this one.
The only thing they both have in common is that they have good actors.
The Haunting of Hill House (2018)
Overall a good horror TV show
I watched both haunted series but in the wrong order. What a difference, coming from Bly Manor you realise how bad that series really was. Hill House is on a complete different level, the things Bly Manor lacks like good horror, lots of mystery, a decent plot does Hill House so much better.
Ome
Overall a really good horror TV show.
The Witcher (2019)
Henry Cavill was born to play Geralt Of Rivia
First, I don't think they could have taken a better actor for Geralt as Henry Cavill. At times I like him even more than the Geralt in game, this role comes so natural to him there is no one that could have played it better.
Overall a very good show, I didn't read the book but I played witcher 1 and 2 and how many times I had oh that's exactly what happend in game.
Image quality is very good and sharp colorful scenes. The atmos track is not the best I heard. No flying dragons in the upper channels missed opportunity there, I do remember I heard the arrows flying above my head in the arrow scene but that's about it, but for a TV show the sound is better than most shows so I can't complain.
The only thing that made me take 2 points is the destruction of one of the finest main characters in the Witcher series. I can't comprehend why they did that to Triss, she went from basically Geralt's lover and main compagnon to a square that looks like she has not a grain of importance in the story, standing in the shadow of Yennefer... such a waste of a good character.
You (2018)
One of these rare cases where the second season is better than the first
The first season was interesting, got a good Dexter vibe of it already. But Beck was ''meh'' as an actor in comparison to Love. Victoria Pedretti talents can make you feel like you start to care about her as a fictional character, which is rare for me.
The ending of season 2 was for me also unexpected. Strong ending this is where it went wrong with Dexter at the end.
All in all a great TV show that makes you want to see the next episode everytime.
Salem (2014)
It's not bad just because it isn't a historically correct documentary.
For all the witch wannabees here and the people who complain "This series is not historically correct because it's too supernatural". What do you expect from a witch series? Do you really think the witch season in American Horror Story is so much more realistic? The answer is "No". Seriously; resurrecting young school boys, throwing curtains on fire, talking to Ghosts, throwing people against the wall? Wow, very realistic. And even so, these same things that happen in American Horror Story also happen in this series to some degree. Both series were inspired by true events, but in the end they're BOTH pure fantasy.
Yes people, I'm sorry to disappoint you but witches don't exist. Witches were mere humans that got blamed for bullshit in favor of other people. Instead of trying to search for something realistic or true story based things in a witch series go watch history channel you might actually learn something.
Okay, now for my opinion of this series. I do really like the series. It's very entertaining and the writer did a good job at making these scenarios. Every episode is refreshing and the acting isn't bad either. The costumes are also nicely done what makes it look almost real. The special effects are good. I also love the tension.
