Not much like B & B, but, adorable
27 January 2015
I loved this film. It was adorable. Brad Johnson was gorgeous as the leading man and the two leads had good chemistry. It was romantic

While it was barely (almost nothing like) Beauty and the Beast, it was lovely

I'm a sucker for movies like these and big budget Hollywood just don't make them anymore. They're all lewd jokes and sex and violence so it's wonderful to see a romantic and touching movie about falling in love.

I could always watch movies like these so it's a joy to find a surprise like this that I can own and watch again and again and still enjoy it. I wish they could just make more movies with likable leads and a nice story everyone can enjoy, but, they just don't seem to anymore

Shadow on the Mesa (2013 TV Movie)
7/10
Thoroughly enjoyed this. Make a sequel, please

I have to admit that I loved this movie. I've always been a fan of Kevin Sorbo and he didn't let me down in this. Wes Brown as Rawlins is a newcomer worth watching - as proved by his role in the Love Comes Softly prequels. He's gorgeous, strong, silent and brave just like a leading man should be. It had action, adventure, family loyalty and tragedy. Kevin, Wes and Micah Alberti made an excellent trio of heroes. It may not win any awards as it was a bit cheesy, but, I urge anyone to watch it as it was thoroughly entertaining. And it was left open ended enough that a sequel can be made so I'm hoping that they'll make a sequel in the same way they've done with the Goodnight for Justice westerns. Please, make a sequel as it was that good.

Living with the Enemy (I) (2005 TV Movie)

I adore this film, but, ..........

Warning: Spoilers
I love this film and have watched it several times. I adore the romance between Philip and Allison and wished we'd seen more of that part. Philip was a charmer and Mark Humphrey was sexy as hell so I hunted out more of his films. The mystery involving the big corporation and the murders was intriguing as well. BUT the character of Allison just got more and more annoying as she had absolutely no trust for her husband and was not thinking straight. I know she hadn't known him long, but, she knew and loved him well enough to marry him and yet dismissed any belief in him immediately. Poor Philip never really changed character from the time we met him and - apart from arranging that first meeting - never did anything suspicious and yet she thought he was a murderer and she never even apologised. He even warned her to "trust me and not the lies others tell you" and yet she trusted every stranger except him. Having said that, I loved this film and would have loved to see a sequel

An Old Fashioned Christmas (2010 TV Movie)
8/10
Even though it's not really about Christmas, I loved this film

Warning: Spoilers
I'm a sucker for these types of movies so I adored this film. It wouldn't win any awards and the acting - particularly from the leading lady - isn't up to the standard of the first film, but, it is a lovely little movie any romantic should enjoy. I have 3 complaints about it however. 1: The storyline involving Tilly finding her father's family didn't seem right. They accepted each other without hesitation. At first I thought Cameron was paying them to lie, but, it wasn't that complicated. Even Isabella didn't question it. 2: It's a shame they changed the lead actress as Tatiana Maslany was great and had so much chemistry with Isabella and Gad. She would have made this much better. 3: There wasn't enough of Kris Turner as Gad. He stole the movie and he didn't even appear until halfway through the movie. I really enjoyed this film and would love the DVD to add to my collection. It was slightly more romantic than the first, Isabella was more likable and I have to admit that I love Gad. He is the perfect romantic hero. There is no real competition between the two suitors as Cameron is a drunken, womanising jerk compared to Gad's patience, understanding and that lovely punch he does in the barn. I would have known right then and there that he was perfect if I was Tilly, but, she was slightly unlikeable. I would love to see more movies made (maybe with a different young actress playing Tilly) about their adventures in Venice or Gad and Tilly's wedding or Tilly finally getting published or seeing Tilly's lovely family again. I loved Gad, Isabella and Sean and this movie.

Time after Time (2011 TV Movie)
5/10
Won't win any awards, but, it was sweet
27 May 2011
I love Hallmark movies I'm afraid to admit. Most of them wouldn't win any awards, but, are sweet lovely films that do what movies are supposed to do - leaves you entertained and smiling at the end. Most of them you won't remember in a day or two, but, at least they don't leave you numb with shock at the violence, sex or language like big movies do now. So I was looking forward to Time After Time and it didn't disappoint me. It was lovely and gentle and left me smiling. Richard Thomas was marvellous and the ending was rather wonderful. I may not watch this over and over, but, it kept me smiling. Also, the ending of who she went with couldn't have been more obvious as well as what the Doctor did and why the supermarket was no good.
