Poetic masterpiece
30 December 2023
This film is a masterpiece. I don't know whose idea it was to adapt this beautiful story into a movie, but we must congratulate director Agnieszka Holland.

It's quite interesting that, despite Francis Ford Coppola being among the producers, the director of the film is Holland.

The actors, despite their youth, deliver excellent performances. Despite having acted in many films so far, it's strange that they still don't have stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. There's probably a mistake in the management stage.

The music director and composers have done an excellent job. Even in the most suspenseful scenes, there's a sense of Christmas joy.

The casting director and costume director are as successful as the director.

I felt like I was living every moment as if I were there.

I saw the benefit of being forgetful about the plot in this film. I had watched it years ago and didn't remember anything. I thoroughly enjoyed the pleasure of watching a beautiful work.

Thanks to everyone involved.

The name suits good
14 November 2023
It was one of the most senseless movies I've ever seen. The film lasts for 1 hour and 38 minutes, and unfortunately, every minute felt like a waste of time. Just like its title suggests, the movie was completely empty and lacked any meaningful substance. The storyline was confusing, and the characters seemed to exist without purpose. Overall, "Bombos" was a disappointment, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone seeking a fulfilling cinematic experience. My 1 hour and 38 minutes with this film were truly empty.

I personally like the main characters' acting and the director himself. But this one was such a bad movie, I need to forget all about it to like them again.

What a cast!
15 July 2023
This is not just a smartly written scenario; it goes beyond that by presenting a poetic narrative accompanied by an exceptional cast. The film's intelligently crafted screenplay lays a solid foundation, captivating viewers with its compelling storytelling. However, what truly sets this film apart is its ability to transcend mere cleverness and delve into the realm of poetic beauty. The words on the screen dance and intertwine, creating an emotional tapestry that resonates deeply within the audience's hearts. Moreover, the film boasts an outstanding ensemble cast whose performances breathe life into the characters, elevating the entire cinematic experience. With their nuanced portrayals and magnetic presence, the actors infuse the story with raw authenticity and emotional depth. This film emerges as a true masterpiece, seamlessly blending an intellectually stimulating narrative with a lyrical touch, all while showcasing the remarkable talent of its ensemble cast. It captures the essence of the cinematic art form and leaves a profound impact on its viewers, reminding us of the transformative power of cinema.

Immortal old man

Warning: Spoilers
First of all, two out of the four stars I gave are for the beauty of the natural scenery and the costumes depicted in the film. The other two stars are for the performances.

The stars I didn't give are for the writer and director, who have created a screenplay that lacks credibility, exaggerates the concept of creating heroes, and strays far from reality.

They have characters who can shoot their own men with a single bullet but can't seem to hit our hero with dozens of bullets. And our hero is a man in his 60s, no less. The writer must have watched too much Rambo. Only someone who grew up with Rambo could write such absurd scenes.

We also learned something from this film, corpses are bulletproof. Even against heavy machine guns :)

I love fairytales
5 October 2022
Very poetic way of telling stories.

I really missed this kind of fairytale movies.

Was that Bocelli singing at the end of the movie? :)

Some parts had poor visual effects but it's totally OK as well.

The main roles are almost perfect in acting. They gave the feeling.

We used to have more fairytales before. After industrialization, people lost their fairy part and we became surrounded by loads of violence and crime.

I hope this movie will uprise the need of fairytales in human hearts. Love should prevail again.

The director, who has done violence movies like Mad Max, should keep on doing movies like this.

Thank you.

Warning: Spoilers
Another one man hero show movie without logical background.

Downsized super hero/ family man Mike saved everyone.

He would be a Marvel character if he could fly.

Come on, where's the logic?

Warning: Spoilers
I had high hopes.

While watching the movie, if you're a realist like me, you ask yourself "HOW? WHAT? BUT HOW?"

They know the name, they have the footage of the guy but still searching :) He can walk around freely? He just put an eyeglass and change the identity? Come on, this is not Superman and Clark Kent.

He has access everwhere and yet not some easiest parts

Episode 4, the journalist lady could find this guy's house (the whole France Police Department couldn't) and didn't know the guy's name?

Total garbage.

Relatively underrated
16 October 2020
Smooth and positive absurd comedy but not many knows that it exists.

Music, acting and the story telling is really nice.

I'm really surprised when I watched it. My expectations were low. It was beyond my expectations and much more.

Really underrated movie.

Underrated cast
20 September 2020
This is not a serious movie. It's dark comedy, I don't know what people expected from it but it doesn't deserve this rate.

The cast is extraordinary. Christopher Walken and Sigourney Weaver on side roles? Come on, this movie deserves more.

I was really touched by the excellent acting.

The story is also very well designed. Some unnatural things happened but not too much.

Very good work.

Slow, really really slow
4 August 2020
Some scenes are like stop motion or frozen. The director loves neck shots. Still shots too.

The more slower the movie, the more festivals tend to give more awards.

This movie could be a silent movie, nothing would change.

Very cheezy movie
15 July 2020
The only thing that touched me about this movie was realising the lead actress Christina Grimmie's death at the end.

The movie was a total disaster every way otherwise. Bad acting and no logic.

I'm really sorry about Christina Grinmie's death so I will not write too much.

Good story telling, but!
21 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
There're many logical gaps everywhere.

A black cop, talking to kkk executive, got id from kkk but actual undercover white cop hasn't been recognized by his voice? Why he kept talking to kkk executives while white cop could do that?

And the black cop gave police station's number to kkk :)

The end the movie was really strong. Spike Lee knows how to hit and run.

Wandering textile patterns with soundtrack.

What is the genre of this thing? Because I'll never waste my time again.

If you have textile pattern fetish you should watch this. Otherwise it's a total waste of time.

I don't even know if this contain spoilers :)

Just the cast
10 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Has anyone understood how they've found the guy's home from a missing photo with detailed background?

And when the guy has kidnapped the police car, Morgan Freeman asked Monica Potter to shoot the wheels, but he didn't shoot at all? He had the gun in his hand. They could easily block the police car with their SUV but no, they shooted from a distance.

I gave 4 stars for the cast and acting only.

Bad imitation of many
16 March 2020
Seems like Icelanders decided to remake a crime series like Swedish and Danish producers did before. Can not compare because the real ones were much better.

I gave 5 points because the director was good. The script is just another copy. Acting is not bad, not good. Iceland as a country got the most points because it's a dark story and it's winter time.

Bron / Broen is the best example of these crime stories from Scandinavia. This one could be a bad imitation of Bron.

Fictional Documentary
3 February 2020
If you intend to shoot a docu-drama with some historians commenting on it, you need to base your story on the real facts.

This is not a docu-drama about Mehmet nor Ottomans; this is a story of the great defence strategist, mighty Guiliani.

If it's another legendary story; I could give it 8 (which I did because I respect the work done).

As a docu-drama I could only give 3 maybe.

A docu-drama should be researched well. This one was not. Where's the Orthodox Patriarch? Mehmet gave him the Ecumenical Power right after the conquest. This was the greatest wisdom of his time. And Mehmet was a great strategist, artist as well as an intellectual.

This story has very few accurate facts. That was disappointing.

Extremely over-rated movie
26 January 2020
After watching the movie I checked IMDB score.

There should be some kind of Korean Film Maffia or IMDB Trolls who voted with high score.

A complete nonsense.

After a hour, you start to look at the screen and say "WHY?".

All nonsense movies gets some award from the festival juries. I think they may wanna show off something like "we understood the sarcasm but you don't".

And Ryan Reynolds.

This sum seems like a good combination.

Poetic, too good to be true
11 December 2019
I'm personally fan of Hayao Miyazake and I had some doubts about this movie. I thought "they can never do an animation as Miyazake did".

But I was wrong.

Soundtracks, artwork and everything was in order. 93 minutes of joy.

I loved it.

19 September 2019
I've watched many nonsense Chinese, American, Indian, Turkish movies. But this was the top.

Those nonsense movies has that "OK, I'll go crazy at some point" message from the beginning. But this one was in disguise. Started like an ordinary Swedish movie. And than...

COME OOON! How could you spend so much production budget to this script?

Perfect cast, very bad scenario

Alright Hollywood, we got that, you love action. But put some logic in it please. This Jaws kind of thriller music deserves better excitements.

One word for the cast; haven't you read the script before accepting it? Come on.
