The Deep End (2022)
Needs More Episodes
This was a very well done documentary. I just wish there were more episodes because it feels like it ended in the middle. I don't feel like it showed bias for or against Teal Swan. If anything, it exposes the struggle that she deals with running her company and her life when they are one and the same. It also shows the struggle that her closest companions have when trying to live their lives and also maintain loyalty to Swan and what they pledged to her when working for her. It humanizes Teal and the viewer can understand why she has her list of "non-negotiables", but also shows how that list can't be forever followed by her inner circle forever if they ever want a life of their own. Certainly shows why her tribe can be considered cultish. I hope they come out with a follow up.
Carole Baskin's Cage Fight (2021)
Promising But Only 2 Episodes
Love that it kind of shows Carole's side, but it focused more on spying on "the bad guys" more than anything. It shows that Jeff Lowe is a POS no matter whose side you're seeing. I wish there were more episodes to really make this something better.
To Dust (2018)
Rilliant,Touching, Effing Real
Jewish or not...it doesn't matter. I'm Jewish, but not Hasidic. This grabbed me at the core as a human. Such a beautiful movie. I wish they ended it with more answers. Both Broderick and Rohrig did SUPERB jobs bringing their characters to light. If only they could do another movie together!!!
The Rachel Divide (2018)
Well Worth Watching
I agree with everything the first 5 reviewers already said, especially the third reviewer (Shaun V) . This documentary shows so much more to the story than what the headlines told. It shows a real person struggling as a mother, a sister and as a human. If you can allow yourself to really watch this and keep open minded to her staunch childhood, her adopted siblings childhood and her obviously unresolved issues, then the compassionate part of you can possibly see why she chose to go the route she did. That's not to say she couldn't benefit from professional help to work through the deep seeded causes, but this documentary brings to the light the actual human behind the headlines.
