Nothing Burger, Move Along People.

Have you ever thought about why "The View" has an audience? So far, after 3 episodes I can only guess, even the overly passive, gossipy, rumor spreading, weak and beggarly need their form of entertainment.

What you have here is, a cast of societal under qualified misfits trying to impress well beyond their abilities, and that fully includes the people responsible for writing the script. My guess? A stage finally offered for pretentious pseudo intellectual mediocrity's.

I can't help but feel this crew actually portray their own true self characters, where talent is merely having the ability to memorize your meaningless lines, a bit of over acting and the possibility of 15 minutes of fame and you got Bob's autograph.

On the other hand (if you actually love this show), if you're looking for anything that resembles life pertaining to mundane bureaucratic institutional academic ignorance, well this just might be up your alley (birds of a feather).

For the general public who expect another Bob Odenkirk award winning TV Series, trust me when I say, this is FAR FROM IT! This show is so far out there, you'll be wondering "OMG!!! NO WAY!!! What was Odenkirk even thinking when he took this role?".

So why did I watch 3 episodes so far? I couldn't help but think, there's no way this can be so unimaginative and boring, without giving it a fair chance. Possibly, 3 x's a charm? I really wanted to like it? And finally, There's got to be more!!! (sadly and disappointingly, I was wrong).

The conclusion? 3 x's is no charm = 3 Stars (out of ten) merely for the presence of Bob, and high time to warn the others!

Sorry Bobby, but you better put your knickers on before your boots next time.

WAY UNDERATED! I loved this movie so much, I cried with happiness at the end!
7 November 2022
OMG!!! I don't know how to explain why I loved this so much without ruining the ending. All I can say is, IN ALL HONESTY! Unless you're easily frightened, vindictive, easily angered over being taken for an idiot, OR! Just have a biased hatred toward Mel Gibson, anyone not suffering from the above psychosis and who loves a really awesome ending with a couple of completely unexpected twists, will simply be hugely surprised at what a GREAT MOVIE THIS TRULY IS.

Trust me when I say, I'm not that easily impressed, and rarely give high ratings, especially with so many bad movies pouring out of Hollywood these days. So why the 10 star rating? Watch it and you'll fully understand, I wasn't exaggerating one iota.

Don't waste your time!
17 December 2017
Amateur hour on a cheap budget that shouldn't even be considered a B movie. I actually feel sorry for those that wasted their time producing it. The 10 star ratings are highly misleading. If you haven't seen it already, may I highly recommend the 97' TV Mini Series/ Movie (nearly 3 hrs long), "The Odyssey" with Armand Assante as "Odysseus".

Not Convincing Enough
25 November 2015
Lake Bell completely ruined this movie for me. As someone who should have been extremely frightened came off highly amateurish and obviously fake. which instantly pulled me right out of the moment. The script put way too much effort in all the "too lovey dovey" hugging and fake moaning when they should have been running for their lives, especially toward the end when they were all finally safe, I felt like I was watching an old Lassie episode with absolutely no dialect. The oldest child needs acting lessons and came off more like an irritating screaming brat putting everyone's lives at risk, all of which is reminiscent of a poorly written script, very poor acting. Who ever directed this should go to day time soap operas. There's a lot more wrong with the way this film was directed, but I already feel I've wasted too much of my time.

When has WILL FERRELL Ever Let You Down? Hilarious!
2 April 2014
Proof is in the pudding, WILL FERRELL DELIVERS as usual. Now add a Star Studded Cast, spoofs on Cable/T.V. News and lots of cool surprises that keep the movie flowing and YOU Laughing! Never a boring moment and a few moments that tug on your heart strings.

Loved the spoof on cable and t.v. news (Ratings generated redundancy/Entertainment news; Biased Opinionated Entertainment Passing itself off as News), speaking of which, where was FAUX News? Don't mind the extreme critics, When has WILL FERRELL ever let you down? (rhetorical)

For a RedBox rental, I loved the length of the movie. To be able to sit back in your comfortable lounge for 119 minutes, remote on pause for intermittent snacks & drinks, watching pure hysterical, crazy, loony, stupid funny, wit, sex, drama, the whole kitchen sink that keeps you glued and eventually satisfied.

WARNING! If You don't want to feel ripped off!
24 January 2014
Don't fall for favored reviews! Speaking of which, I'm doing you a favor!

What you'll experience! Very poor acting (constantly reminded you, you just wasted your money) by what seems to be mere amateurs, not to mention a non believable stupid plot. Truly the dumbest movie I've seen in a long time. Once you've seen this movie, you'll realize you've been duped into renting/buying/watching a very cheap budgeted B rated movie.

It's as if a bunch of simple minded young adults said, hey! Let's make a blood and guts movie using a real house (no movie set), slap a simple title on it and we'll get rich off the suckers who fell for it.

I already feel like I've wasted more time than I should writing this "WARNING" (doesn't deserve a critique/review), but I'm passionate about saving other good intelligent people from wasting their time or money.

Trust me! The Odds would be in your favor should you wear a blindfold and pick out any other movie from the Redbox.

Better Than The ODYSSEY, BIG FISH, BEOWOLF!
1 August 2013
Short and brief! Never mind the critics, SEE THE MOVIE! Very rarely do you see a movie that is this captivating AND! EXCITING!!! Made me feel like I was there! Special effects/CGI was spot on! (Where was the kitchen sink?) Forgive me, but I've never wrote a review ever in my life on a movie till now! So why now? This Movie is simply AMAZING!!! and truly deserves a logical and rational rating. After reading the less than 7 Star reviews, I had to ask myself, who are these people and why waste their time downing a movie over a few minor details (standards of perfection are impossible).

I'm 55 Yrs old and pretty much have seen em' all! I can not for the life of me understand how this movie was so underrated...Now I know the meaning of "Bad Critics", as in to Criticize! So maybe they've lost their childhood innocence, inner child and imagination. Doesn't mean the rest of us have! Now regretting not seeing this in Theaters (Poor Marketing/Promos?), but thank GOD for DVD's, Thunderous Subs and Surround Sound! From beginning to end! The acting and costumes were nothing less than superb, The exquisite detail and effects for that time period prove CGI lived up to the movies enormous budget ($185–200 million).

Better than "The Princess Bride", Better than Star Wars! Larger than "Titanic"., I'll watch it again and again! and without doubt, recommend it to ALL my friends and family. Going up on myFacebook for certain! The rest of my family also gave this movie a super high ranking. 114 minutes just didn't seem long enough. One movie that truly deserves a sequel. For instance, such as a story line where Jack orders the giants to repair the destroyed Kingdom, plowing fields, mining for Precious Metals, etc, and help combat invading dark armies.

Certain to be a classic amongst all ages, this movie is not only top drawer, but imo, the best thing to come out in AGES!

According to "ondvdreleases" and their Best Top 10 Adventure movies released in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 based off rentals) included this movie as Numero Uno! #1.

My favorite adventure movies: e.g. The Odyssey, Big Fish, Beowulf, Beowulf and Grendel, Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit, Life of PI, Back to the Future, (Trilogy), War Horse, Apocalypto, Avatar, Raiders of the Lost Ark, A.I. Artificial Intelligence, Pan's Labyrinth, Legend, Pirates of the Caribbean series, Clash of the Titans, to name a few! (and not necessarily in that order)

I won't be entirely satisfied until I own the "Jack the Giant Slayer (Blu-ray 3D/Blu-ray/DVD + UltraViolet Digital Copy Combo Pack).

Never mind the peanut gallery! and Watch this Movie folks! It's truly one of the years BEST by a long shot! So don't miss it on account of a few who just have different taste in entertainment. YOU and Your kids are going to LOVE IT!

Left to Die (2012 TV Movie)

True Story about Sandra Chase
22 May 2013
This movie depicts the true 1997 story of the anti-American injustices and backwards legal system experienced by 53 yr old "Anti-Drug" Sandra Chase (played by Barbara Hershey), who was held without trial or due process for nearly two years even while terminally ill in an Equadoran Prison (in Quito). Although claiming complete innocence, In real life, Sandra Chase (one of many) experienced beatings by other inmates, deplorable inhuman stench conditions, where prisoners are forced to defecate in the hallways (no toilets in overcrowded small cemented cells), where prison guards who take bribes and payoffs repeatedly brutally rape, beat and mentally abuse American prisoners. To make matters worse, Sandra Chase was denied medical treatment for her scelroderma, a fatal rare disease that attacks the skin and organs and was eventually thrown into a dungeon like atmosphere without food or clean water for 5 days, and when fed, barely surviving on chicken parts and vegetables (not depicted in the movie). "My bible was the only thing they didn't steal," Chase said, "That's the only thing that kept me going".

There are scores of other Americans being held in Ecuadoran prisons. Since Rep. Brown's intervention, over 800 prisoners have been released and more than 2,000 are slated to be set free. Still, the backlog of cases creates a system where the innocent are punished more harshly than the guilty and families are incarcerated for a crime of one member. A Typical Situation, Rep. Brown said the Chase case is typical of many of the estimated 58 Americans being kept in deplorable conditions in Ecuadorian prisons.

After watching the movie, I became outraged that so much bias and anti-American prejudice actually exists in such barbaric conditions by the Equadoran unjust and backwards legal system, not to mention, the high degree of danger of possible false arrest during your stay, for anything that would warrant an excuse to throw innocent U.S. victims into hellish prison conditions. Even if guilty, the punishment of such inhuman conditions hardly fits the crime, where you will be instantly treated as guilty before having any chance of proved innocent. To make matters worse, never knowing how many years before you even get a trial (with the possibilities of ending up with one of their non English, Spanish speaking lawyers}, You'll never know!

Question I'm asking myself is, How many Americans or non So. American citizens have died in this countries stench overcrowded prisons?

I gave this movie 10 out of 10 for it's descriptive warning like effect as a "Wake Up Call" for those who may have otherwise felt safe traveling abroad in drug trafficking 3rd world countries. No spoilers for the movie were used, other than my brief explanation of the true events. Point being, before traveling anywhere outside the U.S., It would be very wise to educate yourselves before leaving U.S. American soil and know what you are truly up against. Why take chances!

Who appoints 12 yr old's to fight Giant Beasts and Fireball WMD's
19 August 2012
(((((((((SHUDDER))))))))) Truly, one of the most pathetic movies I've been conned into watching in over a decade. All the hoopla was nothing more than over-hyped marketing and deceptive.

Who ever wrote a script (or book) where 12 yr old's are eligible to fight huge beasts (not to mention terrible unbelievable Animatronics) or precisely aimed huge mortar/cannon speed fireballs, as fast a you can run, spreading all around you forest engulfing fires, computer satellite programmed weaponry and instant dangerous life forms appearing out of nowhere, should be publicly drawn and quartered for complete stupidity and a very poor imagination with no regard for the definition of "HELLO? REALITY CHECK!!!".

Why not just lower the age of murderous combat warriors (Tributes?) to 5 and 10 yr old's? or better yet, better suited as an animated 2D Saturday morning half hour cartoon, because it doesn't deserve to be a movie! Anyone disagreeing, I have to say, hey! Even stupid people think their right sometimes.

The actions scenes were too sporadic (scattered), too jerky/fast and way too dark where you could hardly tell what was actually going on. The script just didn't make any logical sense! I about cried myself a river when big sister decided to volunteer and take little sisters place...BOO FREAKING HOO! Why didn't they just ask for VOLUNTEERS IN THE FIRST PLACE? From the very beginning, It became obvious, this movie was nothing more than "B" Grade BS. Panders toward the community of Underdeveloped Brains, with the true victims being the parents who end up paying for it all.

WARNING!!! THIS IS PURE ADULTERATED PANDERIZING (toward the ever growing large mass populace of idiots and morons) GARBAGE! DO NOT! WASTE YOUR MONEY!
