David Frost Presents: How to Irritate People (1969)
Everything you didn't like about Monty Python in one package!
Painfully slow paced and tedious. Horrendously bad taste, racist Michael Palin in brownface playing an Indian waiter in one sketch. Horrifying men in drag portraying women as vacuous and petty. I'm amazed they got any further than this in show business with this abomination. Thankfully, they came to their senses somewhat and came up with better material than this embarrassing tripe.
Downhill Racer (1969)
What A Piece of Shi....
Hollywood types trying to make an art film. What A joke. Those guys wouldn't know art from their asz. Worst movie I ever suffered through.
Fury (2014)
Not totally unrealistic....in spite of what people think.
Having read all of Stephen Ambrose, I recall one hedgerow story in which the Germans fought SO badly and lost so many soldiers that the Americans felt bad for them. The Germans walked right into an entrenched American force who mowed them down left and right with very little loss of American life. Stuff like this happens in war. Late in the war there would not have been "crack" German forces left to defend Germany. All these complaints about how badly the Germans fought are not that unrealistic. But, yes, there were a lot cliché scenes and characters in this movie.
