The Marine (2006)
Fairly good action movie
OK, I am a WWE fan, so there was no way in hell I was going to miss this one. And I must admit, the trailers for it looked awesome. I went to the very first showing at our local movie theater, so I was one of the first ones to see it in our general area. There were kids there, which being a Friday I was sort of surprised at. Shouldn't they be in school? Anyway, the movie itself was pretty good. The beginning started off pretty slow, they had to setup the fact that he came back from the Marines (opening scene with him as a Marine was AWESOME), and the fact that he was having trouble adapting to life as a security guard (I don't want to give anything away here, so I won't say another word about it). Once the kidnapping happens, it really takes off. I personally think Robert Patrick stole the show as Rome. There was a "Terminator" reference, which he didn't seem to enjoy that much. For those of you who don't know, Robert Patrick was the T-1000 in Terminator 2: Judgement Day. The one thing that I didn't like was the music. Half the time it sounded like something out of a bad porn movie, not that I would know what those sound like. Everything else makes it just a good action flick. This definitely won't go down as an all time classic, but for movie fans and WWE fans, this is definitely worth the money.
BattleBots (2000)
Why did they take this off the air?
Bottom line. The only show Comedy Central had that was worth watching, other than maybe the Daily Show. Sure, SNL was great, but after I saw every episode, it wasn't worth it anymore. And 90% of the comics on any of the standup shows aren't really that funny. After about a year, they finally made another show worth watching, Chapelle's Show.
And as far as Robot Wars goes? I used to watch Robot Wars all the time when it used to be on PBS. After I discovered Battlebots, Robot Wars was out the door.
and for those who miss Battlebots, try buying Robot Arena: Design and Destroy for the PC. Pretty good game.
Freddy vs. Jason (2003)
Money Well Spent
This was money well spent to go see this movie. Everything is in place for this movie to be great. Both franchises are well represented here, as you have the blood and guts of a Jason movie, combined with the psychology of a Freddy movie. The first murder on Elm Street was probably the best of any killed by Jason. Freddy is there to zing in one of his one liners. All I can say, is I can't wait until FvJ 2, and I give this movie a 4 out of 5.
Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place (1998)
Still on TV
For those of you who don't know, if you want to catch the antics of Pete, Berg, Sharon, Johnny, Maureen and Ashley, they are still on TV. Every weekday, they can be found on WE-Women's Entertainment (Yes, I am a guy, and yes, that is the ONLY show I watch on that network). I get mine through digital cable, and they are on at 1:00, 1:30, 6:00 and 6:30. The episodes on at 6:00 and 6:30 are the next days 1:00 and 1:30 episodes. Its actually funnier the second time around.
