Dance 100 (2023)
3/10
If you've seen World of Dance or SYTYCD, don't watch this
23 September 2023
Finalists were awesome. Really awful directing and editing though. There were routines where you won't see the end because the cameras were on an audience member's reaction. I feel like the director didn't take note during the dress rehearsal.

This won't be getting any technical emmy's either. Some focal dancers can't be seen sometime because they were flooded by light or drowning in fog.

If you found World of Dance and So You Think You Can Dance entertaining, you'll be underwhelmed by this.

Oh, plus I don't believe their claim that they picked the Top 100 professional dancers in the world.

Extremely Fun

I was very entertained. I don't know why reviews are so vicious. This movie never pretended nor made an effort to be oscar-worthy. Just lots of action. Made me laugh hard, too.

I really like it

I didn't really expect an oscar-worthy script. Production and action scenes were great. Quick-paced storytelling. CGI was tasteful. Very entertaining. Maybe disappointing for people who have played the game, but that's their experience. Not mine.

Overrated. AF

Warning: Spoilers
  • Just when the story gets almost interesting, it cuts to another scene of very little sense. When the suspended topic was eventually revealed, turns out to be nothing. Like the blueprint incident that was being built up a few times, turned out she just put doodles on the plans.

  • Unnecessary long scripts, like about the clock repairman. It could have been blurted as "I didn't hire anyone to repair the clock", instead he went on and on to give a long trivial essay on the clock which was so inconsequential to the story.

  • Could have been shown in 5 episodes instead of 10
  • No real horror scenes.

Great acting though.

Overall, watch something else that doesn't reel you in just to build up suspense over something underwhelming.

Very bold.

Warning: Spoilers
I don't remember it being that slow, as some reviews say. I found myself intrigued right from the beginning.

I really liked this title, because, instead of preaching, it shows you both sides to the central dilemma. Revelations, including the last twist, were quite shocking.

Characters were well written and multi-dimensional. One can start thinking that the father was a predictable, self-righteous prick, but that is totally negated by later actions.

Acting was good, especially from the father and son.

To the lower reviews, If you're not into blockbuster entertainment, why the hell did you watch this?

I don't understand the indignance in the bad reviews... were you expecting an intellectually stimulating experience? From the title and poster alone, you would have known that this was just another of Dwayne's movies... and you have seen his movies. You know he's not Liam Neeson nor is he Leonardo diCaprio. He's all about formula blockbuster movies with big budgets, explosions, a tiny touch of human drama.

Geez, get over youselves, were you expecting Forrest Gump of Revenant?

Back with a Bang

Probably their best episode ever. The last two scenes and parting shot is really heart-wrenching. Brilliantly acted too. Milo Ventimiglia's understated acting affects the scenes in the best way. It's funny how they've made us aware of the demise from the first season but we're still on the edge of our seats hoping it won't come.

I really love how they show depth to even the least complicated relationships.
