I don't know what to think.

Let's start with the main character. Was he... in love? With a 10 year-old girl?? That made me really uncomfortable throughout the movie. And I really hope that I simply did not understand it very well.

The idea behind the movie is very good, I come from this region and people really did take pictures of their dead ones - so that was a nice touch, but not enough. So they added ghosts and somehow they couldn't pull it through - they were all over the place with that idea, you will see what I mean, I don't want to spoil it for you.

Acting was bad, especially child's. In several scenes she could not even act interested when adults had their long lines, she did her best god bless her, but it was weak and unfortunately not so good. Including the scenes where she supposed to be scared, simply not convincing.

The story took place in a small village, and it was accurate, the houses indeed looked like that. But I couldn't but notice that everything was too sterile, too clean - the houses and walls were sooo white it hurt my eyes, the objects around the houses so specclean, like you stepped into a museum of some sort. No dirt, no mud, no charred walls from cooking , their clothes were new and spotless like they just arrived from a tailor.

They tried to present that it was extremely cold, so cold that the ground was frozen and they couldn't bury their dead. But you could see the snow thawing, sun shinning, in one scene a little boy was using the rope to go from one place to another, just like some people use during big storms - and there was not even snowing!

The corpses looked very creepy, I can give them that....

First of all, the movie is not that bad. But if you've seen one movie with a similar topic you've seen them all. That being said, there were no huge surprises or plot twists here. The first half of the movie was unnecessarily long. They probably wanted us to feel closer with the characters, but it was a little bit boring to be honest. Not to mention the scary and ominous music all over the place. For example, they are with some friends, having dinner and looking at some art on the wall, chatting and laughing and there it is - ominous music. They are drinking wine with other friends - there it is again, ominous music. For absolutely no reason at all, because I remind you, the real "tension" begins only in the second part of the movie. The only thing that surprised me a little bit was the ending, very risky for the director, I expected something else. Otherwise very predictable.

You will not regret watching this movie. Though I am a huge horror movie fan, I must say that the movie would've been so much better without the last part. Beautiful Africa, great characters and an intriguing story - I really enjoyed the movie. I would love it even more if it was a mystery instead of horror. Loved the cast , the nature, their customs and legends. But still the last third of the movie was somehow... Poorly executed. Still, I think it deserves a good grade! Africa is beautiful, full of myths and legends. It has such a potential for future projects! Hopefully we will see more movies like this!

The idea was not that bad, although I'm not a big fan of found footage movies but I liked the "Host" for example and I watched quite a few of these movies. The lead female character ruins it honestly, I don't know, is it supposed to be funny? We supposed to think "Wow, what a crazy chick, she is so urban and cool not giving a damn about anything and anyone " 😑😑 Really? And she is what, forty? I thought that we overcome that way of thinking and that behavior in highschool, and yet, this is a movie for 18+, so I'm wondering what their target audience is... It is annoying as hell and I actually stopped watching it in the middle and decided to finish it after all several days later before erasing it. Annie Hardy did not contribute to this movie in any way whatsoever, and what's more, movie would have been GREAT without her and her character. And her rapping in the last 10 minutes of the movie? Oh boy... Had to skip it honestly although she was doing it throughout the movie as well from time to time, so be prepared.

Great idea, I really liked it at first, full of mystery and an occult. But then it got a little bit... Let's say, confusing. Some parts didn't make sense, they did not bother to explain it or to "develop" a story a little bit. The ending was somehow disappointing. Too bad, since I like these types of movies, and like I sad, it had such a potential. Still it is not a total waste of time, actors are good, there is an eerie atmosphere throughout the movie, etc. It is not bad, just not very good :) if that makes sense :)

I honestly think that even fans of horror movies with dolls find this movie a garbage. The voice of the doll Patty is ugh... I cannot even... Did they think if someone talks like a baby that would be, what? Scary? Dolls sound like they have some sort of speech impairment. Avoid this movie it's just... Ridiculous.

It's a great story, we could learn a little bit about China, Chinese culture and society, as well as the pressure on women to stay young and beautiful. Also the position of women in their society, fascinating. An abortion is performed only if the child is a girl, husbands want sons and so on... There is a lot of sex :) but it's a horror movie from an early two thousands, not to mention the topic, so I guess it's ok, I did not mind it that much, I was rewinding when the scenes were too long :)

You can pass this one... I noticed the music from the TV show "Exorcist", and I watched at least 2 more low budget horror movies from the past year using the same music (maybe now they can use it for free?) This is a classic haunted house movie plus a little bit about the occult. I've been too generous giving it 3 stars.

Yeah, there are some hot girls, but it is well executed. We could see a sexy woman's body without shoving her boobs to the camera. I am not sure if they ever get naked actually, guys probably notice those things better than me :) The kissing scene was funny, but it revealed right away where were they going with this movie :) There were some inconsistencies but it did not bother me that much... Not bad.

I am not sure what to think of this movie, I expected so much more to be honest. Literally nothing was happening 90% of the movie. They did not bother to explain girl's relationships too much. It was a little bit confusing. Scenes are unnecessarily long most of the time, I dozed off several times. Kristen Dusten sure did cry a lot....

I see that a lot of people complain that actors smoke a lot. But I love it, it is so natural and I hate when directors try avoid using it in movies, trying to be politically correct. It is simply realistic. I didn't notice that costumes were "cheap" as someone said, I liked it actually. And trust me, I watched TONS of horror movies. It rarely happens that I am thinking about a horror movie for several days after it's over. Yes, the reason why they headed for that journey in the first place is a little bit naive, but it did not ruin my overall impression about the movie. I LOVE the forest, the sounds, acting - so spooky! If you are a fan of horror movies, you don't want to miss this one! It's a gem and I'm surprised that it got such a low score....

It is a great zombie show, zombies are fast, vicious and it is so difficult to get away :) I was a little bit frustrated when people were wasting their ammo (aim for the head for Christ's sake) but on the other hand, I suppose it can be really difficult to aim when you are running for your life and panicking - so let's say it's sort of realistic... The movie kept me on suspense the whole time. So yeah, I liked it and I am looking forward to seeing the second season... You shouldn't miss this one

Movie is sooo slow... Basically nothing happens throughout the movie. And the story about newlyweds crazy in love like teenagers is just. Uhhh. Ok we get it, they love each other, why making it so annoying, couple of scenes would be enough, but noo, they keep bombarding us with sex and stupid trashy dialogs. It supposed to be a mystery, but I could tell right away from the first "scary" scene what was all that about (worse than I expected actually) . Skip it. Don't waste your time.

I've started to watch it in English (dubbed) - oh what a mistake to make :) Right there I could see that it is completely emotionless. So I played the first episode again with English subtitles this time and after finishing the season 2 I can just say It BLEW MY MIND , great acting and casting... Brilliant. Just brilliant. Can't wait for the next season!! I honestly think that this show is not for teenagers who like to watch Marvel and similar superhero stories. This is far more mature and definitely breath taking. I sincerely recommend it!!

The movie is not that bad, I really think that it deserves a higher grade, (around six)! Little boring in the first 10 minutes but later it's starts getting better... All in all, a good movie, I've watched worse rated much higher.
