The Santa Clauses (2022)
Not bad, could have been better especially the horrible intro1
This series could have been basically been made into a film.
I had high hopes for this series though, especially as the Santa Clause 3 was awful. I thought this might might have been a redemption.
It was good to see original cast members in the series and the plot wasn't too bad however it was annoying and could be improved.
Please however get rid of that awful intro, it's just terrible.
Lastly it has a slow start and a quick finish. I feel like they ran out of ideas, either that or they just rushed it. Tim Allen played his character very well as always but would like to have seen more of Cal and his love interest and her curiosity of Christmas, overall 6/10.
Coming 2 America (2021)
Absolutely awful
Three stars for the cast, excluding Jermaine Fowler who ruined this film.
This was such a HUGE waste of a sequel to the first one.
Firstly, Coming 2 America, how long did Akeem visit America in this film? Two/three short clips. Misleading title.
What's with all the rap and pop culture? Wearing crowns on a slant? This film is a disgrace to the first one and takes the mick. It had no moments and didn't feel like a family film the first did so well.
Story was just bad, where's the royalty going back undercover in America?
Please please please don't watch this film if you love the first. Its painfully bad.
Pretty Cool (2002)
Wish we had a trilogy.
This movie was great, alot better than its sequel but I love the idea and originality.
Wish we had a third movie and other similar stories. Rolfe did a great job on this.
The Heartbreak Kid (2007)
Great comedy, perfect for 2020
I have seen many films especially during lock down. Due to this I have been scouring for a good film, something light, easy to watch and funny. This film provides all that. This film is not as well known as Ben Stiller's better pieces but it does not disappoint.
This film feels like 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall' in reverse and provides great chemistry between Ben and Michelle. It is disappoint to see such a low rating for a good film but that is my opinion.
As I say, if your looking for something to watch which is light, funny and easy to watch, this is a good film to fill in the time. Don't let ratings put you off.
The Dead Don't Die (2019)
Such a disappointment and a waste of talent
After reading the plot and seeing the great cast lineup for this film, I went into it with high expectations. Small town zombie film with Bill Murray as a cop, what's not to like?
Well, everything apart from the main actors abilities to act. The story was slow, boring and awful. I failed to laugh at this 'comedy'.
Makeup and zombies were terrible. An enthusiastic 8 year old could have done a better job.
Shame really, so much potential, yet so much disappointment.
Airheads (1994)
A great movie and a good watch...
This movie is really good, having only recently seen it in the year 2020 for the first time. It was good to see Brendan Fraser in a film I haven't seen before and would be great to see him come back to comedic roles in cinema.
I found this film as I recently watched Billy Madison, this one I frequently watch. I like to look at cast members of old movies to see where the cast is now and noticed Chris Farley died a few years later. I saw that Airheads had Adam, Brendan, Steve and Chris casted in Airheads and the plot looked quite humorous.
Indeed it was, a young Adam Sandler, although doesn't play a major part in the film, plays his part as you would expect and a great start to his long career.
If you are looking for something to watch that is entertaining and humorous, then you may want to give this title a look.
The Voices (2014)
Not a comedy as advertised & not your regular Ryan Reynolds movie.
I was very disappointed with this movie, from the trailers, posters and movie tags, this film looked sure to be a mishap comedy - It was far from it.
I made it through the whole film waiting for that one chuckle which Ryan Reynolds usually provides within his movies but I was left dumbfounded by the whole film.
I was even hoping there would be light at the end of the dark tunnel for this film, maybe his love interest in Anna Kendrick would turn his life and mentality around, nope the ending just provided a song with all the dead characters including Reynolds himself singing a 'Happy Song' which seems quite offensive to Mental Health.
Reynolds, Kendrick and Arterton provided great performances, but with how the film was shown to the public, especially as a comedy, those performances were lost in a 2 hour horror show of nothingness.
My mistake was not looking at the reviews before watching the film, I saw the title had a 6.4 before watching which persuaded me it was a good title.
3 stars, one for each of the three actors above mentioned, the others lost on a plot-less film.
Henchmen (2018)
Watchable, but wasted potential big time...
It is a watchable film but there was so much depth missing which is unfortunate.
The voice acting is perfect and the animation was great, it didn't feel cheap and I am surprised this film only has just over 400 ratings in 2 years...?
This film has a few funny scenes but it could have been so much better! How many films within animation apart from Despicable Me focus on the bad guys?
This film wasted a lot of potential and the script was mediocre.
Shame really, could have been so much better.
Accident (2017)
There is bad, there is horrible and then there is this!
This film is absolutely awful, I couldn't watch more than 20 minutes of this movie. The plot is a good idea, but the acting, jeez and the effects?
This film does not even deserve a lengthy review, even if its a bad review.
Choose something else!
Charlie's Angels (2019)
It was better than the reviews made me expect...
Watching this last night, I couldn't help but have reviews for this film in the back of my mind. Yet I managed to watch it all and it wasn't too bad.
What I don't like about the movie is the fact it keeps advertising that women can do anything men can do. No one is disputing this anymore if anything, men's rights are now being tipped in the same direction women's rights used to be. No such thing as equality.
But rather than make a good reboot of a classic, it is like being force fed feminism. I have absolutely no issues and problems with anyone doing anything, why make a fuss? But why feel the need to keep shouting about it?
I was quite impressed by Kirsten's performance in this movie and the plot was relatively good and I didn't expect a twist but again it's downfall was its very strong statement.
This in turn has most likely killed the Angels in the long run?
Midway (2019)
A long awaited new WWII Movie
I enjoy a good war movie especially with the most accurate details included, this movie provides just that.
Yes the CGI is not too great but it is not terrible like some of the CGI I have seen out there. All actors/actresses provide a great all-round performance which resulted in an accurate portrayal of the Battle at Midway.
Of course you can find some errors and goofs but what movie doesn't.
Canadian Bacon (1995)
Comedy? No. Boring? Yes
I am usually very open with genres and comedies are top of the list so when I saw this film, I thought it may be very good plus the ratings on IMDB swayed me to watch it.
I was a big fan of John Candy and his films but this is not one of them and cannot understand why the ratings are over 6.0.
The script and acting is awful and I couldn't seem to find any comical parts in the entire film. I understand the angle but it was lost on me.
211 (2018)
It's okay, a reasonable watch but...
I watched this on Netflix yesterday as their little teaser trailers made this look like a good bank heist film. I am usually a fan of Nicholas Cage as well so thought it might be a good watch.
I managed to get through the whole film and didn't entirely feel it was such a bad film. I would say the acting is quite bad and you could differentiate between Cage and the other actors. Especially his Partner in the film whom when gets shot in the leg, really overacts the entire ordeal.
Apart from the bad acting and abrupt ending with the mercenaries, the visuals and cameras were good.
It is a shame that the standoff was not between just the one squad car and the mercs. Instead you had the backup Police arrive that can't shoot. Not one merc in the bank gets shot from all the Police outside the bank!
I think the film deserves more than 4 star but this film had more potential.
6 stars from me.
The Muppets (2011)
Awesome
I'm new to IMDb, But surely I'm not the only one to say how great The Muppets movie was. Everything was played to the bone, it's a movie that even haters would probably enjoy and good to bring The Muppets back to life. When I was younger I only watched 'Muppet Treasure Island' & 'Muppets from outer space' (Which I also enjoyed) but watching the 2011 flick, it made me watch the whole Muppet collection. This film, I would highly recommend and guarantee that you would enjoy every second of it. Also the Musical moments within the film are played to such perfection, and to be honest, I don't know why this film has only got a rating of 7.5? Gotta lot of haters out there...
