The New Shmoo (1979–1980)

Mystery gang with a blob called Shmoo that beats old Scooby Doo
17 May 2005
The New Shmoo aired in late 1982 in Sweden under the name "Gnurglan" and was shown in a x-mas series called "Familjen Jullovsson". I have only seen a couple of episodes and have two on video. It is too bad that the episodes are not available on DVD or video. My favorite episode is called "Return of Dracula" that brings the gang to Transylvania where people disappears near Draculas castle.

There are episodes called: The Beast of Black Lake,The Ber-Shmoo-Da Triangle,The Flying Disc of Doom and The Warlock of Voodoo Island.

You might call The New Shmoo a cartoon X-files for children. If you like Scooby Doo you might love The New Shmoo.

Great documentary
11 April 2004
This is a very rare documentary that includes scenes from classic sci-fi movies and series like Outer Limits and The Twilight Zone.

Robin Willams is the host who guide us from the first sci-fi movie and to E.T. and also plays Mork in one of the scenes. Also the Coneheads makes a visit. Williams stumble across a man eating pizza and tries to connect calls in a intergalactic telephone dispatch.

The Documentary is interesting and funny.

Some behind the scene footage from E.T. and a very young Drew Barrymore cries because the movie is so sad.

I did post this submission because I could not find any info about the show on the net.

Do not miss this documentary, if you can find it!
