Lucknow Shoojit style - Thumbs up
13 June 2020
Gulabo Sitabo is a story of greed set in Old Lucknow. The film is centered on an Old Haveli and how various characters conspire and plot to get hold of this precious property. The film has an ensemble of some of the most talented actors in Bollywood. It has clever dialogues. The bylanes of Old Lucknow and Mirza's Haveli has been brought beautifully to the screen. Amitabh Bachchan proves that he is still a legend. Ayushmann choses yet another fantastic script. The acting of the rest of the cast is also spot on. The characters with even smaller parts have been worked upon and brought out beautifullly. ending could have been better though. All in all worth watching. A better film to come out of Bollywood closet in recent times. 8/10.

Parasite (2019)

World cinema at its best.

Its nothing short of a masterpiece. The acting and writing is just excellent. There is never a dull moment in the movie. It is one of those movies where you never have to look at the watch to see how much time has passed by. The class struggle is brought out in a humorous way that is dark and disturbing at the same time. The characters seem very real and remain fresh in memory long after the movie is over. A must watch Korean film.

stunning visuals, great stories.

Warning: Spoilers
Well, I have always been thinking about this. The environment is being degraded at a breakneck speed by human activities. There is no denying this fact. All animals and plant life are being affected negatively in the process. But, is there any plant/animal life that is being affected positively, in any manner. Yes, there are. Certain animal species has adapted themselves to the life in cities and even to a extent that they much better off than their counterparts in the Jungles. The said fact was verified by this last episode of the BBC documentary. Just loved the way they shoot and the stories of wildlife they create in the process. To add to that such beautiful shots of the city I live in was an added bonus. Richard Attenborough's voice over to the beautiful painstakingly taken shots is just another reason you cannot avoid this documentary. Must watch for anyone interested in wildlife in particular and nature in general. 10/10

Fails to entertain
9 May 2011
Warning: Spoilers
All the aamir khan starrers of the recent past had one thing in common, they were huge box office successes and thoroughly entertained the audiences. This one bores the audience to great extent. there is not a single scene that captures you. Aamir and rest of the cast acts well but a film has to entertain which it does not. The scenes that depict Aamir Khan watching a tape of a married woman who has been ditched by her husband is big bore and to add to the misery of the viewer it takes place a lot of times in the movie. After every scene people tend to think now something will happen, or there will be a twist or two in the story, but before you comprehend anything the film is over and many questions remain unanswered. perhaps worst film of Aamir Khan to date.

Dabangg (2010)
8/10
salman: the true superstar of bollywood
10 September 2010
Dabangg is a wholesome entertainer. watching salman in action is great experience for a die hard Salman fan like me. he has perfected the art of delivering cheesy dialogues. there is not much of a story but u come out of the theatre feeling fulfilled and satisfied. The other actors are overshadowed by Salman's Dabangg presence. Sonakshi looks beautiful and does a sensible job, though there is not much to do for her in this Salman starrer. music is great, and looks even better when Salman Khan dances to it.

Watch it in a small town theatre among whistles, weird comments and catcalls to get the real feel of DABANGG.
