Spider-Man 3 (2007)
Spider-Meh
I'm not sure why 2000 people have given this movie a 10. While Spiderman 2 is a definite 10, this follow-up is simply a half baked film. Similar to X3, there are so many poorly executed ideas that the second half just feels rushed.
Now, the first half of the movie is a 9. But the second half just becomes a complete letdown. It actually made me frustrated because it was just so corny. And don't get me started on the Emo Saturday Night Fever/Anchorman Jazz club nonsense.
The real problem with this movie isn't quality so much as potential. All kinds of potential, which just makes you more that it couldn't live up to the hype.
While it is still worth seeing. But not as good as these other reviews would have you believe.
X-Men: The Last Stand (2006)
Good movie...unless you've actually read the comic book, ever.
I went to a midnight showing Thursday night and the crowd was very excited and very happy the whole movie. But after everyone else left there was still a large disillusioned group wondering what happened to a franchise they loved.
It's very easy to see why many people enjoyed this movie. It is by NO means a 10. There are many numerous problems with this movies. It's not garbage like Batman & Robin, but if you've ever read a comic book, you'll probably hate it just as much.
They try and cram so much into this movie, and they waste many valuable characters namely, Angel and Cyclops. Cyclops who has never been used well in these movies is again wasted. Angel was superfluous, seeing as how they could have just inserted ANY mutant into his story arch. The Phoenix storyline was a complete waste. The Phoenix Saga is one of the most successful X-Men Storyline. Hell, the FOX Kids Cartoon gave it more justice than this movie. They could have just done the whole cure thing and called it good. Wolverine is TOO cuddly. And Halle Berry should have never been cast 2 movies ago.
It is not ALL negative. Ian McKellen is great as usual. Juggernaut is fun...but looks kinda stupid. And there are few better than Kelsey Grammar to play Beast.
If you are a casual fan you're bound to enjoy it. But there should have been much more than just that.
6/10 Not as bad as you think, but nowhere near as good as it should have been.

If this movie could be summed up in one word it's "potential". Ironicly that's also one of the more overused words in the movie. Fat has the speed and acting talent to keep this from totally sinking but that's not saying much. And Williams-Scott looks so lost in all of this. They are both talented enough that they it could have worked. The problem: incompetent directing and writing. Nazi's & cliche's abound, save your money for next weeks movies.
