Slow
21 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Very slow. I found myself not caring about any of the characters. Even the little boy. The monster or whatever was somewhat interesting. Until the boy leaves the building and there is a dog barking. A husky comes and the boy is scared, so kid starts running. Dog death happens off screen but horrible sounds. I have a strict no animals die policy. Had to turn it off so I don't know if they show it.

Rainy Day movie
20 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
It's good to watch on a rainy day, or when you are doing something else.

I liked the ending. I burst out laughing - a vegetarian killing all the wolves coming for her. This is why I think they don't explain the islands history. I am mad at the poster or whatever has NOTHING to do with the movie.

So I think Samantha just wants the quiet life of the island and will keep killing those that want her gone.

This is not a horror movie
9 November 2021
I would label it Drama, Mystery and Thriller. To me there was not any horror to the story - more of a gothic tale - which I usually enjoy but not this one. Some cool parts in design, good acting but the plot falls flat. Twist isn't that twisty at the end.

Halloween Kills
16 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Tons of Easter Eggs for fans of the original series does not make a movie.

It hurt my head to watch the movie as a horror fan it had nothing new to offer, except the dead fireman POV. For me that made me loose my suspicion of disbelief. Just really bad.

If you are familiar with the original

You will not be let down by this one. The death scenes are brilliant. Feels like an evolution instead of a reboot. Enjoyed everything about this movie.

Don't waste your time.

We figured it out the first 15 minutes. Just awful. There are many things that just don't even make any sense. Is this from a creepy pasta? It seems like it would be better as a short story.

Tone Deaf
4 September 2021
Completely tone deaf movie. You can tell it's written by men. Viola Davis is the only thing that saves this movie from being utter crap.

Highly predictable, no idea why it's R rated

Warning: Spoilers
Paper thin characters. The dog is the best part of the movie. Super cute french bulldog which does not die, thankfully. I hate that trend in horror movies lately. You get one murder scene payoff but the rest are done off screen, those are huge let downs. Editing is completely abrupt. All the best scenes are in the trailer. You know what the characters will do before they do. Killer's MO not that surprising so the ending goes on a bit too long. Decent plot and acting but everything else is lackluster.

When you turn on a movie for white noise
24 July 2020
And end up with your eyes glued to the screen. Hauntingly beautiful movie. It tells a really good story which is kinda lacking in the reboot-remake Hollywood generation. I want to be taken on a journey with a movie, escape reality. This movie does that. I enjoyed the theme, the story, the acting and writing. I was able to suspend my disbelief. This is one of those movies that does not fit tightly into any one category. I just liked it.

All Cheerleaders Die

I was not expecting a lot from this but I loved it! This was delightful. It really made my day. Horror comedy, revenge with the right amount of camp.

Love Bad Moon Down
23 January 2020
It is a great homage to the original wolf man, the howling and werewolf in London. Wonderful acting, slightly campy and really great practical special effects. I'm so stoked this was renewed for another season and I hope they get an even bigger budget for it! The Finger I find to be a perfectly cute horror comedy. I love the companionship they have, the narration by the main actor is fabulous and funny, and it ended right where I thought it should.

Is this Satire?
19 September 2019
I'm watching this thinking, is this what the hipsters think the 80s was like? The first three seasons were great. Twisty was THE best character in freak show. I don't care to watch drama (with characters that are uninteresting) and a little slashing on the side. I fervently miss Jessica Lang.

Loved it
23 September 2018
I grew up watching action movies with my Dad. Predator is a favorite. And this movie has the feeling of the predator movies while evolving the storyline. The camaraderie between the characters, the acting and the writing I thought wonderfully done. I really don't understand the poor reviews. I cannot wait to see it again.
