Different Carpenter
30 April 2006
I saw so many really bad movies lately but "Cigarette Burns" was good fun watching, nice acting, thrilling, sometimes even a little bit weired. It's not a typical Carpenter - except for the music (even though done by Cody, the "Masters" son).

The first shock scene came - IMHO - absolutely unexpected and me and my gf both jumped! :) The whole mystery about the lost movie is well done and the ending is not unsatisfactory - for me there should have been fire involved, but thats just my personal opinion.

What I didn't really get is the burns of movie parts thing. So what?

Anyway, nice movie - which is a very good comment compared to the masses of bull?*"t out there.

So it comes to the climax ...
13 December 2003
This movie is groundbreaking. We've seen the good acting, heard the brilliant soundtrack, and have been banned to our seats by the amazing movie making before. Without spoiling I just can tell you that you have seen 'but a taste of the terror that [Peter Jackson] will unleash'. Just one hint. Go to a BIG movie theater with a GOOD sound system and reserve the BEST seats. This piece of art does deserve nothing less.

And for those complaining about missing/edited scenes - wait for the Extended Edition. Even though the movie already runs for more than three hours there is a lot potential for additional material. We haven't been disappointed before, have we, my precioussss?

Naked Blood (1996)

Boooooring

Hmm, IMDb rating of 7.5, good comments, bla, bla ... okay, two of my friends and me, we orderd Pizza, sat down and wanted to see something as cool as Ichi or at least something brainless but funny like Versus. But Naked Blood sucked. It's a complete waste. Okay, the scene with the woman who likes to eat is quite outstanding. But that's it. Nothing more, nothing less. I won't summerize the plot, other people did already, I just wanted to stop the hype. But watch it and rate for yourself. Maybe we can push the rating where it sould be. One more thing that comes to my mind: the soundtrack is even worse than Carpenter ever was - okay, John's cool ... :) 2/10
