I have binge-watched about 12 seasons so far. Having been in a similar industry, I can relate in the restructuring and reconditioning of rooms and the customer service side of things.

After seeing all those episodes, If I was the inspector and trying to convince the owners to make changes, two phrases come to mind.

One is from a TV show called Dr. Phil here in the U. S. where Dr. Phil often tries to change people fro the better. Aperson will explain their issues and DR. Phil will say "How is that working for you?". The idea being that they have a problem and have not done something to change it. This is also evident in this series. People don't want to change and think that even though they have no idea what they are doing, that they are in the right because they THINK they are smarter than the experts.

The second phrase I would tell the hoteliers is this "If you always do what you always did, you will always get what you always got!". This of course means that you have to change things to be able to control how they will be redirected.

Even making small changes to a menu to test its acceptance, or trying different pricing can make a world of difference. If you drop the prices of rooms until you are full, then slowly increase them to find the sweet spot.

I think the series does a good job showing these ideas but I just wish those two quotes were used to help convince the owners.

Interesting Movie - Glad I saw It
10 February 2024
Though unplanned, I stumbled upon a movie this afternoon. The premise intrigued me, yet the portrayal of the school starkly contrasted my late 60's boarding school experience. The various haircuts and room conditions felt far-fetched, as did the blatant disrespect towards teachers.

My school boasted a diverse student body, with international students, affluent ones, and troublemakers. Yet, we swiftly learned to embrace our differences. Similar attire fostered equality, regardless of privilege or behavioral quirks.

During holidays, some students remained on campus or with faculty. Unlike them, I had the luxury of returning home or visiting classmates.

Despite the movie's stark divergence from my reality, it earned a high score. The portrayal of students left behind resonated with me, evoking familiar sentiments. The raw, genuine acting further captivated me.

The mention of my alma mater, Fork Union Military Academy, piqued my interest. I recognized the appeal of its disciplined environment for parents seeking structure. While the film suggests military school as a last resort, it's not to be feared, but rather viewed as a constructive option.

I enjoyed the characters' emotional and physical journeys, embracing the lessons they gleaned.

The movie was enjoyable enough, however, my main issue with the movie was the actor Pico playing JJ. The whole movie I kept thinking he was channeling Grant Gustin (The Flash).

Excellent Movie

I was channel surfing one day and found this movie minutes after the opening credits. I thought it was a Quincy episode and started watching. I soon realized it was a move.

As the movie progressed I said "ah ha!" that I knew who did what. Minutes later I was proved wrong but THEN thought that I knew what was up. Again I was proved wrong. Soon I realized that I was being led down the primrose path. This back and forth happened throughout the movie.

By the end of the movie I realized how well it had been crafted. I felt is was a good choice of cast members too.

I highly recommend this movie if you can find it!
