Nine Perfect Strangers (2021)
Great show, Bad accent
I heard a lot about this show, mixed reviews, but overall good. The show itself is great, and I cant wait for the next season, but holy moley Nicole Kidman's attempt at a Russian accent is horribly god awful. Everytime she was in a scene, and spoke, I had a hard time watching... and its unfortunate because she actually is a great actress, but a Russian accent is something that is not in her wheel house. I wish they played this character differently in the show because its a bit hard to ignore. That is the only part i didn't enjoy - the show premise itself is great, the acting is great (Michael Shannon is amazing!) and it is a highly watchable program.
Easy-Bake Battle: The Home Cooking Competition: Breakfast to Impress Fast (2022)
everything bagel seasoning? really?
This is where i stopped watching the show. To be honest, i was on the fence from the start but decided to give the show a chance, and was intrigued by the use of Easy Bake ovens - But the title is misleading because there are ZERO Easy bake ovens in use. Instead, they have a large oven that shuts off within a certain amout of time, and the outline of it is shaped like an easy bake... what a reach. The reason i wanted to give it a chance was because these are amateurs. But when this episode came... and they let the most BASIC recipe win the first challenge?!?! I was out. The recipe that won this first challenge not only had a BROKEN poached egg, but also had the over-used, over-hyped, tired use of everything bagel seasoning. The other woman should have won and went to the next round. BS....
Grey's Anatomy: Someone Saved My Life Tonight (2021)
what about DeLuca and Bishop's wedding??
Not sure if these actually happened on the same day in the story line but they did air on the same day..... Did Grey's leave out Delucas wedding with Bishop? Is Carina not a part of Greys or what???? I guess bc the shows are technically connected..... Carina is more of a character on Station 19 now, and a character on Greys when its convenient to the storyline?
Honestly i only started watching grays again to get more of the Station 19 storyline. I didn't watch greys since maybe season 4 or 5... didnt even realize it was still on air hahah
Fairly good episode. But honestly... i kinda just want more Station 19, and Carina and Maya :)
Station 19: Crash and Burn (2019)
Andy's most irresponsible move yet
SPOILERS AHEAD! Dont get me wrong, I love this show and Andy's character.... but her actions leaving the aid car when she 1. Already had a concussion, 2. Her partner was incapacitated, and 3. Had a patient that needed pretty critical care.... was beyond irresponsible.
She risked all three of their lives, instead of staying to help the patient that she knew would have needed it (spoiler, patient died). Not to mention had a near close call herself when she fell and hit her head AGAIN, and then also had her partner further injure himself bc he desperately wanted to help the patient (if she had been there, he would not have done what he did).
Really upsetting seeing her make the choice she did in this particular episode.
Black Mirror: Mazey Day (2023)
i agree - not black mirror
If this was a simple horror series, maybe this would have been a better rated epiaode.... but this is Black Mirror.
Where has the thought provoking material gone? Where has the peek into what technology is and could be?
This episode was a step backwards for so many reasons both literal and figurative.
I dont want to minimize the acting - the acting was good for what they had to work with. But this episode...... what a let down.
I was expecting a greater twist but instead was left feeling like Ive seen this before... no surprises. No lingering thoughts afterwards. Just a feeling of deep disappointment.
Black Mirror: Nosedive (2016)
the irony...
.....of giving this episode a star rating on IMBD is hilarious when you think about it. When you watch the episode it is a little predictable, meaning you can guess what kind of change the main character will go through by the end, but that doesn't make it any less entertaining. While the plot might be a touch predictable, what you might want to notice is other things such as the use of color and set design throughout. That itself was well done. And of course this being Black Mirror - you will want to watch..... which is the bigger irony, isn't it? A show that makes us look at ourselves and the dark side of technology = we simply cannot look away. I have to say each season seems to get better and better. Lets hope they can keep it up.
Stickmen (2001)
i've seen better
stick men is not one of the best billiards films i have seen. it is at most, a mediocre one.
stick men, while the playing is slightly closer to "real life" pool playing (meaning that the players sometimes actually miss shots), it still could have been better. some parts are good, and most parts are boring.
if you want to see a great pool film, see "Pool Hall" Junkies instead. PHJ has better pool shots and a faster paced plot line to keep your attention.
if you can stay awake through this movie, then you can judge for yourself.
i personally think you should compare movies and make your own opinions about them. but in my own opinion, Pool hall junkies is the way to go.
