is a peaceful river flowing softly.
4 January 2013
Soongava-Dance of the Orchids is a peaceful river flowing softly. The simple story with bitter reality of our society is beautifully presented by Subarna Thapa. He has blended the culture along with the modernism. We can see the Newari culture which is beautifully presented by both the Director and actors. Saugat Malla has not got the lead here, but his presence charms the movie.

Soongava is a love story of two girls, who regard themselves as their best friend, Kiran(Nisha Adhikari) and Deeya(DiyaMaskey). Kiran is so sure about her relationship with Deeya, while Deeya hides her engagement with a guy ,as she is confused about their uncomforted relationship. Deeya has to take a her decision of her life, and she does and the has to face the societal consequences.

Nisha Adhikari has done a good job and DiyaMaskey is also okay. Few moments Nisha Adhikari is at her peek, as in the climax dance sequence. The overall performance of all the actors is good. In some places, the use of English language seems quite unnatural. Subarna Thapa has presented the awkward uncomfortable moments so beautifully.

The overall technical aspect is good. The audio syncing is much better than other recent Nepali digital cinema so is the cinematography. Despite the average plot, it is a worth watching.

a weak plot beautifully crafted by late Yash Chopra..
14 November 2012
What a silly reason to break a relationship that a promise made to god not to meet forever with the love of the life in return of the lover's life. Who does that? Here Meera (Katrina Kaif) does that. Just knowing this much, you may think what a stupid plot. Despite the weak typical plot Mr. Yash Chopra has beautifully crafted the whole picture with the leading man Samar Anand (Shahrukh Khan) along with the tangled romance with Akira (Anuska Sharma).

Samar Anand,an arrogant lover, a passionate lover, a bomb defuse expert of the Indian army, a man who cannot die although wants to be dead and does risky and extremely dangerous jobs without any precautions to defeat the god. Akira, a daring, confident and new generation girl, who is not serious in relationships, accidentally meets with Samar. Akira comes to find a Samar ten years back and love of his life Meera, their romance and they apart through his diary. Akira makes a documentary of the man who cannot die (samar) and finds her falling in love with Samar.

Jab Tak Hai Jaan has the intensity to make you fall in love. It is a typical love story with modern treatment. The repeating accident to the same character, the unrealistic religious faith, amnesia and it's recovery, the love triangle fells like traditional Indian love stories. But there's no doubt, the film makes you feel love with the film and Samar. The story telling style is as usual of the Yash Chopra. The two female protagonist are totally different. Meera, Yash Chopra's leading lady type and Akira total opposite, but both are madly in love with Samar. But the fact is, "Jab Tak Hai Jaan" rests on Sharukh khan. We can see his as both charismatic and intense and arrogant lover, who is just passionate about his love throughout his life as the title says, "Jab Tak Hai Jaan".

I am giving it 6 out of 10. Despite a weak plot, it is beautiful work which makes you feel love.

Review on Sano Sansar
30 November 2011
Sano Sansar is a romantic story between Ravi(Mahesh Shakya) and Reetu(Namrata shrestha). Ravi is recently graduated from pokhara and is a simple, ordinary guy who is totally confused about what he wants. Reetu is little weird girl who knows what she want in her life. They first meet in a bus and Reetu is all drunk and alone. Ravi takes care of Reetu. Neer Bikram Shah (Neer shah), father of Reetu, a police officer gets information that her daughter is with a guy in a lodge, so he catches Ravi and Ravi says that, he hasn't done any thing to her, instead he was helping her. And Reetu's father give him a command that he must take care of her up to his college time of his daughter. And he does that job and Reetu kind of dislikes him very much. And since the recent past they have been chatting in the internet and are a good friends but are unknown to each other. They continue to be intimated in both real life and internet life. later Ravi finds that the girl he chats daily is the same Reetu. But Reetu is unknown about that. And their romantic and tragic days starts...

Well, I must say that Sano Sansar is a totally different from our usual movie. And it is comparatively much more effective and worth watching. Every aspect of the movie is good. Alok Nembang has done a good job and set a new milestone in the history of Nepalese film.
