Angels Fallen (2020)
A cinematographic train wreck
It never ceases to surprise me the fact that there are so many people out there who don't have the slightest idea on how to make a movie actually making them. For example, the people who put out this piece of garbage. Every aspect of this film look so utterly amateurish. "Low budget" is not an excuse if the director knows what he/she is doing, if he/she can lead the cast and extract some acting skills from them.
The only reason I gave three stars to this cinematographic train wreck was in recognition to Nicola Posener's efforts to add some emotion and credibility to her character while interacting with a cast of puppets. She had a few (only a few) fairly decent moments, almost immediately spoiled by her set colleagues.
Der Greif (2023)
Jeremias Mayer (Mark) and Lea Drinda (Becky) are excellent
A watchable German sitcom. Don't expect too much: it's a teenage "Terror Role Playing Videogame" series with hints of nostalgia for the '90s, following the steps of "Stranger Things".
The couple of young actors Jeremias Mayer (Mark) and Lea Drinda (Becky) are excellent, both responsible for best moments in every episode. Zoran Pingel (Memo) acting is also worth mentioning, as he adds humor and human interest in every scene his character appears.
The storyline and dialogues are predictable and, sometimes, boring. But the cast does a good job keeping their stereotyped characters interesting and relatable.
As I said, don't expect too much. It is a simple and unpretentious piece of entertainment for youngsters and nostalgia for their parents.
Howlers (2019)
The perfect movie to watch with your girlfriend...
...when you have no intention to watch the movie.
It is basically about a Chinese warrior from another dimension that teaches Aikido and Jiujitsu to a Civil War cowboy who wants to kill werewolves. Somehow, the cowboy and the werewolves come back to life in present time and, from there on, the fun is non-stoppable. Ridiculous dialogues, laughable make-up, horrible casting, nonsensical screenwriting, this film has every ingredient to make you laugh your guts out.
The music track is the most amazing part of this masterpiece of trashy filmmaking: absolutely no second of music matches the scene it is being played over. They simply managed to get it wrong every single time. One needs talent to do such feat!
How not give it 10 stars? It reached the peaks of perfect imperfection. Kudos for everyone involved!
Flight 666 (2018)
An excellent piece of bad movie
I had a good time watching this film. The screenplay and everything that goes with it is stupid, ok, but Liz Fenning and Renée Willett are beautiful, and their pretty faces make this title very watchable.
