Disappointing
31 January 2024
This could had been a good movie.

They clearly had good budget. Maybe some explosions looked fake, but cars, costumes, etc were fine. They had good actors. I like Statham and Jeremy Irons. Event the general concept for the story is bearable. Everyone knows that it is not Godfather, but just some action movie.

But they mixed the good stuff, with some completely nonsensical characters and events. The worst are final scenes, what ruins the movie even more. I don't wont to spoil, so I won't say nothing more.

Also there is a lot of unnatural exposition. Characters explain a lot to each other. Even in situations where they clearly both should know it. Writer clearly was not able to "show" information. Everything must be explained in chat-gpt style dialogues.

Oppenheimer (I) (2023)
4/10
Surprisingly boring
12 November 2023
This move is not about atomic bomb, science, technology or war. It is about politics, about cold war, communism and suspiciousness it brought to the USA. So the topic is quite boring.

I know that it is difficult to show boring conversations in a spectacular way. But it is not impossible. Just watch "12 Angry Men" or "The Man from Earth". You will see that even movies happening in one room can be entertaining. But Nolan did not want to use smart dialogues. He choose a trick from MTV - fast cuts.

So we have two committees, couple of meetings and history of Oppenheimer. Everything is cut to pieces and mixed together. There is probably no scene longer than one minute. Just cut, cut, cut. A fake way to introduce dynamism into boring script.

Fast cuts work only in the middle of the movie, when meeting about the target is shown. And a bit later when Trinity test is done. But those are important moments which can be shown is such way. But the rest is nonsense.

AI generated movie
18 October 2023
In the first scene we see a nice golden key. It probably won't be a spoiler to say that it is important. In fact the word "key" is repeated 101 times during the movie. Yes really, I checked. So the dialogues are repetitive. Very repetitive. I have a feeling that those were written by ChatGPT or something like that.

Plot is the same. There are some groups. They fight each other in different locations. Again and again. Whole plot could be resolved in 10 minutes. But it takes almost 3 hours. Visual side of the actions scenes is good, but that is it. This movie is so empty.

For me the only interesting thing about it, is that the crew planed to demolish a real bridge near my city (in Europe) but because of controversy they were not allowed.

Not great but not terrible.

One of those science fiction movies which will not get any Oscars. It won't be remembered as a masterpiece. It's not another Inception, although some scenes look similar.

But because today in science fiction genre we only superheroes or transformers and everything must be from one of three know universes, this is finally something different and refreshing.

Despite many problems I enjoyed it. Acting is acceptable. Visual effects are minimal, but those are not required. There are some interesting plot twists, which I always like. If you are science fiction fan, Ben Affleck fan, or mystery fan, you can probably watch it.

Crazy but not in a good way
14 May 2022
Yes, this movie is really crazy. It's like nothing I have ever seen. But it is crazy in a bad way, so I'm really surprised that it has such high rating and good reviews.

First 30 minutes are quite interesting. Together with the main character we learn what is happening. I like that. I like when ordinary people are show in extraordinary circumstances. But that's it. Those extraordinary events quickly become annoying and watching that becomes tiresome. Movie is to long and repetitive. There also some cringe jokes like big d-s used to smack someone or b-plugs used to induce superpowers. College humour. Movie tries to pass some family values, but doing this in such crazy way didn't work for me at all.

Snake Eyes (2021)
4/10
That was boring
19 August 2021
This movie is trying to be more Japanese than the Japan itself. So we have bunch of smart quotes about honour and family. We see lot of sword fighting. Everyone from main bosses to unnamed thugs fights with a sword. Seems like guns are almost forbidden. Lot of action. Lot of ancient mythical magic. Not to much sense. And lot of electric bikes. Predictable and rather boring.

But the worst thing is that we don't learn to much about Snake Eyes. Really. This is his Origins? Yeah, in first scene we see that he's father was killed and hi fought in a cage. But that's it. How he became so good? In one scene he says that he is not a murderer, in other that he did horrible things. So which is it? Was he Yakuza's assassin or he was just packing fish? We learn nothing about his skills. This is rather Origins of someone else, but I won't spoil who, if you don't know.

Is this SG-1?
24 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Plot like in old Star Gate episodes. Let's use a portal to another planet. It is collapsing. We must walk a lot, talk a lot and punch some faces. Easy. That was good in the 90ties. I was expecting something more.

Debris (2021)
3/10
Rather boring. Every episode is the same.
6 May 2021
There is obviously a big picture - alien debris falling all over USA. There is also plot of each episode and it's always based on some family connection like mother and son, husband and wife, father and daughter. Unexplainable properties of the debris causes some additional problems for those people. And at the end of the episode two main characters resolve the issue in unconvincing "let's try this" way. And that's it. Repeatable and rather boring schema. Additionally our heroes have family problems of their own and I suspect that they will resolve them in the season finale but I'm not going to watch this.

Stowaway (I) (2021)

Decent vfx, bad story.

Warning: Spoilers
I think that visual effects were pretty good. Nothing spectacular but I didn't see any fake looking CGI. Unfortunately that's all.

Acting is not good, especially at the beginning of the movie. They behaviour doesn't look plausible. They are all, especially Anna, almost happy to see a new guy. That's crazy taking into account that such event would clearly jeopardize their lives and the mission.

Unfortunately the worst part is the plot. It makes no sense. We don't get any explanation how this guy got into the ship and even in between the walls. Accidentally he destroys main life support. That's convenient. Middle of the movie is rather boring. And at the end we get the biggest nonsense. They were supposed to fly for months and lack oxygen for couple of weeks. But they want to fix this with two small oxygen tanks. And when one is lost, they must get the second one immediately, during solar storm which will last only for couple hours. Why? No one knows. I hope I don't have to add that solar storms are rather carcinogenic so someone must sacrifice himself.

Waste of time
21 January 2021
When I found this movie it was 8.4 and had only 10/10 reviews. Since then rating is plummeting down. What was that? All the kids who played voted or what?

And I was surprised with this high rating because this is not a good movie. In first scenes we discover that the girl is a bit crazy when she kills a deer with a stone. Then we see that movie is not very smart when there is machine gun shooting in the cafeteria but no one hears that. Th main character must run everywhere and point groups of students to the exit...

I don't want to spoil the rest of the movie but to be honest there is nothing to spoil. There is no plot. No character development. Predictable ending. A really boring movie and waste of time.

Worst lost of potential in this year
24 December 2020
Good actors, great visual effects, but terrible plot. If you know anything about cold weather you will be annoyed. If you know anything about space you will be angry. If you don't enjoy movies made of cliches you will be bored. I'm not even saying that's simply much too slow.

Good but makes no sense. Simple explanation below...
29 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Movie is quite good. Worth seeing. But the main idea makes no sense.

Lets analyse first and simplest event: bullet in the opera. Main character saw the hole before it was reversed. Would he see it day before? Yes, because it was caused by bullet travelling back in time. Would he see it year before? Ten years? Would he see it when this opera was built? Yes, yes, yes. So they build the opera with a hole and a bullet inside? That's the only explanation to this event. But that makes no sense.

Disaster
4 October 2020
Trying to communicate with locals who doesn't speak English. Feeling sick. Having horrible visions. Running around the island. Those 4 themes are main building blocks of this movie. Each is repeated dozen of times. I managed to watch it till the end but I advise you not to even try as it is a waste of time.

Waste of time (travel)
13 September 2020
I watched only 10 minutes. I couldn't stand it any more. I hated when actors were in a dialogue and both were facing left. It looked like there were talking to the wall. When you show a dialogue, actors should be facing opposite directions! That is basic of filming! Who made this terrible movie?
