A pity
7 May 2006
I am a lover of classical movies, and when I saw the people in the credits, thought it must be one of the best classic movies, above all the 10 points vote of the majority of the people increased this sensation, but after seen the film I liked it but not the performances of the most famous actors. I didn't like Charlton Heston or Orson Welles acting and although impressed for his figure, neither the Marlene Dietrich one, perhaps I didn't understood the possibilities of the time, I don't try to say my opinion if the right one, because I am just a simple fanatic of old movies but I have seen many classic pictures with a different sensation, such as Casablanca or Gone with the wind. I do like the screenplay, original and bold for this time, and the direction of the play, but that's all.

A Pity

Warning: Spoilers
*** May contain spoilers***

Old westerns same color than black and white, are loved for people who lived the Golden Age of westerns, so considering the actors and of course the date you expect something outstanding, and found an average product.

Of course James Stewart is excellent as always, but the story with no surprises, does't let Audrey Murphy show his best side, even so, the wonderful colors, the ambiance reconstruction, makes movie lovers to stay still awaiting the almost sure final scene.

A must see movie for western followers, good music and good action is enough to justify this type of movie, added to a good staff of actors.

Tango Bar (1935)

Excellent film of Gardel. This comment may contain spoilers.

Warning: Spoilers
I watch this film several times and love Gardel songs, I think due to the time past, there are no secrets about the plot of Gardel pictures. In the top moment of his life as a singer he was called to the EEUU for the Paramount due to the interest his name offered to all audiences in these times. Two of his better songs are included one reflecting his love for Buenos Aires and other showing his gambler side.Of course he wasn't an excellent actor but instead was probably the best Tango singer in the world and still is.The film is a classic, and the last of his movies due to his tragical death in a plane accident. So if you like tango you can't avoid to watch this film.

Good western old fashion style

Sorry I did'nt read the original book, so I enjoyed the film but, I was always thinking on "Shane" updated, but I can't say if the original plays are similar. A film to be seen for all western lovers that retrieve us the bravery and sense of honor of prairies men.

A human hero.

A very interesting entertainment, with the charm of the old movies. Tarzan faces the greatest perils without hesitation if the moment requires it, and we all enjoy with him his success. The most insteresting for me is a man without special powers facing the problems and beating them just with human skills (he was a great swimmer and had a great shout)
