So Cold the River (2022)
Quite Different Than the Book, But Still I Enjoyed It
So, I read the book before watching the movie. It was quite a bit different than the book, especially the ending. The acting was pretty good. I know some said they didn't know what was going on at the end, I'll say this, if you paid attention through the movie, it wouldn't have been confusing at all. It's pretty easy to follow if you pay attention.
Also, someone reviewed this and said "You're supposed to believe this enormous, ultra-plush hotel exists in a small town where everyone knows everyone, those two concepts just don't gel."
I want to let them know that the location where the book and movie take place, and where the movie was filmed, is an actual, enormous, ultra plush hotel, in a small town where everyone knows everyone. Think of "The Shining" where it took place at the Stanley Hotel in the book and the movie, and the movie was filmed at the actual Stanley Hotel.
In the book, it says right away it's the West Baden Hotel. The movie takes place there, and was filmed there, and it's an actual enormous, ultra plush hotel in a small town where everyone knows everyone. So, even if you don't think the concepts gel, they don't have to cause it's reality.
