Visitor's Day (2021)
Funny and Scary.
The script was tight. The plot was scary and funny. Very enjoyable.
Legacy of an Invisible Man (2021)
Creepy
I hate vermin. Combine vermin with possible invisibility and wow. Super creepy with some levity to help ease tension. Good special effects.
Biggy Wiggy (2020)
Fun
This short film will resonate with anyone who has a bug phobia. The acting is low key and authentic. Fun and creepy at the same time.
Lumber vs. Jack (2014)
A group of scientists working for a company involved in genetic engineering disappears. The ex husband of one of the scientists goes in search of the group.
This low budget indie film is quite good. It takes a serious subject, the genetic engineering of plant life and imagines the worst that can happen. The trees go rogue, scientists go missing. A man, whose wife is missing, and who has opposed the program goes to rescue her. Along the way he meets others caught up in the horror that the scientists have created. Jack is very laid back and quite wry. The effects were good for a movie with this budget. I also liked the flashbacks to Jack and Jill's relationship before the divorce. The acting was above average. I would definitely recommend this movie. It scares you, makes you think about what we are doing to the environment and still can make you laugh.
Alien Vengeance II: Rogue Element (2010)
A group of friends meet after many years, but their reunion is marred by the possible presence of an alien.
This movie is a sequel to Alien Vengeance. It picks up nicely where the first movie left off, but can also stand alone.
The story is frightening, but has elements of humor. There is also a great deal of suspense as the six friends try to figure out which one of them may be the alien.
The action takes place mainly at one location which lends itself to the feeling of the characters being trapped. The film avoids the feeling of a single set stage play by bringing in other characters at different locations.
The acting is quite good. Kevin White is funny and sincere as a man who believes he must save the world from aliens. Debbie Rochon shines as always.
The special effects are quite good and add to the suspense.
I would recommend this films to anyone who enjoys horror films
