Paatal Lok (2020)
A Masterpiece which will move you inside out!
Like many others... I have been watching Netflix, prime, HBO, Hulu, etc since the inception and after so much of fine television & cinema work, we think that we have seen it all.... And then comes Paatal Lok.
It's one of the darkest and disturbing TV show and sometimes it becomes difficult to watch but then you look beyond and see how difficult it must have been to film it. I could never imagine a Indian TV series could be so brilliant, so amazing that whatever I have seen in the past looks weak and to an extent... Lame!
This is the best Indian TV series by a long shot and one of the best in the world... If not the best!
The research work done on this is just ridiculous, things which have been shown in this can't be imagined if someone hasn't gone through them. The direction, the acting, the cinematography... Everything is top notch and the very best! The bar they have now set for Indian television would be difficult to beat.
Hat's off to pull off something so incredible, so real that it will go down as one of the best every made. Truly a Masterpiece!
Uri: The Surgical Strike (2019)
Only one issue... Why don't we make more "remarkable" movies like this one!
This is one epic masterpiece... If i could just describe in one line. However even that won't be enough! A truly remarkable, no nonsense, high quality, absolutely breathtaking cinema... For once i had to pinch myself that was i actually watching an Indian Bollywood movie or was it a work of art by some top international film maker? Everything about this movie is perfect... Acting, story, direction, action, emotions and that amazing patriotic feeling! Guess we are entering into the new world of beautiful high quality cinema, which gets appreciated by it's audience too instead of those stupid brain dead terrible so called commercial khan movies with no seance or track and still end up doing crores of business.
URI is a celebration of the best our Indian cinema can be and silently has set a benchmark without even trying to do so... Only time will tell if another movie can surpass it in future.... But for now, i can say this without a doubt that it is one of the best movie made in India... Period!
Secret Superstar (2017)
This is how the movies should be made
A highly emotional tale of a daughter and a mother's struggle through a so called man's world and beyond... Amazing acting by all the actors, specially the one played by the mother (Meher Viz) The values shown in the movie are somewhat lost in today's world of cheap & vulgar masala movies. Even the tiny bit of school romance shown is so subtle and cute. Overall an amazing family movies which is such a treat to watch.
Half Girlfriend (2017)
More like Half Star!!!
It doesn't get any worst than this... I mean seriously!!! First of all, i don't understand the name "half girlfriend" should have named it "yet another stupid senseless idiotic Hindi romantic movie remake number one million and one" Why do they even bother with such movies is beyond my understanding... Where there are movies like Hindi Medium & Mom which are exceptional at showing awesome cinema, this movie is still stuck in the 19th century to show hopeless romantic romeos with fairy tail endings which are anything but real life!
Just don't bother watching it, instead just watch a child playing in the park and you will still feel better watching that instead of this pile of garbage.
Tamasha (2015)
It felt like looking in the mirror!
Wow... I would have seen a billion movie since the time i have been born and would have read a million reviews on IMDb but never in my life i thought of writing a review here, so of course this is my first and honestly i don't know where to begin from...
This movie personally for me has been the biggest wake up call, i have never been jolted so much by just a movie before. This is a tight slap on the face of ugly corporate world... Which many of us have been and still are suffering by it. Yes this movie is not for people who have never seen the face of corporate world, so it will be unfair for those to comment on how this movie is and in a way it's unfair for the movie too!
Beautifully acted by Ranbir (i am not a big fan of his work but totally blown away in this one) The story is by far the best of my life... Maybe a bit biased as i can connect to it. Totally love the movie and thanks for bringing an awesome movie on such a serious subject... Cheers!
