First season was excellent but...
13 March 2020
It just gets steadily worse and cheesier as things evolve. One prominent character dies from season 1 and the show proceeds to lose it. Things also go crazier in season 2 and season 3 just takes it to another level that leaves me disappointed. The acting and humor really goes out the window and makes it almost childlike in season 3 talking about idiotic stuff and bad comedy. It just gets my blood boiling that they turned a really overall decent show and went these arcs that simply killed it.

Mixed feelings about the show
2 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I absolutely loved season 1 although it didn't have all the cooking that people wanted to see, it was sort of understandable why they cut that out. After season 1 unfortunately season 2 happened and everything felt rather over the top.

First season 2 went tackling sexism and showing how some guys can be 'pigs' by making a sexist remark while the woman Heather gets upset invited this remark as they were rubbing it in horribly after coming back from a win. Oh and as far as these competition wins I'm convinced most of the time that they were geared towards sex appeal.

I think the whole men versus women thing is pretty old fashioned and has been done to death. It worked to some degree to draw a certain audience to the show especially with the women winning the vast majority of challenges. Now, this isn't done in every season and I admit I enjoy this show at times.

I didn't care for the conclusion of season 2 either where a very questionable contestant made it to second place. Keith was clearly the better chef and Virginia although supposedly had an excellent 'skill' that was pretty much only visible to Ramsey and the producer because if Virginia was a guy she would have been eliminated at the 1st day due to the number of mistakes she made.

Other seasons have this theme and it grew pretty tedious.

Luke Cage: They Reminisce Over You (2018)
Season 2, Episode 13

Bad ending
27 June 2018
This was a horrible ending for season 2 and have to say I was disappointed this entire season. The first season was pretty darn good and I think really had a lot of things going for it. On the other hand the second season left me really wanting more and left me really hoping that we would get more, but instead it dragged on and on. The finale was perhaps the most disappointing of all and left me realizing that this is probably the conclusion of Luke Cage which is a real shame.

interesting story but...
10 October 2015
Warning: Spoilers
I was very disappointed in killing the Joker so soon. Makes no sense and leaves me very unsatisfied. I think I'll be skipping the series for awhile. I might hold out for a couple of episodes, but so far the villains really pale in comparison besides the Penguin and Riddler. I guess if the entire show is based on building villains, why kill the most important villain in the entire batman genre?

I also don't care for Gordon a huge amount. I find that turning Barbara into a villain isn't a good twist at all and that Gordon's new woman is rather unlikable. Why make so many wild changes with the plot? It would be nicer if it fit more in with the comic books.

terrible movie with a horrific message
14 January 2011
Basically this movie preaches that its okay to kill another group of people all because your the chosen people. The fantasy of the bible loves to preach hate that pretends to be love. In fact God is all about hate in reality and is in reality evil. To kill children in the name of God? How disgusting and utterly inhumane is that?

I read up on the Egyptians some and what the bible teaches vs what actually happened is very contradictory. For one Egypt wasn't built on the backs of Hebrew's it was built through manual labor and slaves yes but very few of the actual slaves were Hebrew. Also the waves going up like it described for moses and his people by god is another lie. In reality it was a natural event and its highly doubtful that Moses people survived it unscathed.

Another factor that enraged me is the contemptuous way that the Jewish and Christian people treat faiths other than their own yet they get self righteous when people criticize them right back. Nothing short of astounding.

The Believer (2001)

big clichés and had a lot of probs with film
12 January 2011
Warning: Spoilers
First off I really enjoyed the first 20 minutes or so but than it progressively got worse and less believable as it went. I thought the acting was decent but I grew to hate the messages in this movie and the way it was trying to produce propaganda that Jews are better lovers and everything and this was the reason the Nazi's hated the Jews. This is simply not true. White supremacists especially neo-nazi's like this main character would never had accepted a guy that was treating the Jewish holy documents with such respect as one of their own.

Much of this film is focused propaganda about how Jews are actually superior to everyone else. Also when one of the Jewish guys said how what the Palestinians are going through are so much more different than what they went through during world war II I had to really roll my eyes on that one. On the other hand I will give this film credit for trying to delve in this subject but it failed in many ways.

What really set me off was the ending. It was absolutely one of the worse endings I've ever seen in my life.

Very poor movie that lectures more than entertains
11 January 2011
Warning: Spoilers
I found that this movie lacked so much substance that took away from any entertaining value. I'd rather hear other things from someone who lived for so long than religion and Jesus. The premise is extremely weak not to mention implausible that I had to roll my eyes more than a couple of times. The fact that anyone would believe this guy without proof was beyond annoying.

I found so many contradictions and things that didn't make sense that I am surprised it wasn't listed in the goof section on this site. No surprise because apparently this movie could do no wrong.

For one Jesus was born, a man didn't just come around and said I am 'Jesus' he was a baby than he grew up. As for Buddha this didn't make sense at all because they kept a lot of records about Buddha and no where have I read that he taught some white man named Jesus. I guess the western nation doesn't realize or chooses to ignore this fact but this was so teeth grindingly annoying that I had to stop watching it.

Was so bad that I couldn't even finish the film.

Extremities (1986)

awful film that insults your intelligence
2 January 2011
I gave this movie three stars instead of one for the acting but even so I feel I am being way too generous. One thing that bugged me continuously throughout the movie was how unrealistic the entire movie was. At no point was I convinced that any of this was even remotely possible let alone feasible. It seemed to me as a matter of fact that it had just a bunch of preaching and other meaningless political drivel.

Maybe back in the 80s when this film was made the film maker may have wanted to make a statement about rape and how the victims need to fight back. I agree but within the law not outside of it because if you don't that makes you no better than your attacker. Whats more am I supposed to believe that she'd actually get away with what she did to him? He may get put away but I'm inclined to doubt that but rather she would be the one spending massive time behind bars especially if she murdered him.

Whats more nothing she forced him to say would ever be allowed to be used in the court of law. Add insult to injury he could sue her for any physical and emotional damages that she inflicted upon him. I understand that some may be outraged by what I'm writing her but this is a simple fact.

At the end this movie actually left me feeling sorry for the rapist which I sincerely doubt was the intention of the director.

this movie wasn't that bad
24 December 2010
I really don't understand why people bashed this movie. Perhaps it wasn't a huge budget and not a huge amount of special effects. I think over all it was actually a decent movie. Sure it didn't have huge actors that were great but I feel the acting was very good for what they had. Now maybe it could have been better made. Some have criticized it for being unoriginal or formulaic but what is really? Most movies in general are based off another concept that has been done many times before.

Not every movie has to be a blockbuster for it to be a good movie in my opinion. Some moments were a little dull and were unbelievable but it wasn't completely unrealistic or unreasonable to just stretch your imagination some. After all its just a movie.

Not very good
20 December 2010
I don't think I will be finishing this series. I much preferred the original and found it to be uninspiring and uninteresting. I don't care for it at all or find myself drawn into the story. I doubt that I will try and give the second season a try much less finish the first.

What they needed to do to make this story some what watchable is make the aliens a little more sinister. Stop trying to rely so heavily on drama and jumping from character to character all the time. Using music to make everything sound interesting actually hurts the credibility of what could have been a great remake.

I remember how a friend of mine hated remakes and I'd defend them, stating that remakes have their place and can be just as good if not rarely better than the original. Yet he's also right in stating that to many try to go a different direction than what the original was supposed to be about and I found that this show did that and in a way that hurt the credibility of the show, holding me back from wanting to finish it. I guess some shows are simply not meant to be remade and this just happens to be one.

Eraserhead (1977)

Boring and near unwatchable
19 December 2010
I know that David Lynch relies on a lot of surrealism for his movies and this doesn't make him a bad director. In fact I like surrealism but the key is moderate amounts and not too much or it becomes distracting and hard to follow. His movies are sort of boring and hard to enjoy at times although I can see how some may object to this I felt Eraserhead in particular was so tedious that I had to just stop watching it.

After thirty minutes of nodding off I realized finally that this movie is way overly hyped and tends to rely to heavily on abstract concepts for me to really stick with. Maybe I'm being biased in thinking that they movie could have been much better if their was some sort of plot and dialog.

show is great but..
16 December 2010
I feel that this show has gone downhill some over time. Every episode has gotten over the top and hard to believe it seems. I must admit though I love the plot twists on occasion but I just wish that they were more believable is all. In my opinion things need to get better with Olivia and Stabler, it would be better to have more chemistry between the two and keep the show going I think.

Also I really don't like Ice T much, he just doesn't act like a cop and seems to stretch things when he turns on his partners. It's almost as if he's expressing some disdain towards his own department out of some ideal. Also the way he talks to the captain at times is annoying and should have cost him his job. Without giving to much away I just feel that it would be better at some point to get rid of Ice T and replace him with someone else.

Okay show
16 December 2010
I feel that this show is okay not spectacular and I have some major problems with how the characters change and evolve throughout the show. It seems like they go back and forth and although sometimes funny I feel like that is all they fall back on when it should be more serious. Another major issue I had was the Judaic Christian theme's.

I feel like horror is always better without it as this becomes distracting. Although I find this show still enjoyable enough and its worth watching for sure as a form of light entertainment. I also feel that it has a certain lack of of substance to it that could have made this show great.
