The Stone Carvers (1984)
Entertaining and Eyeopening
The path this film takes you down exposes a dyeing artisan breed that lives their lives for the craft they have learned as it was passed down from those who came before them. You grow to like the subjects and learn to share the life they lead. Intertwined with the continuing growth of the building as if it were a live and breathing thing, driven by the faith of the congregation.
The stone comes to life in the hands of these Masters, thanks to the work of the production crew this is a beautiful window, you may never look at a carved stone the same way again.
Super Bowl XXII (1988)
Truly a magical trip...in so many ways.
Start with the auction of 2 of the 4 season tickets to be able to afford to go to the home games in the first place, then by the luck of a lottery gaining the right to purchase 2 tickets to the super bowl. What more could 2 kids (former) ever ask to have happen, heck with part time jobs and classes living in group homes all was right with the world. We had the tickets BUT the game was in San Diego....in the language of the times. We NEED a Miracle, in every way.
For every year we could remember we gathered to pile into one vehicle to save on the 5.00 parking fee. How we got to San Diego was a trail of fun and help from so many angles along the way.
Catching a train to get an affordable flight to switching up on destinations so as to get a shuttle bus hotel shuttle to the stop at Barney's Beanery and Venice Beach mixed with a stop at Beaver's house along the way......and then the GAME. As a Skin's Fan heaven was viewed for a moment.
