The second movie of Payman Maadi is a love story that happens during the Iraq-Iran war in Tehran. It is successful in combining the two contrasting concepts: love and war. However, the story is slow and there's not much happening in most of the movies, and it does not help to introduce the characters to the audience. There are also some signs from the director that repeat way more than necessary, in a way that they are not interesting anymore. (such as the tangerine peel) From the technical point of view, it is a big step forward compared to his first movie (The Snow on The Pines) where the brilliant soundtrack of Eleni Karaindrou and the Mahmoud Kalari's cinematography are very successful in showing the war-torn city.
