Scrubs: My Chief Concern (2009)
Great Set-Up to the Finale
In this Scrubs episode we find out that JD has accepted a job where he now lives. The episode really focuses on how painful it is to leave the only life you knew, and all of your friends behind. I think many of us can relate to that especially those of us who have graduated high school. I personally got to spend the first twenty one years of my life with my best friend. We went to school together and we even roomed together at the same community college. But now we both have gone our separate ways. It hurts when you leave your life and friends behind which is why I consider this to be one of the saddest Scrubs episodes ever.
Two of the major sad parts in this episode are: When you see Dr. Cox in the end leaning up against the wall as JD is leaving. JD says goodbye and Dr. Cox just stares at him and doesn't say a word because he is both very angry and very sad that JD is leaving. Another one, and I don't know if everyone agrees with me, is when the Janitor shows anguish on his face. Through the whole series, the Janitor and JD are supposed to hate each other. The Janitor would do anything to torture JD. However, after Janitor tells JD that he is going to make his last few weeks special, you can clearly see the sadness in his face. Played very well by Neil Flynn.
I give this episode a 9/10 on the rating scale.

Big Fat Liar (2002)
Good Family Comedy
It's not the movie that my buddies and I would go see but as a family man/woman you might take your kids to see it. Although it is no longer in theaters.
There are a few unbelievable moments in the movie as explained by previous viewers but isn't that what kid movies are all about. The makers of this movie aren't obviously trying to impress thirty year old men.
Paul Giamatti does an excellent job playing the bad guy in this film and you learn to hate and despise what he's doing. Not a bad showing for Muniz and Amanda Bynes either. And of course the ever so lovable Donald Faison plays a character you can't help but learn to love especially at the end when he plays the main character in the new movie.
If I no longer had a little kid inside of me and I was with my guy friends...I would rate this as a 2/10. But since I know how to look at a film from a targeted audience stand point. I'm giving it 7/10.

Saturday Night Live: Zach Braff/Maroon 5 (2007)
Zach Braff's Unspectacular Performance on SNL
I'm not saying that Zach Braff is the biggest flop host on SNL but he has to have come close. Normally I think of a young, very talented actor when I think of Mr. Braff but here I don't. Not only do I think Braff's performance is dauntingly bad, I also think that this has got to be one of the worst SNL's I have ever seen. The skits were bad and not even funny.
Another downer is the fact that Braff played himself in two of the skits. If I wanted to see that all I would have to do is go see his movie Garden State. And even then I don't mind it but they have to be funny. One of the skits was about him going onto an Italian show where nobody spoke English except for him. Nothing funny about that. I kind of wish he would have carried out the normal SNL routine which is playing another character besides himself.
I like most of Braff's work and as much as it pains me to admit, this was horrendous. Nothing even remotely interesting about the entire episode.
2/10 Thanks and sorry Mr. Braff, MSMITH
Boys Don't Cry (1999)
Great Emotional Movie
It seems hard on a movie to take away a star just because something is missing but that's what I'm doing. Where is the actor for Phillip Devine? Some people think that adding his character to the story is not vital but I think it is. It shows just how cowardly and evil John Lotter and Tom Nissen actually were.
Another aspect that I noticed was how the Sheriff was pretty tame in the movie. If you go back and find the true story or hear the audio somehow...you will see that the Sheriff who actually interviewed her was very inappropriate and unprofessional.
I cannot think of another movie so far where the actors fit so much with the real life people. Casting did such a great job finding the characters for John Lotter and Brandon Teena. Both Hilary Swank and John Peter Sarsgaard get 10/10 stars from me in their performance.
This movie ends up being emotional because Lana (Chloe Sevigny) loses two people. One of her friends and another she dearly loves. It ends up being emotional because of the cruel thoughtless acts carried out by Lotter and Nissen.

The Broken Hearts Club: A Romantic Comedy (2000)
Late To The Game But Decent Movie
May Contain Spoilers I just got around to watching this movie a few days ago and I have to say as a heterosexual male it was a pretty decent movie. The story focuses on a group of homosexual males leading lives in LA. The movie does not focus on the stereotypical gay male. Many times when they are talked about the subject of AIDS, and sex come up but you never here about the average life like most people lead. Being gay is just a preference in partnership...it doesn't mean your any different in your life outside of your relationship.
I originally stumbled across this movie because of actors Dean Cain and Zachary Braff. Braff in the beginning I thought was just a little too much but then I realized that each actor fit into the character he was playing and any other combination would have messed it up.
Last but not least, the main point that I took away from this was not about the gay community but about how true friends come to you in a time of need. It may have taken a while for the characters to realize what kind of friendship they had with each other (and for Benji (Zach Braff) he almost kills himself,) but when the friends find out what kind of trouble he is in, they come running.
